  1. What an easy, yet fun quest. and we get to see guthix.... well his back at least #-o could this place that the humans were supposedly coming from be referring to real life? messing with the past always has consequences though....
  2. My take on it: Lending system update: i'm actually rather surprised they didn't think of people charging for loans, but glad they fixed it as soon as they did. (the rich get richer..) Withdraw all but 1: bout time, really helpful for members who went f2p, but as said doesn't really solve the problem of placeholders Spirit of summer quest: rather good experiance reward, but as far as i can tell not a very good item reward, but the quest itself is horrid. sending you to vaguely described places (just go west! weee) to do things that aren't very well explained is typical of a quest but literally watching your charms and money get eaten up is extremely frustrating. especially because the beast sometimes seems to eat your summon from several spaces away or you dismiss your summon thinking the beast is on the disk and it's not cuz it's so big you can't tell. at least they finally did something about revenant drops though (because if they are replacing pkers they should at least drop something good), but from what people posted it still doesn't seem worth killing them. p.s. i highly suggest switching to ancient magics before going on the quest, as the teleports are useful.
  3. hellz yeah. TET rocks i just hope people don't come, die, and then complain.
  4. liar. :o I said it before, i just didn't post. oh and btw your cute. :
  5. 10/10 for the level, 9/10 for hat wearing skills, 1/10 for awesomeness  (just kidding) congrats man.
  6. troacctid and Y2k949 got it, it must have to do with the new quest. But what exactly? A parallel realm? could that be the shadow plane, scaperune, the place where mahijit come from (forgot the name..) or some place we have never heard of before? and could the girl be a ghost who is making these noises? (the shadow plane was mentioned by general kahazard, and seems to be in the same realm as Gielinor, but since you need a ghostspeak amulet that seems plausible)
  7. They updated fires, so firemaking is a bit more cool (...err hawt) now! good luck you little pyro.
  8. then let me be your first!! weee good luck with fishing! btw penguins are just short-fat people in suits.
  9. Two pluggy's?! :o thats not confusing at all :wall: anyways good luck to both of you (mining and woodcutt happen to be my two highest skills, but nowhere near yours)
  10. Good luck with your tree killing and waffle eating! oh and nice blog!
  11. Your taking a break? dang it. i guess we will go on without you... painfully. oh well, real life should be your priority i guess. good luck, no matter what you do. <3
  12. bad. Now how do you make money with hunter? (besides the not-too-common dragon imp) lame update. So, yeah it's good to balance skills and make them not buy-able, but this pretty much ruins hunter. everyone who already got 99 (or very high) hunter with chins is lucky and the rest are screwed.
  13. yeah, why do we need Downloads and Wallpapers in big on the front page instead of, say forums or highscores (yes, you can get it from the upper menu, but then why have "website features at all?") or as other people were complaining rsc, and why do they have in huge "find out why you should play runescape" seems like they turned a useful main page with links to everything into a big commercial. i know it's new, idc, i want it changed. Soon.
  14. oh emm geee this is the best update in quite a while if you ask me.. Runescape HD looks totally awesome, and al kehrid + lumby on the old detail look great too! the dance emote and jig look funnier now  (i'm not saying better or worse, just more funny) but the laggg omg I've never had lag this bad. and the site itself looks much better and is easyer to navigate, which means more time playing, less time searching for info. but the front page is now filled with random crud and isn't as usefull, i hope they change it.
  15. I whole-heartedly agree about discounts for fixing the items at different stages of degrade, but i liked that they were untradeable while charged, because it means you actually have to play the game to get the items, not just something you can buy (..technically).
  16. Yes. oh.. you wanted an explanation. Well before tombstones you could still get your stuff back if you died and logged back in if you were quick enough, or more likely a friend got it for you. and if you can die when you lag out you should be able to have a gravestone then too. I think it was implemented this way to stop people from being afk, dieing and still not having anything to worry about. It would be a big improvement none the less.
