  1. Is it dial-up? :uhh: Isn't that what America Online is?
  2. Agreed! As i always say instead of sitting here not getting anywhere you could have reinstalled your OS by now.
  3. Your neighbors(if you have wireless)?
  4. I want to see you slaughter babies so i won't help.
  5. That isn't hacking just to let you know. That would be SMS.
  6. First off gub is install on a partition if you install a distro most of the time it is on that distros partition or you can install it standalone. Non the less GRUB rewrites your MBR(Master Boot Record) to boot to GRUB first. If you were to lets say rewrite vista or xp's MBR you would still have the grub partition but it wouldn't boot to it. Also you usually have to tell grub what to boot unless you install it and it auto detects but after the install you have to add manually. You really seem like a "(Ubuntu) Linux User & Enthusiast".
  7. I'm planning to buy a cooling pad with fans on it, a 3fan one to be exact. I think that will help a lot :/ (When it turns off the thing is so hot my hand turns red if I put it on the base) i would get one that runs off USB not one that plugs into the wall. So i would just check to see what the one your looking at runs off.
  8. Only one person to blame you. You opened it you didn't backup.
  9. I would not go though windows and completely disagree with Makoto_the_Phoenix. Going though windows means your dependent windows. i Would use grub.
  10. Doesn't hurt to reinstall the OS at all. In fact it will only help in most cases. On the cooling pad. I have one that runs off USB that keeps it roughly 10 degrees cooler.
  11. I had a lot of problems with OpenOffice. It was really slow, and crashed on me once (which is around the time I was frustrated enough to delete it anyways). I will agree on the re-install though. Probably because of your computer or your JRE version. I have it and i like it much better that MS Office.
  12. I seriously don't know what's so unclear about that, and people keep on asking if it works on IE. One other browser it would possibly work on though is Netscape Navigator, seeing as it also use XPI extensions and the GECKO engine. (Like the code for the Venkman JavaScript debugger, whose code is exactly the same for FF and NN) On top of that why even use IE? When there is way more you can do with Firefox including the Microhelper.
  13. Looks like you need to uninstall and then install it again from the cd. What probably happened is MS office pry took the ID of the old hard drive. You could also just get OpenOffice which will read and write the same files MS office will.
  14. How about the title "Computer Problems...."? You can fit it in it is just a lame excuse.
  15. This could have been included with your other topic.
  16. This happened to me a very very long time ago. I just rebooted i think and it worked fine.
  17. As this is what many people do they psot a problem but with no specs or details. Mind specifying?
  18. I love how everyone blames everything on vista slow internet speeds to offline server.

That is not what i heard. Someone told me somewhere that they over load there servers. Edit: i personally use LunarPages and they seem to be good for the server i am on.
  20. You could try modifying rockbox as they don't have a build for the nano 3G but you could take the source code and try to get it to work. No offence or anything but how your talking i doubt your very techy but i could be wrong.

Could just pay roughly $7 dollars a month and get a host.
  22. What do you have to lose when your betting his life?
  23. You would actually do 3 partitions. A ext3 for linux, ntfs for windows, and swap for a swap partition. I think you mean cores instead of processors.
  24. Could try clearing your DNS cache. Go to start >> Run >> type cmd and hit enter >> a black windows called command prompt should appear, now type ipconfig /flushdns and press enter. You could also try to ping runescape.com by going back into command prompt and typing ping runescape.com ans see if any packets are lost. If it continues try clearing cache in your browser. It could also be your ISP.
  25. Yea that is what i am wondering. I guess it is just the fun and the challenge of doing it.
