You don't get the defense experience unless you talk to the gnome AFTER you kill the demon, you complete the quest once you kill the demon, and you can choose NOT to get the defense experience by NOT talking to the gnome.

Sounds to me like you were getting played...I can tell you, if my mom was dying, the last thing she would want is to get a whip in RuneScape...Especially if she isn't even ranked.... Haha. Play for like three hours one day on ftp, and count how many times someone asks your to 'do emot plz'. My guess is 40-60. Take it off, you will get VERY annoyed at how many people ask for you to do the emote.

You can't compare a DDS to a D hally, they're used for totally different things. I'd take a D hally if I'm fighting Black demons, but If I was in the wilderness fighting a level 102 rune pure, DDS would be pretty useful.

My TV is about three feet from my computer, so I watch TV/movies/play games while training skills like fishing, woodcutting, crafting, and combat (I'm ftp, I train at the aggressive spiders). And for everything else (runecrafting, mining, etc.) I read tif. :D
