  1. There are so many valid questions that could be asked, and answered. These questions were absolute [cabbage]. Why not ask what the mods think of certain aspects of the game, or what they would like to see in the future, or really anything actually relevant? I don't give a damn what they think their character is thinking. Also, mod Fran sounds like the biggest kiss [wagon] in the history of.....well, history.
  2. Lulz. I miss the black hole. No one gave a damn about it until it was gone. I bet 95% of players don't even know where it was.
  3. Personally I don't see any problem with increasing the trade limit based on quest points. Seems to me that having 60k for the max QP at the time the trade limit was added, and then increasing it marginally after that would work well. Considering the fact that players who have gone through enough of the game to increase their levels high enough to do the quests required are less likely to buy gold than low level players trying to get ahead, It seems to be a very very narrow avenue for RWT, and one that would be much easier to tighten.
  4. maybe the toilets are instanced. it works that way in harry potter Does that mean that if you die while sitting on the toilet your Gravemarker will now appear outside the entrance, somewhere upwind?
  5. Paw doesn't seem to get that it's the change in words that can help. Also, FYI, the correct translation doesn't have the exact same wording and the hints are occasionally pretty different in different language. Whatever; I give up with this: Paw's not getting or refusing to get my point and I'm apparently not seeing his. I don't see how the translation hurts but Paw's apparently the overlord of Jagex Twitter update protocol. :| What you're missing is that it doesn't matter if the words are different. It doesn't open any new avenues. Some languages have words that don't translate directly into another language. The wording the translation gives doesn't mean anything more than taking a thesaurus and finding synonyms for all the words would. They're not going to give different hints to people of different languages. It's all the same. It all means the same, and considering English is the primary language, we must assume that any faults in translation came from converting it from the original english. Converting translations back to English will give you the exact same phrase if interpreted properly. Any new words are completely irrelevant, simply because english is the primary language. How do you know? I understand that translations are not exact, but if I were on the Jagex hint team and I wanted to really make it tricky to guess, I would make a hint that only works properly if you consider the hints given in several languages. As an example: The game is named "Wettrüsten" in german. Thats absolutely no reverance to "mobil" as it's written on the german Twitter. Someone who only read the English hint would miss the German reference to the English game name. Someone who only read the German hint would miss the reference to the English game name. Someone who knew the English game name and read the German translation would say "AHA! Sneaky buggers!", or maybe just "But translations aren't exact and Jagex are to stupid to make clever hints! Onoes!". Not saying it's certain, but do you really think Jagex are too stupid to know how to translate properly, and to realise some of it's players might do it this way? Of course, it could be a red herring, or a co-incidence, but hey... Leave no stone unturned, eh? They wouldn't do this for one simple reason. To give different clues in different languages could cause them to be somewhat exclusionary to those who can only read and interpret a single language. By giving different clues to different groups, they aren't providing information fairly to all their players. Therefore I restate my position that the twitters in different languages are meant to say the exact same thing. Edit: Also you mistook me if you thought I meant Jagex was too stupid to translate properly. It's the players that are too stupid. Basically it's like this. Jagex is an English company. All original content is written in english, and then translated into other languages. These players are then translating back to english and seeing new words. Well duh idiots. Example: English - I like to wear my fancy purple trousers. German - Ich mag meine Lust zu tragen lila Hosen. Back to English - I like my desire to wear purple trousers.

  7. Whatever; the change in words could help someone see the information differently and at the worst the information is repeated. It's nothing to get so wound up over. I'm going to go with Paw Claw there. The hints "mean" the exact same thing. The problem people are having here is that when you translate from one language to another, a direct translation will often leave you with something that says and means something completely different. That's where interpretation comes in. Professional translators figure out the meanings of the phrases they are translating, so that they are able to convert it into a phrase with the same meaning in another language. The biggest problem here, and what Paw Claw is trying to point out, is that the translations people have gotten for the Twitter hints are probably all direct translations given by things such as Google Translation software, or babelfish, or another similar program. While these programs can be helpful for getting direct translations, and then trying to puzzle out what they actually mean, You obviously can never trust them to give you the correct meaning for any phrase you enter into them. Either way, it's all the same clue. It's just written in multiple languages, which noobs with google translate and see that they don't match 100% and go off the deep end about how it's something new and different.
  8. Memes are old and unfunny. Never forget. By the way, wdf is twitter :) Is it worth checking out? NO! Avoid it like the plague!!
  9. Obviously some of the possible actions were just too much and were damaging the balancing. Jagex had to remove the entire part of the code that was allowing this, they couldn't simply remove it for some things and leave it for others. Overall leaving it would have cause more damage to the game than good. That being said they said some aspects might come back, which could mean that may be writing individual codes for allowing multitasking in some skills where it doesn't unbalance the game. I doubt dropping while fishing or wcing or mining will come back, as that makes powerleveling too easy and may open the door for more goldfarming. However I think we can probably expect weapon and gear switching.
