Exclusive Content
Now that we have switched from why some people dislike high level content, to what is, and to what extent we need high level content, I have several more points to make. 1.) Numerous people, including myself don't train certain skills for the simple reason that there is no real REASON to, as in no future content we want access too. I don't actively train RC since there is nothing down the line I want access too. Sure, double nats would be nice I s'pose. But its not worth TRYING to get. Now, if 90+ RCing helped me even a quarter to a half as much as 96 herb does, I'd have some motivation to train it. TL;DR High level content increases playing of certain skills, such as the increased number of people who got 95+ herb/prayer after those updates. 2.) Exclusive content rewards people for training a skill before there was a reason. If people know high level content will EVENTUALLY come out, they will train a skill before the update. Dave, I have all that stuff, san rares. I play for goals. Meeting a setting goals is what I find fun. But I need some reason to set a goal. Arbitrary levels (87 rc for example) Isn't my idea of a fun goal.

chatoic rapier, charging it
Also depends on how much you value tokens. Right now, I have all the weps I want as well as rewards. So I might as well trade tokens for charges. If one was dging just for tokens they ye, spend gp.

Because, if I really DIDN'T want to train those 40 hours, I wouldn't have done it. I havn't enjoyed every single second of every single skill I've trained. But I train skills because I enjoy them (DG) or to unlock content I enjoy (99 prayer, herb, etc)

I kinda meant "you" as in all near maxed players and the like. Which are still a tiny proportion of the RS population. It's a tiny proportion of the RS population because there's no incentive to get there. Plenty of people (I know a few personally) have low total levels and focus on PKing and boss hunting because that's all that matters. They have herblore, prayer, combat, and whatever skills they need for quests with good rewards, and that's about it. I guarantee if we saw more decent content in the top 50% of more skills, average total level would skyrocket. Which is part of why I want this.

Kurity, it wouldn't be for only XPX, it would be for others who are maxed combat or skills etc.

Racheya hasn't posted in the last 2 pages...this feels extremely random. It was to her post on page 3. I can't be on TIF 24/7. I'm not saying we need more high level content people, I'm asking why do some people hate it so much?

@ Racheya, I APPLAUD you for ONCE AGAIN 100% MISSING THE POINT! I didn't say we need more high level content as the only point I'm making. I'm asking why people HATE IT SO MUCH. As such, your whole argument is MOOT.

Exclusive Content
I agree. But still, no one has given a good argument for WHY exclusive, or even high level content is bad. Yes, more lower-mid level players can access content, so that is what is developed. But there is a lack of very high level content, which is my point. Why do people think they DESERVE to be able to play all content? I wish there were some content with meaning which I couldn't access. I wish there were 110 dungeneoneering armor, etc. So again, why is it bad that you can't access content? Why should the questpoint cape only require ~70 level skills to get? I do remember being a noob. (For me, noob is not an insult by any means, its just a description. ) I wish Gio could get his special content for having 99 agility. (Cape doesn't count, its mainly aesthetic) Heck, I wouldn't mind if dragon defender required 80+ all stats to get! I don't mind low to mid level content. FOG is fun, at times. But I'm asking 2 things: 1.) Why the dislike for high level or exclusive content 2.) Why isn't there any?

Pro DGing
The question is, should you bind a HHB if you are under 100 DG? You lose much use to your team all the way to 100.

Its suddenly mature to want high level grind content and complain about all the low level content. But immature to argue the opposite? At least low level content gets accessed by everyone. Not the select few who bend over and grind for hundreds of hours. Maybe im alone in this feeling, but ive always wondered if the game would be better if level 99 required maybe 3-6 million XP (or less), instead of 13 million. The length of time it takes for some of the higher leveled skills, especially the tedious ones like RC, has always seemed a bit excessive. Look at it this way, I have twice your total xp in 1 skill alone (Attack) and the same amount in several skills, including dungeoneering. If anything, the amount of xp for a 99 is rather on the low end. The reason higher "end" skills have any respect is because of the time to get them. If slayer capes were as common as strength capes, then they'd be far more boring. And low level content doesn't get accessed by everyone---High and medium level players often ignore it completely. And just because noobs like you (nothing personal) can't access high level content, so what? Why is that bad? Why do you feel the need to be able to do everything I do? What makes you even think you DESERVE to have the same access? If it only took 6m xp in all skills to get 99, I'd have been maxed already. The thread was designed to be about exclusive content, content that due to either a high price tag, difficulty of completion, or time required to archive, isn't available for most of the RS community. There are plenty of high level players already. An example would be 100+ DG rewards, or resource dungeons for 105+ dungeon, or a slayer cave for people with 15m + slayer xp only, etc.

What basis do you have for this statement, personal experience, what? I know of adults who complain, (mainly college students) and teens who couldn't care less.

1.) Some are drama queens (Farve anyone?) 2.) Some really want to quit, and have nothing to come back to either because: A) They want to start over, as having everything can make the game "boring" B) They want to have no motivation to ever come back, since they have nothing to come back to. 3.) They just want to do it. If I knew I was quitting, I'd start very high risking PKing, etc.

Or simply don't play that content. I'm interested in why you think people hate on the content, more then anything. Is it laziness, jealousy, a desire for instant gratification, or a "need" to grind in order to access? What do you think?

Killing 1000 black dragons
And this is why idiots continue to run around slaying with a DFS or a godsword. AMG THEY R SOO COOL IDK WTF IM TALKING ABOUT BUT ITS A [bleep]ING GODSWORD IT MUCH ROCKZOR No offense to the OP. He's doing it this way because he finds it fun, which is how it should be. I just dislike people saying "IDK its just cool" when they are wrong... I really hope you get a visage, I've had no luck with one, but maybe you'll get one :P

Shadow Silk Hood
no no no. Why? Geez dumb idea. Maybe dragon claws should be more common, or full promethium from every forgotten warrior. Or 5000 bloody salves from every monster. Why don't we just give everyone 99 DG!!! Deal with it. Your luck sucks, so does mine. Just suck it up and continue. Life isn't far, so don't ask me to pass the donuts.

High level content is often raged about when first introduced. An example recently would be the Elite diaries. Ignoring the very valid argument that the high levels needed to finish the diaries in comparison to the rewards, many people complained about how "hard" the tasks were. Whenever a quest comes out with "high" levels, people complain about how Jagex should stop working on content for the 3-5% of RS players who can access it. The same for high level slayer monsters, etc. My question, why do people have such an aversion to "hard" content? Is it just laziness? Is it jealousy? Is it a true feeling that jagex should spend more time on content that the majority of players can access? Personally, high level content gives me a reason to train. Without x pots, I would have had little reason to get higher herb. Similar for several other skills. This is also partially why I don't train RCing, agility, hunter, etc. They are neither good moneymakers, nor fun, nor is their any current reason to train them to access content. So I ask once again, for what reason is their such an aversion to content which a person can not currently access? Should jagex release more "end game" content, quests that require 90+ stats, more abilities at 99, or even new items requiring very high (multiple 90+,99+ stats to wield)? Would this encourage people to get higher levels, or just make RS more of a "grind" (To those who consider certain things "grindy")

Is Runescape (free worlds) really that popular as it appears?
Good point Danz. When I was F2P it was fun. But I could never go back to F2P. My time enjoying F2P is over.
