  1. Well I'm training Prayer, and getting bored in the process, so I went over to the game guide to look at it a bit. Found this: Directly taken from this page: http://www.runescape.com/kbase/guid/prayer_the_basics I searched the RSOF for any speculations and couldn't find a thing, so it's either very new, or very old. Might we be getting something new?
  2. I liked the looks of the previous forum a lot more (the blend with the website), but I s'pose it could be worse.
  3. The ones that hit high use Ranged (the hand-held cannons), with the Dworges being melee common-hitters. You'd be able to last there for quite a time, just don't expect to get many (or at all) Dworge kills, which at the moment rumored to be the best way to get the pickaxe. The chaos cannon dwarfs are rumored to drop it as well, and there's more of them there.
  4. It's a battlefield. Assuming you are the only player in the cave, you'll have multiple monsters (some that hit up to the mid 30s, and often) attacking you. Currently the area is crowded as hell. You'll have to have high combat stats if you want to snatch a kill, and even so, the drop rate is very rare. I personally went through 100 dry kills, with another player claimed being there for 8 hours and not getting the pickaxe.
  5. Okey dokey. I'll try to find a way around in. Thanks for the help.
  6. I don't load the actual page, but just the code behind it (around 17kb). Loading them up to the price point reduces the size by 3kb, which is still a problem. I'm mainly looking for a sort of indexing site or service that can reduce or eliminate loading multiple pages.
  7. C#. I already did it, the problem is that it takes a lot of time to load (72 pages for the specific application, 1-2 seconds each).
  8. Got down to page 3 so I believe I'm eligible to bump this (?).
  9. Is there a way to access item prices in the manner it works with the Hiscores (for example, like this), or at least a quick way to get the price instead of loading the whole page? I'm pretty sure it's possible, judging by the High Alch w/GE Compare Calculator here.
  10. Nope. The Bandos armour isn't worth the money you'd be blowing for it, and it's enough to make a simple comparison (between this and this this) to see why. Now, I'm not saying it's bad to toy with it (hell, I even have it), but 33.5m for crappy defence and a Strength bonus that doesn't do much isn't worth all that effort.
  11. You'll pull off about 3-4 kills without much trouble. I recommend you try the Accurate style too.
  12. Just fine as long as you aim at moderate-level teams. In fact, the so-called high-level hypocrites won't let you join just because of that one missing ranging part.
  13. You'd have a better chance of reverse engineering the game's code than figuring out how that ring works or what's behind it (referring to this list). Only thing that's know is, they say it works, we think it doesn't, but we'll keep wearing it anyway because of what we heard.
  14. You get to kill loads of stuff, naturally. More to that though, it's these main factors: 1. The sense of accomplishment when you get the ability to kill something new. 2. The sense of achievement when you gain a level in a combat skill, which happens frequently with Slayer. 3. The sheer joy of receiving a rare drop (mystic robes for example, not necessarily a unique item).
  15. Kills me you keep calling these wanna-bees 'hackers'. Talking Runescape, you can't do these sort of cracking on the RS servers (it'll most likely ban your IP after a few failed tries), and the likelihood of getting a hold of the files that actually have the hashes is in question as well. Anyways, as mentioned, it's a bad idea having your password a dictionary word - because it takes half a second to compare the whole book to your pass - but random English letters are just fine. Just for the record, a 12-chars password consisting of English letters and numbers has 4,738,381,338,321,616,896 variations, plenty to cover any brute force attacks.
  16. Actually, I just moved to a completely different area. I am now using a broadband connection instead of a wireles connection. I couldn't tell you what the model of my router is, but I would be happy to find out if you could tell me how to figure it out. Try this site: http://portforward.com/ Here you could find how to configure a static IP address: http://www.portforward.com/networking/staticip.htm Briefly put, I believe your router blocks any non open and redirected ports when you get a dynamic IP address - your home network, the router, probably assigns a new IP address by default each time you connect. I could be wrong, mind you. If Runescape is the only thing that lags then it might be a crappy ISP. Your starting point should be plugging a laptop or a different computer to the router and see whether the problems continue.
  17. Just to get a bit more info: - Are you using a static IP address (to connect to your router)? Also, what's the router's model? - Has this problem started occurring spontaneously?
  18. No. It's Leetscape. But I don't have time for grindcore nowadays so I find the difficulty level to my liking.

Preferably replacing the Neitiznot helm with Verac's, making it the 4th item kept on death, with much better stats.
  20. OMG, i never thought of that. Thanks for telling me... [/sarcasm] I cant watch vids, but i play just fine on dialup. And i can also close all my windows to have less a chance at lag. Wow, some one trys to help you out and possibly save you from dieing, and you just shoot him down and act like an [wagon]? He had no way of knowing that you can play fine on dial up. Maybe you should mention that dial up doesn't effect your playing in your main post, otherwise other people who are conserned on you dieing might say something, and you might have to be a jerk again. Throwing baseless suggestions won't save his life, even if ignoring that his reply wasn't helping at all. As for the original topic, if it's not for pure sportsmanship, it isn't worth soloing Graardor due to lame drops, the crowd (non-LS worlds are packed too, either with teams or would-be soloers) and number of kills per trip.
  21. Not in particular. There are two main uses for it (as you already know), none of which is awfully popular, and that makes borrowers hard to find.
  22. There you go: http://www.runescape.com/kbase/viewarti ... le_id=1991 As simple as that. Only advices I have is not to expect to kill Jad in your first attempt, and when you do manage to get there, you're best off looking for him than the other way around (as some guides suggest you hide and wait for him). I personally managed to get a cape on my 3rd and 4th runs, with the overall cost being about 30 prayer potions and some food - so don't exaggerate with your equipment and inventory either (again referring to certain guides blowing this thing out of proportion).
  23. Which is a unique way of thinking many Runescape players don't share. The latter.
  24. I think Strength, Thieving and Woodcutting are crappy capes too, if it makes you feel better. There are a few factors that make me (not to force an opinion on people) think of one skill to be worth less - the main ones being how common the cape is, how hard is it to achieve, and maybe the most important one, is the skill itself. Take Firemaking for example. Saying you got it either because you like the skill or some parts of it is lying to yourself, or Fletching, which is like Firemaking, except that you don't move as much. Strength for example, is hated purely by popularity, along with people that are way too happy (they will tell you happy they are) with it. In general, I believe that all this grinding should be dedicated to a skill you like, which I doubt is any of the above.
