You can make the stone before you go in (1 space) and drop it when you're there. ;)

I always set up my Dungeon lvl / complexity to the highest for a maximum amount of exp before joining, I don't know if you can do that at the entrance as well?

If you use the cooking cape spec to get 100 cooking you stop burning them as well I think.
