  1. So only 888% voting rate increase needed then, even better! =P Depending on the success of 2007scape in the next few months it could be completely irrelevant how many votes to 750k, or 500k as Jagex could very well make it happen and then open it to F2P.
  2. [hide] Or they could not. Since the 750,000 tier is gone, it looks like free players aren't going to get in regardless. Jagex has said that if 750k is earned F2P will open up, even after they bumped the rewards for 750k down to 500k. We are under 450k votes with like 25 hours remaining - it's going to take a sudden surge of votes to get 500k, 750k may as well not exist as a tier at this point. Never say never. We had math equations predicting 208k at 2 week end and that doubled. I was just saying the 750k tier still exist even if it's not gonna be earned. That is true but mathematical predictions at an early stage are likely to be off by a fair margin - they rely on the assumption the existing curve of vote rate will persist indefinitely - a fact which is unlikely to be true given any length of time, not to mention the various PR stunts of course had an impact. What is interesting s the convergence of misplacedme's estimations in the past 24 hours or so By votes during the most recent log: 460,098 By votes in the last hour: 457,361 By votes in the last 24 hours: 450,687 By votes since logging began: 465,490 She's(?) not using any fancy predictive algorithms just simply projecting the last Vote per minute (from the 5 min logs) Vote per hour, vote per 24 hours and votes in the entire time of the poll forward at a flat rate to the final timeframe. The fact that all 4 are converging suggests, baring any miraculous change to voting, the estimation is getting quite accurate. Which puts our final tally quite neatly in the 450-460k ballpark, which in turn implies even with a final PR stunt to create another bump (based on how the prior ones worked) we aren't going to hit 500k very easily at all. [/hide] Well I know she wasn't using anything fancy. I wouldn't expect anyone to try to model this as some type of regression accounting for serial correlations and heteroskedastcity. Just saying it is possible. Seeing the PR stunt Jagex pulled, I would be surprised if the deadline was extended. In any event, given what we know know of course it'd be more accurate than early estimates. But our estimates for this time are only as best as what we have information for now. We don't know what Jagex still has planned. Anyway I was just saying the 750k tier still exist.

  5. Welcome to 2007 Runescape. Calculus III is a requirement. :P
  6. [hide] So what? A company should never take heed of their customers complaints? That's the business model you want jagex to abide by? No, not at all. The model I'd like is one where when promised 07scape will NOT effect live game one of THE biggest most anticipated releases of the past few years does not get delayed precisely because of 07scape. People's annoyance now is by no means 07scape existing, it is simply to bring it out so soon Jagex broke THE promise they made to us that it would not effect live game. Then your previous argument regarding the method people used to get 07scape back is completely irrelevant to the point you're making. Did Jagex say the quest was coming today? No but they told us the BTS would be this friday and jmods have confirmed the quest has been delayed by a week. And my previous point about people complaining to get what they want is perfectly valid - we are complaining as loudly as possible because the 07scape whiners have proven this effective; hence in our annoyance at Jagex we shalt complain as much and as loudly as we like regardless of people telling us we should just get on and play or get over it. Oh, so it was the whining that enabled Jagex to find a back up of 2007 Runescape, I see. And it was the whining, not the prospects of making more money, that made Jagex choose to put out this version of Runescape. We know that's the case because whining got the wilderness and free trade returned to us in a matter of months. I'm glad you could provide us with your business acumen. And you don't know what delayed the quest, you're making an assumption. [/hide] 2007 scape delayed the quest. The point is, we now know what Jagex responds to. [bleep]ing. Now I'm not good candidate to do it, but instead of doing it here it should be taken to their official forum. We all know people complain in runescape, but aside other than with Free Trade I can't remember Jagex doing something like this so quickly.
  7. Dat 5 attack/str. Wait, why do you need 40 fishing/cooking?
  8. Just give up man. It's done. Jagex was gonna do this because of they way they handled EoC...just play which ever game you want Its people like you that let companies get away with not being accountable for their actions. [bleep] off and go home. Thanks Firstly calm down, secondly it's not a big deal. Jagex have made a lot of players happy with this and people who don't like it don't have to play it. Your completely nieve to think that the number of people they made happy out weights the number of people they pissed off. We've proven over and over again that the whiny [bleep]y minority that made this shit happen is nothing compared to the current paying member base. And I'd love to go play what I want to play except the [bleep]ed us over for this bull shit b Look, I'm upset for those who can do the gm quest that was suppose to be out. I was planning on power questing to get to do it (and I still will). But complaining here won't solve the issue. Those who wanted 2007 scape cried and cried and fought. No matter how little it may seems they got 2007 back. instead of complaining here, make your voice heard. That seems to have gotten things to work, because as we can see The World Wakes is paed over for a rehashing of nostalgia.
