  1. I may well be wrong - but from the video I'd kind of suspect that that's simply been done for the trailer, rather than an actual new interface? Seems like it doesn't quite 'follow' as being a standard interface, more so the way the text moves looks like it's just done for a trailer rather than in-game effects.
  2. Got to say I most definitely agree with you Ilovecuttingyews, playing my F2P character when I do play is so much more enjoyable than my prior-P2P character - it's an entirely different mechanic in a lot of ways and I'm certainly finding I'm now playing for fun rather than levels! :)
  3. Good luck with it - stat's certainly reveal you know what it is to be dedicated to a goal! ;) I attempted to get only 25M RC Exp' from Graahking not so long ago, ended up stopping at close to 20M when real-life began to take over - rarely play nowadays so I suppose the goal was the kicker to get away from the game! :P
  4. I think it's been said a lot of-course - based on the combinatorics, the likelihood of there being other life out there is very very large. As Stephen Hawking stated though - we can't know what they'd be like! ;) Quite an obvious thought too is that anything we 'propose' they could be like is entirely based upon our own influences from this world, our imagination, stories etc. It's quite a limited perspective to have if you think about it - there are masses of possibilities as to what 'alien' species could be like, we really can't guess at it! However - it's always interesting to speculate and so long as people realise that there's no harm to it either. I do find it funny that they've taken the slightly more alarming proposal from Hawking's speech and emphasised that! :P
  5. Should be Combat-153 (F2P) and Combat-168 (P2P), melee-based of-course. That's following the RuneScape Wiki combat formula here :- Combat_Level, and assuming the formula holds for values > 99.
  6. You're quite right! Quick look suggests could get a return for ~£20 - no bookings as late as August at the moment but that's a hell of a lot nicer looking than the train costs. :P Still hope yet! I think it's great of Jagex to be putting on this kind of event, lets hope it turns out very well!
  7. From the looks of things, £100 for the train, possibly more, haven't looked into services like MegaBus though - they're usually reasonable. That - plus the event's ticket cost and perhaps the need for accommodation somewhere depending on how long it lasts is definitely not something I can fork out as a student! ;)
  8. I would probably attend if the tickets weren't extortionate down to London from up here in Scotland! Too bad...
  9. If any fantasy elements crossed into the real-world I think chaos would ensue! But anyway, I can imagine teleports would be the most useful! I think I'd probably go for the magical side of things, RuneCrafting, imbuing effects into items - that kind of thing. Also, to those saying Agility - it's already prevalent quite largely through the discipline of Parkour - you should try it, it's certainly the best hobby I've taken up! ;)
  10. Congrat's on the Rock Band ranking - I'm utterly rubbish with the vocals but can manage Drums and Guitar pretty well on most songs. Damn that Bass pedal - same thing happened for me, ended up just fixing it myself - got a nice metal-covering over it now! :) Good luck with the rest of the exams!
  11. They all appeal a lot too me - love the simplicity of Apex, the general look of Cortex and the text of Infinite Solutions, would say I'm not entirely sure on the Infinity symbol part of the logo, perhaps it's the blend of colours. Either way though, awesome job! :) Woops! Should of done my research. :P
  12. Heh, so much for the previous post found on the official-forums stating due to 'technical difficulties' it wouldn't be possible to remove these. ;) (And in some ways the supposed F2P isn't a demo claim!). Still, these aren't too much of a nuisance overall I've found - that could be due to my current low levels though, later on I suppose with the frequency of unopenable doors being lesser I can imagine it may have more impact.
  13. Here you go, some IT examples :) :- Infinity Solutions - A Company centered at providing flexible, powerful software solutions. Apex - A mobile-software company providing modern applications aiding travel services. Cortex - Networking set-up and management.
  14. Yea, the Deposit Box is far more viable - however, I have found that the ring acts as a brilliant, quick-access teleport to a bank in a lot of circumstances, especially if I'm just going to teleport somewhere else after! :)
  15. I'm quite happy that it requires such a large amount of experience between the two. People aren't being forced to level it, but those who do get a bit of an acknowledgement at the end, both in the level itself and the alternative skillcape. (Assuming members of-course). I've always been an advocate of having a 'maxed' skill-cape, primarily because it offers a small portion of recognition to those who set out for a goal. Those who want to achieve that would have gone for it anyway as it's such a huge goal, but it gives a little something at the end as an added bonus.
  16. Aside from the triple post (:P), it's my lack of proof-reading, silly mistake. Perhaps that's cue for another coffee? :) Cheers for pointing that out though!
  17. Yes, quite true - rather I should have said that the necessity is to complete all the available floors you have, but can be in any order. :)
  18. Assuming you're constantly doing different floors, never doing the same one more than once in an entire play through of your available rounds, your prestige should be constantly rising. Once you find you've done all the floors, you'll need to reset your prestige, which will bring your current down to 0, but keep your previous as being what you had. After resetting, you need to start right from the first floor again and continue playing through all your possible floors to get your current prestige up again, but each time you complete a floor the prestige experience you get is based on your previous prestige (so long as it's higher than current), rather than your current. The key point is that after a reset you need to restart and do all the floors (in any order) if you want to maintain high prestige.
  19. Good idea for the human shield! Only problem in that case would be if both sides are blocked... In most cases that should really help though. Any theory behind why boulders wouldn't stick to the spot if there's an item on it?
  20. It seems the proof-of-concept page simply opened up the Calculator application on windows by launching a java web-start application to show the vulnerability. I'm not certain if the vulnerability actually was utilised for harm but a lot of it seems to have just been emphasis on the vulnerability being present rather than being used by anyone - I'm quite sure we could well have seen it being used for worse if they hadn't released an update.
  21. I would boast about Linux at this point, but one of the white-hats mentioned that although they couldn't exploit linux-versions of Java with this exact vulnerability, it may just require a different approach :- Interestingly enough, according to the 0day-related page linked to from the article (here), MacOSX isn't actually vulnerable, yet Windows and Linux are. Glad they changed their mind on the update though! :)
  22. Awesome guide, very well done! Thoroughly detailed and have definitely provided me with a lot more insight into F2P Runecrafting! :) Only thing I'd mention is there's a few places where you've still got "(image here)", particularly in the Fist of Guthix and GOP section - not sure if that's still to come or just forgotten about? ;)
  23. Are you resetting your prestige and then working your way back up from Level 1 each time? That's necessary to get the prestige experience back up high otherwise it'll be extremely low due to the averaging of base exp' and prestige. It may well just be common-sense but it's something I missed initially. ;)
  24. I believe that Jagex would probably attempt to remove any of the items that are present outside of Dungeoneering rather than let this occur. I guess things aren't so terrible without them being able to be equipped, but the alching issue is still quite a bad one. Of-course, there's other implications such as quick junk for people real-world trading or transferring gold / items. This topic unfortunately will bring light to the issues for those not so positive, but I do hope it'll bring the issue to light with Jagex too. :)
  25. This year's going to be my first year of voting too, having turned 18 in December. Yet, I'm one of those who probably won't end up voting. To be honest, it's simply just that I've had no interest in the politics of the country - I don't complain so that common argument can't really apply. In my scenario though, I don't see the point in registering and voting for something random - surely that's just throwing out an invalid vote if there's no consideration really been put into it? On the other hand though - if I were to stand back and look at myself it's (rather ashamedly) sheer laziness! :P I think I can be opinionated so really should take the time to look at different issues and who I think is the most viable...I would say that from small looks at it the Liberal's are the ones that stand out most, that's probably largely due to all the talk about them at the moment though! ;)
