Who would be forced to quit? and why would they be forced to quit? If anyone quits over this, they make a choice to leave, it's not a forced action. We are talking about rares being taken out - people will quit over that if they suddenly lose everything

qeltar, think for a second what you are saying and then imagine oyu are the person who is forced to quit over how things change, for arguments sake. Would you still be singing the same tune? One thign I dont like is people not really caring until it hits too close to home. I honestly feel bad for people that are getting screwed so bad and might get screwd over future updates :(

Good thing there is a lot of other good games outthere then. It will be funny seing mass exodus of top players over their upcoming stupid updates.

Unless rares are physicall made untrdable and stated so by jagex they wont be taken out. If they are taken out unless players are compensated almost every single person who owns rares will quit. Sure, considering the overall amoiunt of players that play it will be insignificant, but then again, considering that with phats only top richest players (mots of whome are also skillers) own them that will be quite a bit of good people quitting and possibly their friends quitting. Do you really think jagex is THAT stupid to kill their own game? People are posting propaganda because they tehmselves cant afford one so they are making all sorts of islly lies up. Just wait till this whole thing blows over phats will be back up higher htan they were by xmas!

Just to point out, you don't need to do this anymore because of the assist system... so I see your point about the gifts, but there is no need to complain about anything else. Its not about level requirments but physical help to make up for time and such.

Um... you completely msis the point. I plant my own herb seeds and then have friends plant htem for me. This way I get a lot more herbs and my friends get farming exp. I have friends smelt for me because I dont have hte time to do it myslf, what does assist have to do with any of this!? He means how you could just assist your friends to let them do this but i'm pretty sure that wouldn't work. They would be high enough level and just want the materials, correct? Assist wouldn't work then. Yup, its not about level neede dto plant its about planting 2x as many in same time-frame. Just an example no need to get hung up on it.

monsieur_mal, thats my point. But even on these forums ive seen logics such as rares are the root of all evil and good riddance about staking. So reasoning like this wouldnt shock me either.

Not like I really care. And the discussion is in the fact that something that was presented to be really good and people anticipated turned out to be something completely different. Makes you wonder about other things that were promised.

Who said anything about sueing? Im not a staker either. I just find it a bit funny how they called it fantastic. I was reading the thread that was describing what htey had planned for november and caught that part. Wouldnt you agree that its kinda funny how they presented it and how it turned out? And also, do you honestly think they expected people to be happy over killing staking....

So if I were banned id simply move on to other things. Now, im not saying id be happy about it or I want it to happen, but if it does what can you do?

Ok, but they were presenting it to players as fantastic. Its not about how they feel about it, its about how the players do. They misrepresented and false advertised and called it fantastic, making people excited. Yup, everyone is happy and excited alright.

It would be hillarious if I get banned over supporting my friends crafting and farming with mysupplies, or having my friends free smelt for me.

At the rate at which jagex seems to combat RWT do you think it is possible that they might come up with a decision to disalow gifts? Or to be more exact, unfair trades, which can include things like... Free smelting Helping out your friends with skills or items Alching for someone else Etc... I mean these things constantly happen between good friends. I personally have friends who smelt for me to help me get bars, who plant my seeds for me to help me get me herbs, and so forth. I mean at this point nothing jagex might do would surprise me, but something like this will be a huge inconvinience.

I finally understand qeltars way of thinking. He operates under the assumption that everyone should be equal and equally wealthy (a sort of communist look on things). Unfortunately, that can not owrk for 1 simple reason, same reason that communism failed. You have your smart people and not so smart, hard working and lazy. Everyone is different and as such can not be equal and trying to force equality will only make the matters worst.

The fact that they are tradeable is exactly why they say nothing about the longevity of their owners. Even without cheating at all, I could start a new character today and own a Burger King hat within a month. Qeltar, I strongly insist that you answer this for me. You claim to be a smart economist yet you dont have the foresite to see that party hat is a financial investment. You condemn them and all the party hat owners and still you dont see how it can be a big investment. You are contradicting yourself when you talk about your economic knowledge and achievements yet condemn the single best investment in game.