  9. Just give up man. It's done. Jagex was gonna do this because of they way they handled EoC...just play which ever game you want Its people like you that let companies get away with not being accountable for their actions. [bleep] off and go home. Thanks I'm pretty sure this entire thread debate came to a near conclusion when we discovered that Jagex's over bearing pushing of 2007scape meant that they had planned this from the beginning due to how bad they handled the EoC update. if you have a complaint stop getting mad at me on here and take it up with them. Let them have their fun in 2007.
  10. Just give up man. It's done. Jagex was gonna do this because of they way they handled EoC...just play which ever game you want
  11. Hold the phone! Why do the quest at only 10hp? Is it for pk pures and such or is it to get quest out the way? The account is shared; the character is not. Yes, it asks you for recoveries on your account. On topic: I guess 07 rs will have players, but in the end it meet RSC's fate. Just saying, no need to flame me. This was something Jagex wanted to do before we really knew so might as well get your nostalgia on. It can be good to go back to a simple time. EDIT: But I really wish Jagex would stop release half working content. They could have waited until next week to make sure remaining bugs are only minor.
  12. My main issue is not taking away from the main game. It's having release major content with major bugs they should have caught.
  13. This is obviously more of a priority over a quest. I guarantee more people would prefer this over a quest. 2007 scape they are pushing hard vs. a grandmaster quest they've put a lot of work into teasing us about. They share the same priority level to me, considering all the fan girl tears I've been seeing for the quest. Shameful that once AGAIN, they didn't have the major bugs in 2007 scape worked. Just as I was gonna cast vote...
  14. So I've been reading a bit and trying to make since of everyone being a first mover. So is the general idea of those doing this: 1) Slayer until 85 for combat exp and whips for money (while keeping drops until a good economy is established) 2) Slayer until 55 and barrows camping (I'm assuming with slayer darts) 3) Power questing making sure to get MTK done as early as possible 4) Crafting by which ever method preferred (which to my understanding is cow hides) 5) Magic by any means necessary and alching 6) Trade EoC gp for 2007 gp Is this a good summary of early ideas that will be popular amoung the 2007scaper?
  15. EDIT: Sorry for double posting. Yeah you have a ways to go in the QP requirements lol. We do not know that it'll req 90 pray and str - those are just for Koschei the deathless (thought may suspect it may end up being needed to 100% all the rewards. Anyway that aside from the BTS reqs only the following stats are required (compiled by backtracking all the required quests leading from noob > the 4 required for this quest): As for avoiding spoilers there's not much to avoid: If you have balmung you can do the koschei thing - the 2 90s and are just extra memories that add a tiny bit more backstory, but 1 can be done level free to get the main events done. Oh, alright. I kind wanna 100% rewards so I guess I'll be doing more slayer for 90str. Kinda wish I paid more attention to more lore in the quest. I did play attention to all the fremmy quest and most of those dealing with the Mahjarrat, but I may need a bit of a refresher to understand plots.
  16. Yeah you have a ways to go in the QP requirements lol. And just when I bought Metal Gear Rising I have to come back to power my way through quest. Does anybody know roughly how many quest points one would have just doing all the requirements for WGS?
  17. Been reading the thread for a bit and oh my globs! Trying to read this thread without clicking the spoliers is like trying not to laugh while watching a Tarantino movie. So just so I'm clear I'll need, 90 prayer, 90 strength, and near a quest cape for this new quest? Aside from being 253/270 qp from WGS, I'm think I'm 10 quest off RotM.
  18. Well, no matter if Jagex gets 250k, 480k, or 575k votes, the older version of this game will be here Friday. So just one curious question, how will a fansite, Like Tip.it, handle information for 2007 server and the main game. Would it use something like the way back machine to get pull older articles or what?
