  1. Heh, my first was a wizard, and I remember how to get runes, I would go to the spot in lumby castle, where there was like one mind or body rune that would respawn every minute or so... I gave up on magic soon after :P. I also did the thing where I'd make rangers over and over again, just to drop trade the arrows to my main.
  2. Well, first and most important of all the game is still FUN to me. I've played WoW, EQ, Guild Wars, and many other big and small time MMO's, and I usually lose interest after the first month or two. The only game I've found that even comes close to entertaining me like Runescape is City of Heroes, which I play off and on. By far the best thing about Runescape, for me anyways, is the quests. Each quest actually has it's own unique goals and storyline, you won't find any "Go kill 300 boars", or "Go collect 25 cactus apples", and I like that. It may mean that there aren't as many quests, but it's quality over quanitity, and more are coming all the time. I also like the skills. Each skill is very unique, and comes with it's own rewards. And the skills aren't just a little side feature either. If you want, you could play the whole game working on nothing but your skills, and never once touch combat. You won't find many other games with that much work put into non combat skills.
  3. Yeah, I kinda figured... but with how expensive the skill is and everything, I wanted to be absolutely sure first. I'll just go ahead and try it though, see how it works out.
  4. Alright, so let's say we've got a quest hall on the groundfloor, and a staircase going down to a skill hall in the basement. If I build my staircase out of oak now, is there a way I can upgrade it later on without removing one of the rooms? Like can I just remove the staircase and build another one in it's place?
  5. Relax there, they weren't necessarily aimed at you, alright? This is general discussion, aren't we supposed to discuss the topic at hand? (And it's hard to read the little red note, when you make the font so small we can't even read it.)
  6. I don't really farm or hunt much, so I won't comment on those. But personally I'm very happy with how construction turned out. A well equipped house has many useful functions already, but things like an anvil, furnace, and bank would have made it somewhat, er... overpowered I guess. I do like that key idea though, I HATE that I have to be home if any of my friends want to check out my house, use a portal, or whatever.
  7. Haha yeah, I had been leaning towards fire giants all along... I just figured if PC was way faster then I might as well do that, but from what I've read it doesn't sound like it is. Which is just as well, I usually get bored after about 2 games anyways. :wall:
  8. Alright, I'm trying to get my ranged level from 62 up to 70. With the changes to PC, do you think it would be faster just training my ranged at something like fire giants, or attacking with ranged in PC, and putting all my points towards ranged too?
  9. I've been longing for something like this ever since I read about those banned characters on the news page. Because of my rather modest levels, most people never believe me when they ask how long I've been playing - I'd love a way to shut them all up for good. But more than anything, *I'm* just curious how long exactly I've been playing. I can never remember when exactly I started for sure...
  10. I think it's going to depend largely on things like your fishing and WC level, but if I had to guess I'd say the sharks would be best.
  11. Wow, nice find on the Chaos Elemental letter there. I like how it all seemed like random drivel at the time, but looking back everything it mentioned turned out to be some sort of update we'd be getting. That's pretty cool.
  12. Isn't money well spent? That's a matter of opinion. To some of us, how our character looks is important, even to the point of affecting our enjoyment of the game. For others, it's more of a status symbol.
  13. I think this would be the best solution, but the hardest thing to code. Is this in the RSOF suggestions forum? If not I'll post it there. Not as far as I know, post away. I don't have the patience for the RSOF.
  14. Actually, I really like the idea I saw someone post in another thread. You have your actual Health amount seperate from your hitpoint skill. So like, for every level you gain in your hitpoint skill, you gain 3 health. Or maybe up to level 50 you gain 1 per level, then from 51-80 you gain 2 per level, and 80-99 you gain 3 per level. If their engine would allow something like that, I think something like that would be a great solution.
  15. I hate to burst your bubble there, but you can only have one game room at a time, I'm not sure about combat rooms, haven't tried that yet. I was pretty disappointed by that myself, I wanted one with hangman, and one with the treasure hunt or whatever game in it.
  16. Yeah, I don't see why not. They've done it for other skills, why not firemaking? It's always been a skill I really enjoyed, this would only make it better.
  17. Well, according to the skill guide here on Tip.It they do. I have yet to actually try it out myself though.
  18. You go get a big sword and i'll get a 12 gauge, we'll see who 'won't stand a chance' I'm pretty sure he meant our runescape characters
  19. It's without a doubt my favorite skill. It levels fast, it's rewards are awesome, and it's just plain fun. Unfortunately I've only been able to get to level 47 since it's been introduced, but I plan to change that soon. The only drawback is the EXTREME cost, but even that's alright - it encourages me to go work on other skills once in a while!
  20. I've usually got private chat on, go ahead and throw me on the list. Timezone is GMT -6, or Central Standard.
  21. Haha, yes! I remember those days! I remember I chose mage, and I think I started out with a hat, robe top, and maybe a few runes. I remember this one spot in the lumby castle, and another in al kharid where 1 rune would spawn every couple of minutes... I'd sit there for HOURS picking up those things. Heh, I also made quite a few characters with the archer class, just so I could have free arrows. Somewhere I think I've got some pics from back then, I'll do my best to find them. So how many of you people still have your RSC accounts since Jagex changed who could access it? I was lucky enough to have logged on to mine before that happened, but just barely. This thread is so nostalgic, I had to get on and just walk around for a bit ^_^
  22. Yeah, I'll have to agree with the "was-more-interesting-as-just-articles" people. With the articles, I found that most of them were fairly interesting. With most of these letters, I really couldn't care less. *Shrug*
  23. Ahh, nice idea! I came back to RS after like 6 months, and pretty much everyone on my friends list is gone, or deleted me. So my character is Snake Guy, and I guess I'm pretty much a skiller. Oh, and be sure to let me know you're from here, and not just some random guy.
  24. On a random world, usually in the Fishing Guild. If not there, then in the Rogues' den, cooking the fish >_>. That's pretty much my life nowadays.