I'm always honest about my views and have never hidden my disdain for the greed-oriented aspects of the game, including the obsession some have over silly paper hats. I do note that once again, you have resorted to personal attacks rather than addressing the topic of the thread. Please enlighten me with your infinite wisdom - how is that a person attack? Sinse you consider yourself to be righteous the only color coming out of your posts is white eh? You didn't work hard for your $, by your own admission. You bought some junk, left for three years, and when you got back found that it was worth more. There are millions of players who work a lot harder and never get a fraction of that amount of $. Seeing some correction in the game so that those who are already wealthy cannot watch their wealth endlessly spiral upwards to never-ending heights is a good thing. So um lets see here. #1 Who are you to judge? 2 - 3 years ago when I bought them the amount of $ it took was equally as impressive as the amount of $ they are worth now, but sinse I was absent for so long I was rather pleased at how much they have gone up. 3 years ago having 200-300 mil was a big deal, the market wasnt as flooded with $ as it is now. Basing your judgement on cluelesness makes one look clueless and ingnorant. #2 Second part of your statement is once again pure jealousy, I cant justify it in any other way. I wasnt talking about me in this particular post. If you take away my hats ill still be insainely rich due to extreme amount of supplies for skills I have bought. And I didnt buy them from selling phats, I dont intend to sell or trade my phats ever - they are a staple of achievement for me. All the stuff I get I get through additional work. Only time will tell if they truly are serious or not. Rares is not a problem, envy and jealousy are. Killing rares would be an extremely stupid thing to do on part of jagex because so many people will quit (due to losing a lot of $ or their fun aspect aka merchanting). So when they see another big hit to their montly income theyw ill quickly rethink their strategy. I personally dont mind if I lose my rares, I can quit and not care about it. In the Netherlands in 1636, tulips were the best investment in the world. We all know how that turned out (for those who don't). You never stop to amaize me with just how off topic and poorly though out your response scan be. This being a good example. Its a good thing that we live in 1636 and are buying tulips... No! we are talking about game and real people playing the game. Same. I wanted this and exchange so bad, now I am so worried I am thinking of panic selling my rares and panic buying raw materials before exchange update. I wish Paul would post something reassuring about how exchange will be. Likewise, this gave me flashbacks to the really bad updates like sleeping bags...they never reversed that and it hurt all players just so they could "stop autoers." Sleeping bags never stopped autoers and price caps on stake duels won't stop RWT. I strongly encourage you not to panic and do so. Unless rares are made untrdable they will always go up in price. As for raw materials chances are when GE first comes out and everyone rushes in there to sell it will cause oversupply and price decrease. Ofcourse, its up to you, all I can do is suggest.

Being a "symbol of wealth" doesn't change the fact that Burger King hats are useless -- i.e., have no use. And they don't. They are not a sign of long term play, for reasons known to everyone. Ah, but see, here's the rub. This "storing GP" thing is at the heart of the matter. If you buy something useless that's worth millions because you want to use it as an "investment" then you should be prepared that sometimes investments lose value. They "look awesome"? :lol: They are silly little paper hats, like the ones you get from Burger King. They are only "adored" by people because of the cult following that has built up over their rarity. If they weren't discontinued, people would laugh at anyone who wore one. What person takes joy in the fact that a lot of people who worked hard for their $ (read as doing what they consider fun in the game) end up losing a lot of it (not that they will, because being a self proclaimed economist still doesnt mean you know anything about runescape economy). Operating under the phylosophy that anybody who doesnt skill shouldnt have $ is just so self centered and selfish. Its a good thing that rares will always go up due to the fact that no matter what happens there is still a very limited supply of them. Keep up these posts qeltar. As for everybody else: Rares and in particular party hats are a staple of wealth in this game. Countless people work really hard in order to be able to afford a partyhat or atleast a santa or a mask. Also, rares are by far the best investment in this game. Before quitting I bought 24 of them for less than the price of purple today. Anybody who says otherwise is just seeking attentnion and displaying ignorance. Hopefuly nobody believes tehse false previews and jealousy-filled statements.
