EDIT: December 24th 2006 RESPONSES TO SOME OF YOUR COMMENTS I don't know about anybody else, but when construction came out, I was not too fond of the new display. I miss seeing my combat level and skill total on the same page, especially when showing pictures of levels when you get them (I've seen others share that same sentiment). I also miss being able to look at a certain skill's XP in that box, instead of waiting for a popup that covers up your other levels, and takes longer to load. So I played around with the interface a little and came up with this: (old pic I used) http://img114.imageshack.us/img114/2176/olddisplay2vy7.png Updated pic (shows both black/yellow bars on 5 second intervals): help by tru_vampire0 I used his image to make a .gif that would show both yellow and black bars, since some seemed to have a preference EDIT: December 24th 2006 To the responses about being overly crowded, I extended the image about as much as possible while still fitting within the current space allowed by the interface. Of course, in this picture it is not pretty to the eye, but that's for the people at Jagex (who get paid for doing this) to take care of. This is just to demonstrate how wide I could make it without increasing the current space used for that part of the interface: End edit I know it's not perfect, but I didn't want to be over-elaborate, but with a minimal resizing to the side of the surrounding 'box' this would fit just fine. I'm sure Jagex could make it a little prettier than I did too. Other benefits of this would be allowing room for 6 additional skills, should they ever come, without needing a scroll bar, and maybe even get the "Current XP" and "XP to next level" to be alligned, instead of the old frustrating way it was before:

Tip.It Times Presents: Happy Birthday to Us!
oddfaery2 replied to Kiara_Kat's topic in General Discussion
Seeing as you've done just that, I find this comment to be kind of irritating. Do not post that article anywhere on these forums. It will be removed and disciplinary measures may be taken. I don't find that comment to be in the least bit funny, if that's what you were aiming for. lol I was only teasing. You of all people should know that by now. It's not something I would intend to share on these boards (or elsewhere), out of respect of the admins' decision to remove it. -

I can guarantee you it's not Kiara Kat. With a pseudonym like that you could never possibly guess unless you already knew or had a previous writing style to base it off of. However one admin told me that it's not who you expect. Get pondering. to further the torture, perhaps there has been more than 1 editor in this last year... My guess would be at least 3 ;) -

Nice easy article to write :) Try again. Sorry, but no. All I can tell you is that it was an editorial commentary on some bans Jagex implemented. Here's the discussion topic: http://forum.tip.it/viewtopic.php?t=419655 That's all I can give you. This would be a bad time for me to let people know I still have a copy of that article, eh? -

If you're going to claim that you're able to write better, at least know how to spell "could" please. Critics should try to be constructive :P -
I don't mean to be a thorn in your foot, but there's already an official sticky for tip.it times suggestions in the Website updates and corrections forums. The link is http://forum.tip.it/viewtopic.php?t=319347

I was going to suggest waiting until higher level, but I see that you're 100+ by your sig. Anybody 100+ can definitely beat the monsters alone. Granted, it is difficult, but it can be done, and I saw people as high as 120 dying the day they did the quest, simply for lack of information (no guide yet) opposed to some kind of inability. 2 of them are easy (especially if you know to take ice gloves and don't have to resort to kicking one to death). The one in trollheim and the one in canifis are the only 2 that are truly difficult, but they can definitely be killed without dying. At worst, you should just have to teleport away if you don't succeed. -
Somebody should get the pictures Zezima sent me to update the tables. They were really good (but alas, I was on a different computer).

Man... it almost seems that ever since the article about The Old Nite, that "The Editor" is a completely different person... actually... scratch that almost... I don't mean to be harsh or over-criticize, but the content lately has been lacking, especially in this article. Complaining about how quests are too hard when you don't keep track of what you're doing? Not to mention that the in-game guide tells you what things you are missing generally, and if not, the tip.it guides do. As for Mourner's End II, try doing it without a guide if you want true frustration :P (Not to mention you could've put on armor as soon as you entered the cave past the mourners, and Guthan makes things much easier). I have a hard time believing this is the same "Editor" who started pouring out his soul to us a year ago in almost every article he or she wrote; who took the measures to find an interesting topic (almost) every week; who risked being hated by Andrew Gower himself (and the tip.it administrators) to let Jagex know how their actions came across, such as with Jagex Interfering?; who brought us guest authors such as Duke Freedom and Aming Heart; who tracked down every contact he could manage to pull off interviews with both N0valyfe and Zezima... *deep breath* Where has the spirit gone? *note* again... I'm sorry if I was too negative... I just miss the spirit our articles used to have... we have Blogscape forums for blogs. -

I love bank PINs... only thing that annoys me about them is that they came out AFTER I lost my bank (at the time worth around 250m) to a keylogger (form of virus that records what you type to steal passwords). People can get a virus whether or not they go downloading files, so in my eyes, the protection is more than worth any inconvenience. I even try to make sure I don't log out in anything too expensive if I don't have to.

it'd be great if you could spell, that way people would actually respect your posts =\

Judging by the initial responses, I think people are misinterpreting The Editor a little bit. Knowing him, I don't think he cares much about whether or not he's going to make money off a skill, so the fact that it's not a money-making skill isn't either a good or bad thing. The problem he has with it, in terms of money, is that you can flat out buy experience, and that you can't gather your own materials in order to save yourself from all expenses, as you can with every other skill. No matter what, an NPC is taking your money out of the game. You're missing a HUGE difference between prayer and construction. When you buy prayer, you're going to be paying players, not an NPC. When you buy construction, your money is going to the game at some point... if not many points (not that you won't also pay players) The Old Nite won't be playing any more. He'll simply continue to slip down the charts. Sorry for the letdown.

lol... i'm not even really playing now... and you say this every week :P
