Should the playing time be limited when playin RuneScape?
Coming from a person with maxed stats seems like you need to take some responsibility not everyone with high stats plays all day every day. if you play efeciently you can get high stats pretty easily I don't care how efficient you are, if you have really high levels, you play alot. I started playing this game in 2001 and I only have 1 level 99. Someone who only plays for a year or 2 and has almost all 99's plays a lot. Certain skills like agility and slayer, to name a few, take a long time to level up. Even other skills take a while. I love how nearly everyone who brings up when they started playing started in 2001. And the funny thing is, they always have pathetic skills and their excuses? "I took breaks a lot" "I was hacked" "I was banned" "I'm not a nerd and plays a lot" etc. I really did start in 01, late january of 01 actually. My first character was Vrookman. I got it to somewhere in the level 40 range, then got hacked and couldn't get my password back, so I played off and on on several characters until about a year and a half ago when I started back again.(also when i first got members) My total level is like 1646 now, which isn't amazing, but I consider it pretty respectable. Anyway the story about the guy keeling over dead is [cabbage] anyway. You can only survive for about 3 days without water. So if he didn't drink anything for 8 days he would already have been dead. Even if it did happen, it's from idiocy, not addiction.

Exactly, cigarettes, alcohol, coke, meth, crack, heroin. The list of things more important than game "addiction" goes on and on.

Here we go again. SwiftKit illegal to use
Sorry, but i have to dismiss this, i know maybe one pure? and i know tons of people who use SK, i've never heard this thing of pures using SK before, not sure were this is coming from. Also, to people saying, just open up other windows etc, thats the whole point, you don't have to open things up, its there, one click away, thats the point of convenience. I'm with you on this, I use swiftkit, and I'm not a pure. I find pures to be stupid anyway, I mean if you ever intend to max out the character you obviously can't stay a pure. Anyway, I don't think I even know any pures. Then again I'm not really the type to make "runescape friends"

I don't care. It gets on my damn nerves. i have no idea why, but I keep wanting to kick someone in the head every time i read it.

Look Stop [bleep]ing saying legal and illegal. It's stupid, and you all sound like idiots saying it. Nothing about runescape can be illegal(except maybe real world trading) because there are no LAWS involved. Something can be against the rules, that doesn't make it illegal. You're not going to jail for breaking runescape rules. so stop calling it illegal. It's just pissing me off.

Here we go again. SwiftKit illegal to use
It's not an "advantage" it's a "convenience." There is a difference, and you don't seem to understand what that is. It's doesn't make anything in the game easier for you, it simply makes it easier for you to find information you may need concerning the game, and allows you to find that information in one client rather than opening several programs/windows and straining your cpu.

Everyone can now stop whining. Quick find code: 14-15-38-58922826 Page 2 Lulz, Yep Seven and Crow were full of [cabbage]. why am i not surprosed

Amen my brother =D> (even though i never use Irc :P ) I think Jagex need to re-search into this a bit more then throwing a coin in the air and yelling heads or tails. (heads it gets banned, tails it stays...) Aslong as it isn't an unfair advantage Jagex should shut their faces. It's not exactly Jagex. It's seven and crow. They can either explain themselves, and cite the source of their information, or they can take their anti swiftkit attitudes, and shove them securely up their respective [wagon].(or each others' if they're into that sort of thing)

Here we go again. SwiftKit illegal to use
i'm going to continue to use Swiftkit. If they start banning people for it, they're going to lose A LOT of customers. To answer a couple questions. - It does not block banner ads. - It does not contain any copyrighted material, and rather links to the material. - it provides convenience, not advantage. All of the material found in swiftkit could be found on fansites, or the official runescape website, Swiftkit just combines it all into one easy to use interface. Either way, I'm going to continue using it. If they want to ban me, then they lose a loyal player for over 8 years. If that's their business model, then they're doomed to failure anyway.

I'm guessing they probably have their KGP ID cards on them. As to Aeria, I simply meant games like shaiya, 2 moons, Flyff, and all of those other games that have the exact same systems of battles and controls, and for the most part, almost identical interfaces.