  10. Seriously, I want to know what the hell his deal was. To be honest though, the sheer scope of possibilities could make a sequel extremely interesting.
  11. No....Just no Lulz not a fan of Rag and Bone man? I do think it could be hinting at some kind of continuance to Rag and Bone man. The quest was annoying as hell, but I'd still like to see a sequel so we can find out what the hell was going on.
  12. Abandoned Monsters + Gravestones = Dead monsters? Dead monsters = Bones Rag and Bone Man 2?!?!?!!? =D
  13. Had of is horrible grammar. It's simply "wish i had." Going along with that, the term is never should of, or could of. It's always should have, or could have. I wish so badly that people would learn this simple grammar issue. Anyway on topic. FFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  14. mousekeys are slightly different than macros, as there is still room for movement outside the program. The macro detection programs most likely look for repeated patterns in a player's action. That being said, I still don't recommend using them. Seems to be too big a risk for too little benefit.
  15. Damn it all to hell. That was a useful change.
  16. 1. This belongs here viewforum.php?f=81 2. It's just......well for lack of a better word, dumb.
  17. Also against people who prayer switch in FOG while running away. It'll be nice to switch from my ss to my crossbow without missing a step, the only problem is switching to mage you still have to set it to autocast. Setting staves to remember your last autocast would be immensely helpful as far as that's concerned.
  18. Thats why there is an (Optional) Detailed Description :P lulz, quoted for truth. How do you miss that?
  19. I just wanted to reply to something you said Raven. Off topic, but the thread has 24 pages anyway so what does it really matter? Bigfoot and Nessie(were they real) would have to be highly intelligent to have evaded capture, or even decent recording, for so long. Elvis, was one of the most popular, and still one of the most universally recognized musical icons in history. He was so damn good at what he did that they let his [wagon] keep doing it after he inflated like a damn weather balloon. As far as homer Simpson, I take it you never saw the episode where he had the crayon removed from his nose and turned out to be some sort of super genius? Either way the sheer fact that he's still alive and kicking after the years of misadventures he's been through kinda lends a bit to his ingenuity. That being said, Jagex's QA and customer support have always been sub par. I'm hoping that will change in the future, but to be honest I wouldn't really put my chips on it. Finally, if what someone said about changing ID's to combat autoers is true, then it may be possible that they can't make an announcement until they're done sorting out that issue.
  20. Question like how Master_Smither asked should even have to happen, Jagex the company and staff should have thought this loophole could have come to this. It isn't Mod Mat K to the rescue. It's more Jagex finally trying to answer the public's outcry about this issue.....two years later. Your post is pretty exceptionally difficult to make sense of considering english obviously isn't your native language. With that in mind I'm not going to try to address much of what you said, and only respond to the concept of Jagex being a step behind. This is a natural and expected condition in a game like this. With a player base in the hundreds of thousands and even millions, it is much more likely that players will stumble upon bugs and loopholes in the system, than that they will be found by Jagex staff members. That's just simple probability.
  21. I think the best bet we have here would be withe wizards tower or Mobilizing armies. I'm honestly starting to doubt mobilizing armies will ever come out though. Honestly I'd really love to see Jagex introduce a new minigame in the style of a Tower defense. I always loved TD's playing warcraft 3 online.
  22. I think we all agree the G.E. should be dynamic, however you have to be out of your mind if you think that buyouts were anywhere close to as widespread or severe as they are today. Back the it was IMPOSSIBLE to buy out an entire stock as you could never find an entire stock. There would always be people who still had some and were still selling. Now the vast majority of all transactions(especially bulk transactions) take place in the G.E. due to the greater range of prices available when compared to player to player trading. The fact that it's a one stop shop for manipulators makes it possible for them to achieve buyouts on a scale that was completely unheard of pre-G.E. In fact I think it's safe to say that before the G.E. the average player had never even heard of clan manipulation. The fact that there was no central market pre-G.E. meant that if someone was price gouging, a player could almost always find someone willing to sell for a more reasonable price. As far as half wines got, it's totally irrelevant as there is no practical use for a half wine, so the only people interested in buying these were usually other merchants. Also if the only argument you've seen against them concerns not being able to buy immediately, then I strongly suggest you work on your reading comprehension skills, or possibly go to an optometrist.
  23. Your idea would never work as it would make people have the option of buying "rare" items that aren't on the market. Rares would cease to exist and their prices would plummet. This idea would have a hugely detrimental effect on the economy of runescape as a whole.
  24. Well the image is obviously a castle turret. So what low level area could we possibly teleport to where there would be castle turrets? also do we have a list of monsters that drop the new herb started yet? I was at abby spectres for a task earlier and didn't get a single one, so.....
