For Slayer, it's a nice add-on, but you don't really need it. Obviously if you managed to get 40-or-something-million GP then you can get yourself a lot more healing methods (Bunyip, a Guthan set, to name a few). In the GWD dungeon it's a different story, restoring both the stats you eat up the most, although, again, in 2/3 melee boss chambers you can do just fine with a cheaper GS and a Fruit Bat (+) familiar.

It's an adamant crossbow with a special attack, that can also be used to fire bone bolts, on top of every other type of bolts up to adamant. Now I don't recall bone bolts being all that hot for training (or anything at all), so the only consideration you should make if you've 61 Ranged and above is whether you want to bring it to use its special attack, as it's much more comfortable than switching to a bow.

You're best off having no 99s at all than something like Firemaking or Thieving. They're all boring, too. You've 80 or so levels spread over 2 million exp, and the last 19 over 11m, which is just plain grinding. Edit: To be more clear, no suitable matches were found, as the forum would put it.

I'd keep them. Sooner or later you'd want to start skipping tasks, either to aim at something (charms, drops) or because the task sucks (Goraks, Suqahs).

Sure it logs you out regardless of what you're doing? I'd a few long runs in my Runescape career and I don't recall getting a boot in the middle. Many occasions where the damn game would log me off earlier, but not particularly after 6 hours. It sounds a bit illogical, at least nowadays, with the 5-minute AFK timer.

I did giggle actually. Then I read the signature, too. Anyhow, black demons now drop charms everywhere, and at a similar rate to the ones in the Chaos Tunnels. To actually fight them though, you could use the help of ranging potions as they've plenty of HP. In general you can continue doing Slayer tasks with Ranged - it might be slower, but will pay off more in the long run.

Ah. Had just this problem. It's the bound-to-fail Windows and Nvidia combination on low-end cards and laptop chips. What you can try is to set the TdrDelay registery value that's mentioned there to 8. I did it, and what I got is that the card hangs for 8 seconds, instead of 2, then the screen goes blank. In any case, if you ask me the culprit is crappy drivers, although I bet Nvidia's medium and high-end (100$+ and 300$+ respectively) range of cards don't suffer from it. What I did is ditch Vista and downgrade to good old Windows XP, although the Windows 7 Beta doesn't seem to suffer from it either. These are pretty much your only options. You can try and tweak the registry even more, maybe even turning the TDR off, but I doubt that'll help.

Slayer with Duradel if you don't want to get bored to death. You're much better off getting Slayer up (and earning a dime while at it) while training Summoning instead of just having mediocre levels in both. It's take a lot of camping to get it to those high level.

Not ~Indeapth~, and incorrect. And where would these numbers come from? The numbers come from how the attacker get's their offensive powers. Didn't make sense to me at all. Additionally, based on what you determine that magic accuracy is so armour-relied or that a mage tank is ineffective?

Basically I want to get this into a variable, so I could break it into an array. I tried it with PHP first, but the hosting service blocked access to pages outside the domain, and I just can't find a way (that works) to do it with Javascript. Would appreciate any suggestions. Edit: Switched to a different hosting service and used PHP after all.

The Slayer helm adds up the 15% to your stats, including if they're boosted, then Piety adds its own boost to the overall of the combined. As for the dragon slayer gloves, I've no idea at what point they boost your stats. My guess is prior to the Slayer helm.

Well it's worth putting in perspective, yah? At balanced stats for example, melee is indeed more powerful, but to call it unjustfully overpowered would be overreacting. To its defence, it's three skills packed into one, so of course you'd want more bang for your buck. On the less brighter side, it's hand-to-hand and it's weak against magic. Now people say BUT MELLERS CAN WEAR DHIDE NOES!!!, well that makes them more vulnerable to both ranged and melee attacks. This combat-triangle nonsense works when all sides are dressed up to their full potential, and when mixed gear kicks in, you can't complain about that. As for max hit, you'll be very lucky to hit these 70s with any combat style, and don't give me that crap I HIT MAX ALL TEH TIME. Picking on a guy 50 levels lower than you in Clan Wars isn't something worth bragging about. What else... Ah, the ranger-tank which supposedly hits meleers very often. Well they don't. Barrows armour and a proper shield is all that necessary, and I can tell you that out of experience from both defence and offence. However, like in melee vs melee, they are hard to hit, and will hit eventually, so there you go. Lastly, magic. A fully equipped mage will hit, and hit fairly often. 20 seconds of freeze is enough to land 7 hits, and at least some of them are bound to hit through the magic defence. I'm assuming that the meleer doesn't have a bow, otherwise it's, again, unrelated to solely melee.