Runescape On Consoles *proof*
You could use voice chat, by very unlikely since all the immature people who think the "F" word is the best adjective, adverb, or noun to use. They can provide a free download. For the sanity of the filter, I'd rule that possibility out. I don't know of any voice recognition software that is 100% accurate at filtering certain words, from the voices of different people (male, female, old, young, those with bronchitis, those who haven't hit puberty, etc...) What about some sort of dictation program which would turn what you say into text? That would allow the chat filter work exactly as it does currently. Personally it doesn't matter to me though, as I'm still playing a PS2 -.-

[hide=] That was pretty good  But you made a typo on the message after you throw up. yeh "i did not know a that" lulz Ok sorry, it was a grammatical error  No, I made a few typos too: Grquartzds: "Wtf! The sheild broke before I even equipped it!" The shopkeeper refuses to return your money. There are no warranties in Geilinor. My graphics program doesn't have a spellchecker. Also, I cannot comprehend "i before e" -.- [/hide] Except after c my friend \

One small favour... Most of all runescape quests are 'bring me said item because I am too fat and lazy to get it, then talk to said person because I'm unsociable.' You spend most of your time walking to an out of reach place, rather than fighting or solving a puzzle. There are a handful of quests, however, that have been pretty fun. They are mainly the ones that don't involve a pointless task that could of been solved in a much easier manner. I think he meant quests in games where every single quest means killing some monster over and over to collect enough random useless objects to fill a quota for some npc who wants to use said useless object to make a nice cuppa tea, or because they need to study the "strange markings" found on them. Then all the monsters are just slightly upscaled versions of the weaker monsters in the game. You know all the cut and paste games made by companies like Aeria.

To waste your time. Also try to keep their [Jagex] word of completing old quest lines instead of starting new ones. Do you want a Runescape with no quest no story lines or plots??? Stop complaining about quest, if you feel like you wasted time doing a quest then the answer is simple. DON'T DO IT! That way you don't have to come here and [female dog] about it and waste even further time posting something that wasted your time. how do you female dog about something?
-
The new slayer monster.
And the best thing about this is... cause Jagex took out unbalanced trading, you can't lose! Well you can, but you won't be able to pay up :P Safe bet. i have 2 words for you payment plan What's a payment plan? Not IRL, like in game, or was that a joke? Sorry not sleeping does this to me. Edit: wtf bad math if you paid in 60k increments every 15 minutes it would take just over 4 hours to pay off 1 mil so then about 20 hours for 5m

ComicScape
When doing dialogue in a comic strip, it always goes from top/left to bottom/right throwing the words around randomly makes it difficult and annoying to try to read. also that wasn't funny I found it funny :) I love all of the comics people are doing here, keep up the good work guys :D How? I mean even the grammar was horrible.

Should the playing time be limited when playin RuneScape?
exactly. Teachers at my elementary school tried to get my mom to put me on Ritalin when i was like 8 because they claimed I had A.D.D. I most assuredly do not have A.D.D. and my mom told them where they could shove their ritalin.

The red Axe isn't tied into this. The dwarves in this quest fractured off from the Red Axe, meaning they weren't a part of it anymore. The Red Axe plays no part in the penguin series. Also the connection with the sea slug is very, very loose, actually in the end the connection seems to be going to be "undone" by the KGB.. (altough a twist can still be there where the slugs actual start controlling the penguins, it would make the story very far-stretched). The captain was under the control of a slug. That's where that connection comes from. What that may mean for the future, I can't say. I'm looking forward to meeting mother Mallum though.

Should the playing time be limited when playin RuneScape?
You don't believe in gaming addiction? I beg your pardon? So people who have to play RuneScape every day, become aggressive when they can't play it and do it more then 8 hours a day aren't addicted? (there were examples of people like that in the article) That gaming addiction excists isn't even a point of discussion, it's a fact. Pfft. No. An addiction is a physical dependence. A game can never alter your body chemistry so that it feels it can't live without it. You can't go through withdrawals from not playing a game. It's all [cabbage]. You see back in the day people had a name for kids like that. It was spoiled little brats. Do you know how they solved it? They made their [wagon] look like someone had set them on fire. It's not an addiction, it's a complete lack of discipline from parents. You are talking about a physical addiction. Just because games are not physically addictive does not mean that they are not addicting. There can also be psychological addictions. Again, no. with a psychological addiction you would begin to manifest physical withdrawal symptoms. Seriously, it's all just kids being [bleep]s because their parents won't let them do what they want. Everything bad in a person's personality is made out to be a disease these days. People should just learn to accept that everything in life is not rosy and that both kids, and adults will act like total [bleep]s if they don't get their way.

Should the playing time be limited when playin RuneScape?
stupidest idea i've ever heard. I pay for this game, so if I want to play nonstop for 4 days straight, that's my right as a consumer. Besides I don't believe in "gaming addiction" The way I see it it's just one more ugly name to stick on people who prefer to do other things than fall into the cogs of the corporate machine. It's just as bad as saying a kid has A.D.D. when they don't pay attention in school. I mean, hello, it's school! Kids hate school. they don't pay attention because it sucks, not because they have A.D.D. BLAH Here's a good test for A.D.D. actually, put a kid in front of a video game or a cartoon and see how long they can pay attention to it. If it's more than five minutes, then they don't [bleep]ing have A.D.D. sorry for that, something's got my boxers in a bunch over that today.
