  1. Can you post the code that generates the URL and redirect?
  2. Just replace it, fans are really cheap.
  3. Good catch. I hadn't thought of that. :anxious: ~D. V. "I'm embarrassed that I missed that." Devnull No worries, we all have blonde moments, me more than most considering I am a natural blonde LOL
  4. Try updating or reloading the sound drivers.
  5. I am assuming the network drive is on a NAS box. NAS = Network Area Storage. I would check the NAS box, reboot it to start with.
  6. Try this utility DieNortonDie.zip That's usually pretty good. Unzip and run the executable.
  7. I have a util called "Die Norton Die" but it's at work, If I get the chance I will post it here for you when I get in later on.
  8. Well it didn't Say that your mobile can use HC SD cards, so possibly not. I had this exact problem with my GP2X, a 4GB card will not work in it, but another 4GB will. The one that doesn't work is one of the newer faster transfer rate cards.
  9. TAB has nothing to do with IE etc, it's an automatic thing that happens when you press TAB. Tab will always move to the next field or item. If it's not working for you, then your TAB key may be faulty.
  10. Ah, oh well, as the saying goes, stuff happens :(
  11. Or you could run a system restore, restoring Windows to a point before it all started :)
  12. It says "System Idle Process" which is taking up anywhere from 80-96% of my CPU. System Idle Process means that how much CPU is available, i.e. doing nothing. So if system Idle Process is at 100% it means the CPU is doing absolutely nothing. So 80-96% is a good thing.
  13. Good point, but ikkevincent said that it already has music on it. I wonder if it's formated with FAT32 or NTFS? It should be FAT32, I would advise checking that out.
  14. Are you sure your card is compatible with your phone? There are two main types of SD cards, one of them is an Ultra fast version. Check with your phones manual or on the manufacturers website.
  15. From what I can see there's nothing running there that would cause CPU time to get eaten up. You could try one thing, open up task manager just after you log on, and click processes and then the CPU section twice to view what's taking up CPU time, then minimize it. If you ever get slow down, you should be able to restore Task Manager quickly (Alt+TAB) as it's already running to see what's eating up your CPU time.
  16. Excellent! You just took your first step to becoming a computer technician :) If there's anything else we can help you with, you know where to come!
  17. Sorry no you shouldn't go for a cooling pad. There's a problem with the laptop that you're not going to cure, and it's only going to get worse, possibly even leading to damage. I repair laptops for a living, what you're doing is like using a sticky plaster to mend a broken leg. Answer me a question: Wouldn't it be better to get it sorted out now which will not cost you much, or to let it get worse and have to replace damaged components which will probably cost an arm and a leg? Go for your solution if you like, but please take advice from a professional and get it repaired.
  18. If your Task Manager is taking that long to come up, then I think you have other problems to deal with. No task manager substitute would appear any faster than Windows Task Manager. May I suggest you take a look at what's taking up your CPU time first?
  19. I have set up my own server, but no idea what Ventrilo is.
  20. Okay, your laptop is more likely to be overheating due to dust build up blocking the vents. This is a very common thing you need to open it up and check the heat sink and the air path the fans blow the air through. I have lost count the amount of laptops I have had to do this. Solve the real problem! Software and external solutions will not solve the problem, it's only going to get worse. Blowing compressed air through the vents will not cure this problem, it's quite often a carpet of dust is coating the inside of the fins the heat sink blows through, and this cannot be seen or cured from the outside. Also reseating the heat sink and using fresh thermal heat compound would be a good idea too!
  21. It's great you're learning PHP, it's one of my favourite languages!
  22. Also, some motherboards have an option in BIOS to enable USB keyboard support. This would generally only effect the onboard USB so this could possibly one thing to look for. Unlikely though as generally Windows would pick up the keyboard after boot. Can you use other devices on the USB ports such as Pen Drives etc? One more thing: Open device manager, then plug the keyboard into the USB at the back, see if it detects anything and if it errors. If it does error, remove the device from device manager, unplug the keyboard and try again.
  23. There we go we're all happy again, and it's the weekend too YIPPEEEE :)
  24. Mr. D. V. Devnull, Unfortunately you have a knack for saying things that appears to rub people up the wrong way, may I suggest you take a step back sometimes before pressing the submit button and choosing your wording carefully. Thanks, Clare.
  25. I think we could do with having a couple more tech savy mods for the tech and computers section of Tip.It. One thing I hate is misinformation or useless posts. Sometimes less is more and don't forget the point of this section of the boards are to help those who are looking for information and help, if they ask a basic question, you must answer in a format they would understand! slymongoose didn't deserve the slapping and was only stating what a lot of us already know, but this information is quite critical as some people really don't know running two or more malware detectors that have active protection is a bad thing!