  19. [qfc]317-318-490-64252433[/qfc]. Third. Freaking. Post. There's no sense in this shit anymore. Why would they come out and say that they want to rig it? If the community didn't have enough support, let it go. Why give everyone a mulligan come the 28th? That's rigging the vote? More like not being total douche bags. If the poll reaches 480k votes, Jagex could either say 'oh, you didn't reach 500k. Too bad' or 'oh, you were so close to 500k that we'll be nice and give you the benefits either way'. Which one makes the most sense, both from a company point-of-view, and a customer point-of-view? Like Thus said, "The problem is no one knows what the magnitude of 30k votes..." As I mentioned before, they may expect the remaining votes to come in short run later. But what can they do if it doesn't come and they find themselves at a point where the marginal cost > marginal revenue?
  20. Most stores wouldn't let me pay any less than the total*... I don't know where you get this information. Seriously. *: Only exception was a family run farmer's market. I once was about a dollar short and they let it slide. But then again, I am a regular customer during spring/summer/fall and it was a family run business, not some megalomaniac corporation... The information I gave her was based on what I do and what plenty of other Korean Supermarkets do here in Hawaii. When I went to North Carolina, stores over their do it as well. Way to make a fool out of yourself. Edit: She pointed it out as well. Edit2: Even you did. LOL I wasn't trying to call him/her out. While they did the same thing, the situation is totally different. Veiva is a regular customer at a farmer market where it has probably happened maybe once or twice for him. Up until recently, I lived in the ghetto where they did this for everyone all the time. And even then our situations are different from Jagex. It's better to aline Jagex with Micky D's than a farmer market, Korea market, or a gangbanggers corner store. Our examples aren't looking to be big chain or trying to stay relevant in the industry that way Jagex is. And it's not just $1 we are talking. It is (the ultimate end price)*30k player. Like Thus said, "The problem is no one knows what the magnitude of 30k votes..." But just to paint another example: 4 block from there is another corner store. If you DO NOT have $30 to pay for your food, they tell you gtfo and they have no problem threatening you. They make sure change is correct there. Veiva was right, most businesses can't be bothered letting you slide off a dollar short. I don't think Jagex can afford to do, or rather, they don't. Hence the push to get us to vote.
  21. There is a corner store near my old appartment that does that for everyone. They don't even count the change right. Then again the neighborhood is really bad and poor, everyone pays withfood stamps, and I'm pretty sure the store a gand hangout. So it's not them being nice, they just don't give a rat's ass.
  22. 1) Please stop name calling. It's not cool bro. Just makes you look bad. EDIT: referrence to eariler post you made. 2) Yes I would tell him to leave, or only get $29 dollars worth of item. McDonalds doesn't say "Oh 50 cents short. That's okay". They are ultimately a business and you have to pay the price they say. Now Jagex pardoning the votes is probably to STILL encourage people who have not voted to come in. If the 30k votes still don't show and they pardon it, I suppect they are hoping it will in the short run once players see they are upkeeping 2007rs as if they had got 30k. Probelm is, what if they never get it? That's why it's such a big push now. People want it, just not in the amount Jagex hoped to make a profit and break even. So they pull all these trick just short of poll rigging, and bring more people in, yet it's still not enough. So they pardon the vote in hopes they rest will come... That's the way I see it.
  23. (Sorry for the double post if this turns out a double post) I admit fake was a bad word choice. I should have said they'll overlook any small distance remaining for votes, which they consider 20k or less.
  24. Makes a big difference. If it reaches 500k, it gets updates. Then more people complain about whatever updates it gets/doesn't get, quit, Jagex loses money. I was speaking more as I give up if Tenko doesn't see how it's a little shaddy. I admit, my edit were pretty late but I directed him to the post and he asked me the same question again... But to answer you, as given by Ponyless (post #1530) and mentioned for some pages back Jagex did a lot to get this attention when it was suppose to be a poll to see interest. The moment they set this up, they had an idea as to the outcome beofre any of us did. The constant flip-flopping on their part is rather annoying, first telling us EoC will be great, then pushing us to vote for this. It's like with SOF/SGS. If they had admitted to need more money to help the game grow instead of changing rules to fit their needs and twisting words, I don't think it'd have as big of a outlash as it would have. So I rather they just have said in their New Year posy "For the poor way we shelled out EoC we will bring 2007scape back" instead of all this.
