Looking for an extremely lightweight Linux distro
I know personally that Kubuntu is not what he's looking for as it is larger in size then Ubuntu and doesn't run as smoothy in the first place. I agree.

Custom Building Computer
Creative sounds cards drivers are very crappy to be honest at least the stock ones are. Very little linux support as they don't even support the linux driver they offer on there web site. Good sound but i don't think you get your bang for your buck. I have a Creative Sound Blaster X-FI Extreme Gamer.

That's against the rules: http://www.runescape.com/kbase/viewarti ... le_id=2396 I'm sorry but you don't get it. You want the pop up to go away but you don't want to block it. If you want it to go away you will block it. Jagex can't do anything if you block it. It is your PC not jagex. I doubt we are supposed to encourage rule breaking on these forums, but ya at least get mozilla if you don't already have. And as far as the adds being in another tab...thats good because they won't lag you if they aren't on the screen(usually, except when it initially d/l the ad) They would still lag you if you havea crapy computer. How am i really rule breaking telling him to get Adblock Plus. Is it a crime to have it installed and go to RuneScape.com? If that is the case Jagex is going to lose alot of money. I'm serious jagex like mind warps all of you.

Mac vs. PC (PIC)
Mac is an operating system. PC is not. How many viruses is linux getting, eh? I agree with you, you do not see them do is compare it to linux. It is always compared to vista. PC != Vista! Do people even use Linux? Are you serious? No one uses linux. You seriously need to do something besides so dumb [cabbage] like you always do. Every time i see you post is is something stupid and worthless, but what else could we expect from you? .. not much. Do you try to start arguments so you get flamed? Again no one uses linux just remember that when you go to ask it again in some other [wagon] way you will think of.

How To Speed Up Runescape HD (reduce lag)
This is on RuneScape.com i saw it there along time ago. The problem is as joe said if you have crappy hardware or Internet or something else on your computer hogging your resources then it isn't going to do much. Not to say it doesn't take much to play RuneScape.

Audio/Video is slow
I know what sleep does. But I'm trying to say that Hibernate would be better for you, because it draws almost no power (even a completely shutdown computer draws some power, and hibernate is almost the same as a complete shutdown). I'd be willing to end it with a "to each, his own" here though, and I will. Nice PSU btw, was thinking about getting something around that for my build when I get the money for it. But were you yelling at me in your post? The part? If so, pm me, because I need to inquire about this. Sleep boots up faster and i wasn't yelling at you.

Dual system install question
You can try but i bet you will have to reinstall it it. I say that because some of the stuff is different with Vista including DX10.

Audio/Video is slow
You can't afford the power bill, but you set it to sleep? Now, forgive me if I'm wrong, but doesn't sleep mode draw more power than Hibernate (which I was told is equated to turning off the computer)? Sleep saves the session in your memory. It is a very low power state. I have a 1200W psu that is why i said that.

is vista really this bad...
forgive me if im wrong....UNIX....is the command line interface one? (or is it closely resembled to LINUX?) Linux has a simila kernel to unix but it isn't unix. You don't see to much Unix anymore but you do see alot of linux. Linux can be text-based/command line or have GUI.

Upgrading a Laptop
*thinks about HP laptops* My friend has one of the hp laptops, and his computer heats like 5 times as much as my laptop. how about hp in general... everything was stock....and the psu would....think the pc is overheating.. fortunately the psu died on me (lasted 3 1/2 years too o.o) until it got upgraded with more ram and a better psu im still wondering why the mobo is still alive... I WANNA CHANGE IT!!! with my dad's money :D Personally HP is the way to go. If i were to choose it would be HP or Gateway.

Audio/Video is slow
Last resort? You mean to tell me holding the power button, then rebooting, and performing a disk check is a last resort? ...Just walk away urbest...just walk away... #-o Isn't hard restart another way of saying to wipe out the Hard Drive and start all over again? It sounds like it is. Well, if not, i have tried it alot of times, this problem is like a year old, but my mom just recently told me. No no no no no no no no no. What urbestfriend is trying to tell you is that you should consider actually shutting off the computer instead of hibernation. To hibernate your machine is to save your current session on disk -- meaning saving [the state of] all running programs, applications, and the entire OS, regardless of what it's doing. Okay for laptop users that are going to move their laptop from their office or classroom to the presentation room or library; REALLY REALLY NOT A GOOD IDEA FOR DESKTOPS OF ANY KIND. The reason being desktop users forget that they're "hibernating" their machine, and not "shutting it off", so they run into huge issues with memory, slower disks, slower machine, so forth and so on... Not to mention, Windows uses a "paging" file to do all of this. There are limits to how big that file can be, and since there's a lot of cruft on that file, that would explain the sluggishness. What you can do to remedy this is to shut the doggone thing off for an hour. Then go back into the OS and run the disk defragmenter program. Then, run it again. Then, after you're done with that, tell your mother to never, ever hibernate her machine again. Period. Personally i put my desktop in sleep mode every night casue i can't afford the power bill with it on. That is besides the point. It ISN'T A BAD IDEA TO HIBERNATE. It is a good idea to restart it every once and a while though. You really piss me off some times. As you give out [cabbage] information like this.

Free Usb drive file recoverer?? (Can be locked)
you could always "borrow" a "friends" copy of the program by going to there house and using it, or even "borrowing" it by getting them to send it to you online and you could use it on your computer if for some reason your "friends" computer doesn't have a usb port, because it was broken or something, or maybe your "friend" lives on the other side of the world? ;) or you could look around for another free program. Get what from his friend?