  17. Great guide! 8-) I heard reports that the spirit wolf special (howl) can be used to repel these creatures, so you might want to get that confirmed and if so add it to your clue scroll/ green dragon part of the guide. also does crumble undead work on these creatures? i know magic would be ineffective as you have stated but i would like to know if crumble works at all 9.999repeating of course/10 i'm super sereal-lol
  18. Well his article was quite informative and gave me a new view on some of the problems i had about this skill, but not all. Still so many people talking about getting to 99 even after what Qeltar said lol. I completely agree that the skill should be hard to train and take a long time, thats one of the best parts of this skill. Maybe you won't ever get to 99 in this skill. Is that really so bad? I don't plan on getting any skill to 99 ever. However those with a skillcape mentality make at least one good point: the 100mil cost of getting to 99. it costs a lot to get to any level with this skill though, not just 99. (but people only seem to be calculating out the cost to 99 so thats what i use for my arguments). The truth is there are so many different creatures you could make to summon that you can't really calculate the cost for everyone. The whole skill is going to be different for everyone. It's going to be useless for high level players using low level summons because the creatures won't do enough damage to be useful. But it's also going to be near impossible for low level players to train at all because of charms. In addition to that people who aren't rich shouldn't train the skill at all. So while it will be different for everyone that doesn't mean it is good for anyone. So is it worth it? To figure that out you would have to calculate out the amount of money you would normally make in the time it takes to train summoning and here i wouldn't add the time it takes to get charms because people fight monsters anyway to train combat. Then you would have to calculate out how much your method of training summoning costs, including shards and raw materials. Then you would have to find out how much faster summoning lets you gain money, or drops from monsters, minus time for recharging summoning points and refreshing. Then subtract the second number from the third, and if this number is higher than the first you actully gain money. From this formula and from what people are saying it costs money to train the lower levels and maybe, just maybe, you might make money at higher levels because at lower levels you do not save more time than you use training the skill because the lower level monsters do not do very much damage. However, to expect to get to a high level in this skill is unreasonable, and will take very very long. (which, in my opinion is a good thing, despite skillcape mentality). So at low levels this is a money losing skill and it is hard to get to high levels. Your only hope to get money off of this skill is to get it to high levels, but does the price of getting there equal out to the benefits of having a high level? And what of the market for pouches? Normally high level players sell items to low level players, but with summoning high leveled players (high leveled in summoning) will not be able to sell their pouches to lower leveled players as lower leveled players cannot summon higher leveled creatures. But lower leveled players will try to sell their summoning pouches as they are essentially useless to them, but may be somewhat more useful to a higher leveled summoner. As a high leveled summoner can already create this creatures, why would they buy them? Using the creatures does not give any experience so i believe there would be no market for them. So, yes qeltar there is some validity to the argument that we should get experience for summoning creatures. If clicking is not work then why do we get experience for anything really? I know, I know, you have to gather resources but with bones it is just one click, xp. I do have a question though, can you make money off of high alching the pouches?, or does it cost more to make them? Too true. People put too much into getting p hats that don't do anything, while summoning is a quite interesting skill. But not everyone can afford a god sword or 2. I'm not rich(compared to like everyone else my level), and i had planned on buying some better armor or weapons with my cash if i ever got enough. Despite all that it's not always all about making money, i don't mind training skills that don't make money but i at least like to break even, or collect my own materials but i have a serious problem when i am losing tons and tons of money. So Jajex said this is going to be the best money making skill ever, but to me it looks like it's going to be the biggest money loser ever. I do have a problem when i am losing money. And if it's not about the money then what? Well i guess maybe people would like to have a higher combat and total levels, but there are easier ways of doing that, unless you have 99 in every other skill. and this is not a skill you can just quickly get to 99 if thats why your training it. So i guess the only reason i can think of to train this skill is if you enjoy it or they make a quest requiring it. But I'm not just here to declare problems, i have solutions too. Simply make shards mine able, that way we have a new use for mining and i can gather my own materials, instead of wasting my cash. Also maybe do not give experience for using the pouches but give experience for the damage your familiar does in combat towards summoning (not your other combat skills). why would they have to be untradeable?
  19. where else can i get 0.1 xp for doing something? wouldn't it be fun training all your skills this way!!!! \
  20. That was just a beginning concept behind Summoning, a prototype. They never said it was going to be like that. And I don't think anyone should be calling JaGEx "incredibly stupid", seeing they made this amazing game. well i would have agreed with you before the unbalanced trade thing. but this isn't the jajex i knew. something has changed. Still i sincerely apologize for that remark i was mad.
  21. hey if ya see em say congrats to Dark Dude 98 as he was the first to be on the highscores for summoning. (he was the first to 30)
  22. Dalmation i choose you! or is it Dalmatian? look it up in game. i always hated pokemon.
