    Today...

Got an F in English because I turned my rough draft in late and it didn't get put on the interim. Then I got some [cabbage] (but logical) speech from my stepdad about how I can't manage the little things in life. Before that speech, I was actually having a fairly good day. Really cute girl in my gym class and I'm contemplating talking to her. :o
  2. Nadril, I think you did misunderstand me. My computer is IDE compatible and I'm very certain my mobo doesn't have a SATA port.
  3. I guess my main reason was that not many hard drives are still IDE(like my system) compatible and the same goes with mobo's.
  4. Is there a hard drive compatibility to crucial.com? If you don't know what Crucial is, it's basically a site that can scan your computer and see what RAM works with your system. I am wondering if there is something that gives the same thing for hard drives (and graphics cards maybe?). Thanks ahead of time.
  5. We had the same problem with our cable modem. When tech support came they couldn't even fix the thing so we switched to DSL. Based off my experiences...it probably just went bad over time.
  6. Banned for having a more creative sig but only having 2 posts. :(

    Today...

For being Friday the 13th, I actually had a really good day (until I got home, but no surprise there). My day went by really quick and I'm not really sick anymore so I felt much better. Got through all my classes really swiftly (except math) and the end of the school day came quickly. Also me and the girl I like (she likes me also) talked and decided we should actually go out, so all in all, it was a great day. :)
  8. Frankly, I can't picture that kid and that girl lieing on a bed thrusting. He barely has the looks of someone who's balls have dropped and his voice hasn't even deepened yet, so I really can't see that boy ejaculating. IT'S A HOAX@@@
  9. The first page of this thread consists of posts that were made before Vista was even out. Even with this being a "good" topic, it should've been remade months or maybe even a year or more ago.
  10. Make sure you have sandpaper (to make sure the edges fit and you don't hurt yourself), blowtorch/welding gear (to make the metal bits stay) some static electricity generators in order to start your PC for the first time ever. Don't forget a hammer to pound the pieces together  ..And some duct tape to keep the processor on the mobo.
  11. Yeah I know Macs aren't really good for gaming but good for companies that do 4D designing and crap like that. The other option was 4 NVIDIA 9800(?) cards. Wonder if those would be good. :P
  12. I know this isn't from the listed sites nor is it the cheapest but since this is a fun thread I thought I'd post the most expensive computer I could find/make. # CPU - Two 3.2GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon # RAM - 32GB (8x4GB) (Most expensive part of the whole thing) # Mac Pro RAID Card # HDD - 1TB 7200-rpm Serial ATA 3Gb/s x4 # Graphics Card - NVIDIA Quadro FX 5600 1.5GB # CD Drives - Two 16x SuperDrives - ~$100 each # Monitor #1 - Apple Cinema HD Display (30" flat panel) - $1,799.00 each # Monitor #2 - Apple Cinema HD Display (30" flat panel) All of this (and a few things not listed) came to a total of $26,958.95 Someone buy one and send it to me@@@ And please tell me what someone is going to do with 32GB of RAM?
  13. Bestbuy is almost always the last to take the price down on anything they sell. Like video games will be 5 to 10 dollars less at Gamestop and Wal-Mart weeks before it's even a few dollars less at Bestbuy. Didn't notice the HDD on the HP is only 5400. I'll look for something that is at least 7200. I hate slow boot up. =/
  14. Looked at the HP again today and realized that maybe I should get a bit more processing speed. I was thinking the max, or is that not really necessary.
  15. http://www.shopping.hp.com/webapp/shopping/computer_can_series.do?storeName=computer_store&category=notebooks&a1=Category&v1=Entertainment+powerhouse&series_name=dv7t_series That look like a good choice? (or any alteration of it)
  16. If I do end up going with a computer leaned more towards games, then I will probably go with ASUS, but if I don't HP is probably my next choice. Been checking them out and they look nice. The only thing with ASUS is that they don't have 17" versions. It goes from 16.4" to 18", which is odd considering 17" is one of the most popular.
  17. I do agree those laptops do look a bit odd, and they are still a bit small compared to what I want (17"). Also Laura, nice post count. :P (1337)
  18. I don't get it. Why didn't they just make the already released versions of Vista faster instead of wasting their time making something else?
  19. Thanks OldJoe, looked at those you suggested. And the mouse being in an "odd" spot won't be a problem with me since I will be using a Logitech MX Revolution mouse that I already have with it.
  20. @Nadril When you say PC Replacement I guess that is pretty much what I want. 17 screen is really the minimum I want and Im getting tired of being in the same spot for hours at a time on my old, old, old PC. Also, I was thinking of buying a decent laptop(250GB HDD, 4GB RAM, ~2.5Ghtz, etc) and then just take apart my old PC and put a bunch of newer parts in it during my freetime. @Makoto You misunderstood what I said. I never said I was in the AF yet, but rather I said I will be going to BMT over the summer and then tech school. Deciding whether I want the portability of a laptop of the customization of a PC.
  21. Hey tip.it, don't really post here much but have gotten tired of the lack of help on other forums I am more active on. What I really want to know what would be the best choice for me. I am considering either building my own computer, buying an iMac, or getting a good laptop. For building my computer: I have never built a computer it is something I would like to get into, so if you could provide sites that may help me in actually building the computer that would be great. I already know of all the sites that have the components. iMac: My parents have one and it is pretty fast, so I ask - is it really worth the $1500 Mac is charging for it? And is it good for casual gaming or other? Also, is it easy to install non-Mac made mice on these? The mouse that comes with it is a piece of [cabbage] if you ask me... Laptop: I've been looking at a lot of gaming laptop sites and have come to the realization that those damn things cost a lot. I don't really need a computer that can play Crysis (although it would be nice), but it should definitely be able to play RSHD very smoothly. The main issue is that I will be shipping out for Air Force basic training over the summer and then I have tech school. So if anyone has experience with moving around a lot (or military experience) with a computer/laptop, please feel free to share how you dealt with it. I know I will be moving around a lot and I may need a laptop in school or whatever. Thanks, Chaise.
  22. Recently I have been thinking about getting some extra money from the Kingdom of Miscellania(sp?). I was reading up on the Kingdom (for the hundredth time) and finally came to the conclusion that that money would be really, really nice. So I was wondering, could anyone give me advice as to maybe how much money I should start out with or which thing I should focus on. Anything would be nice. :) By the way, money isn't an issue.
