Jagex lieing or me overmissing something? (CLOSE)
Tom_Servo replied to Dire_Wolf's topic in General Discussion
Those pictures are from the character to NPC chat screens. And yes they did look like that before July 1st. As for the new ones, I suggest turning on your Anti-Aliasing or adjusting your resolution. -
About the running part: Have you ever run or seen someone running? If you had then you would know that runners use their arms and do not shuffle with their arms to their side like there is a rod up their butt like the old animation was like. The new animation is much more realistic and dynamic. I didn't like the new movements much at first either, but the more I saw them, the more I realized just how better they are. Anyway....This thread is turning into a flame-fest and needs to be locked.

Can I copy cache files from one OS to another?
Tom_Servo replied to alcoolj's topic in Tech and Computers
I thought I read somewhere on another thread that you could do this to transfer settings or something and it does work. Could be remembering wrong though. At any rate it can't hurt. If it doesn't work then it doesn't work and you can just delete it and I don't think the different OS versions would be an issue as long as the file format is the same, and I think they are. I've transfered saved game data and other stuff from '95 to XP and it worked. I say go for it, you have nothing to lose and everything to gain. -
I think that it is just an effect to make the Wilderness spookier. There seems to be a story behind it though. If I find/hear something I'll post it here.

Post all RS Screenshots, Videos, and Sounds here!
Tom_Servo replied to misterxman's topic in General Discussion
I'm going to have to disagree. WoW looks cartoony, childish, and cheap with it's on par texturing and un-proportional jagged characters. RuneScape's charters may look kind of like Gumby men, but if you take into account the dynamic character movement, the detailed texturing, and most importantly the dynamic lighting and shadows, I think RuneScape wins. -

This is definitely one of the best RS videos I have ever seen! -
There's only one problem with all those soldiers. China doesn't have the food to feed them all. Add that to the probability of their supply line being cut if they were to invade, and they are toast. The U.S. on the other hand does have the food to feed all of our soldiers *cough obesity*. The defender AlWAYS has the advantage though, so if the U.S. tried to invade, the army would be engulfed. We also have the advantage of nuclear ICBMs and bombers. The Cold War may be over, but we still have nuclear bombers and missiles aimed at Russia ready to go 24/7 365 days a year incase things go sour over there. All that we would have to do is change the destination. In additon to that, the U.S. has many military installations in Eastern Europe and the Pacific whereas China has none. If it came to a war of whoever strikes first wins, the U.S. would win. Also about the size of the Nuclear bombs; The size of the Hiroshima bomb compared to the others mean nothing. Those statistics are out of date, and bigger does not mean better. There are now hydrogen bombs 1000's of times more powerful than those. Plus the U.S. has hundreds of Nuclear missiles at the ready. Sure maybe 1 metropolitan area is destroyed by the Tzar Bomba, but every city in their country would be destroyed. Here's a map of the allegiances I think other countries would make. Please keep in mind that I only based this on my (non expert) knowlege of American allies and that in reality China is an ally of the U.S. [hide=][/hide]

Igonrant Parents in on RWT As Well!
Tom_Servo replied to MicroLegionnaire's topic in General Discussion
I don't think so because the complaint was toward the RWT company that he parent thought was part of Jagex. They just got scammed and played for chumps, which apparently they were. -
I think if China and the U.S. went to war conventionally, China would win simply with sheer numbers. But if you account for the United States' butt load ICBM nuclear weapons, strong(ish) missile defense, and superior air force and navy it could easily go either way. Most likely it would be a bitter stalemate with neither side gaining a foothold in either ones main land, or what is left of it.

Granted. While on a trip to Earth to abduct people you are shot down by a F-35 and then found and beaten by rednecks with the butts of their shotguns and then shot. Repeatedly. Your corpse is then sold to some alien conspiracy freak who happens to be a necrophiliac. I wish I never get sick.

The only issue with RuneScape, as far as speed is concerned, is how fast the log in screen will load. Other than that, they are all pretty much the same and is only affected by internet speed. Firefox 3 is the fastest browser, but crashes. A LOT. I also find the UI bulky, and difficult to navigate (different themes can fix how ugly it is). In second place is Safari which is much more reliable and, in my opinion, has an excellent UI which is slim-line and easy to use. Then comes IE which is also very reliable and MUCH more customizable than Firefox as to what features you DON'T want/need. I personally use Safari because of how good the UI is and its speed. If your computer isn't very good I would suggest using IE 6 or 7 as it was made for computers that aren't particularly good and can actually run with very little resources if you slim it down a bit. As for the nay-sayers because of security; guess what guys? Doesn't matter. A browser can have absolutely NO protection and nothing will happen as long as you have an up-to-date antivirus. A browser isn't a antivirus system.

When I started there weren't any Lumbridge guides/tutors. Once you got of Tutorial Island, you were on your own. It was really kind of intimidating now that I think about it.

I did when I was new ...... But I was led to believe that because instead of somebody telling me that the item was untradeable/members only they either wouldn't trade me, didn't take the take to say that, or call me a "noob".
