Tip.It Times - 28th October 2012
I agree with ALG on this. I remember playing those quest and I dearly miss them (just as I do the random event). But they really don't fit well in this game anyomre. I actually didn't enjoy Romeo and Juliet but I loved Gunnars Ground. It makes more sense in the runescape realm, adds more backstory, and doesn't feel that generic (it is but not like Romeo and Juliet did for me). I even get to say sarcastic things and make fun of the dwarf. I avoid starting quest all the time but ultimately like a lot of them because they have a story (and worth while rewards). Yeah it's novice but I learn more about characters and get totallty into it. That is what I think Jagex aims for aside from their (or your idea of their) buy spins campaign. No one is going to want to quest if they don't enjoy it, and they miss out on a lot. So by updating these old quest they are making it fun and can expand lore. Nostalgia is fun but eventually we have embrace the change. You can still buy vinyl records and listen to mp3's - or is it mp4 now?

Corporeal Beast Saturday, October 20th 7 PM BST, 2 PM EDT
We would prefer if you ranged, but if you absolutely must melee, use a dragon spear. Could also borrow a zammy spear using the Lend Item system. I tried that the last corp event. No one seems to wanna let you borrow anything on the lent system without money, which I understand, but is kinda annoying. Nonetheless, if I do come I'll probably range.

Big Chinchompa D&D Guide
Sorry the imformation i provided is incorrect...haven't played the Hunater mini game for a while....apparently Jagex changed the way the game plays so that the higher your level only the highest moths will appear...sorry for getting everyones hopes up. All moths appear at all all levels, but your three highest level moths will appear 80% of the time. 95% of the time it will be the moths you can catch. Good guide. However, I think you should add that checking shaking trees produces any moth that you can collect, most being your highest three moths. I also think you should add exp rates. At 70 hunter I can confirm that you can earn between 20K to 23k exp a game if you have a hunter level below 78 but above 65. For 80+ players I hear they earn 40k a game. Also, I hear that if you catch Grenwell Polar Kebbits in the private hunting ground you can earn 70k-76k a hour (assuming you have the tickets for it, provided by Link Olaran). I say this to say that it appears one can exclusively train hunter by this D&D if they are a casual player, hate hunter in general, or can not do herblore habitat yet. All this come from the HYT chat but if you like I can see how much I earn doing Polar Kebbits in 20 mins, as I might have enough tickets. Lastly, you might wanna change the wording on game times. You mention a 40 minute wait but I think it might be better to say that each game start on the hour every hour and only last for 20 minutes. People might get the idea that at 2:30 another game start at 3:10, when in fact the game is half way done. Otherwise good guide. :D

99 order?
Runespan makes getting in 99 in there really easy, so that might be the first on you want to get. I know when runespan came out I was just 35 runecrafting in F2P. I got to 73 in a matter of days (5 hours at runespan at most). If I truly wanted to, I could have went the distance to 80+ in F2P. I am not aware if Runespan has since been nerf'd a bit but realistically(and easily) you can get a 99 in there doing it 3 to 5 hours day as P2P. Firemaking/woodcutting/cooking might also be another one. Bonfires appear to make getting 99 in firemaking easier. If you have the money you could buy cooking. So far those are the only thing I can think of that might get you a quick 99. Mind you I don't have a 99 so you should probably take my advice with a grain of salt. Hope that helps

TMHT- Nex GWD! October 6th- 6pm BST, 1pm EST
Wow. Aside from the fact I have the lowest recommended set up for Nex and I don't even own a pair of claws or a Arma Godsword to use (don't think I wanna pay 200k and hour to borrow one either), this seems a bit out of my league. Looking at the guide, I'd say I'd have to get higher stats before going. Guess I'll sit this one out. But I hope you guys get lots of loot. \:D/

Promissory Note & Choose Your Fate rewards
I actually like this idea and agree with the thought process that a players who save and plan rather than immediately gain their reward will be able to get a larger reward, since pendants work like a large exp lamp. It might seem unfair because they can skip what would arguably be longer skilling but it promotes efficiency. Levels under 65 or even 70 aren't hard to earn. It's at the level at 70, 80, and 90 that makes it a grind. Saving now to use then is a better idea because it rewards you for the work you've done prior to. and saves you money. I myself am saving my pendant because I know I can get more use for them come time I get base 80 stats than now. It make prefect since for a player to save the pendant until 80 prayer and frost dragon bones because those bones offer the highest exp and saving until 80 offers more than at 60 or 70. So I like this idea. However, with this idea I do see an incentive problem. Most player compete against others and want that terrorbird first even if in the long run they'll get a pack yak or even unicorn faster with saving. Most -players may not see the benefit of saving charms for the long run or just using pengiun points to get levels even to save them money. Players aren't patient. From the Wiki. Interestingly no mention of Jad, Nomad, Pest Queen etc, but a specific mention of Lucien lol. Well you're not supposed to be able to kill Lucien yourself, that's why. You are supposed to kill Nomad, Jad etc. yourself, though I am thoroughly disappointed that the darts work on those - If you cannot kill them normally, you shouldn't get the reward, and that's coming from one who so far has not been able to kill Jad. I have yet to kill Jad myself, but after 4 times trying I definiately see myself killing Jad without the dart. The problem; however, is and incentive problem. If both me and you get the same reward and I use the instakill dart on Jad, what incentive do you have to not use it? So yeah, it's gonna be abused. But then I have to ask if not on Jad, Nomad and the likes, then who do we use the dart on? A goblin? Or is Kree'erre a better idea? Kree'erre is a bad idea for the reason stated in Saradomin Mage's post. It's hard to determine proper use if we can't use it on boss and monster like Jad or Nomad.

An update
So...I haven't been blogging at all. Not that my life is exciting in the least bit, but I'm keeping my readers uninformed. But here’s a little more about my life. Sunday, the south part of campus resident hall flooded. To my knowledge, it had something to do with a water main break. So of course students living on that part of campus had to evacuate their resident halls and as of now, students are sleep in our recreational facility, the RPAC. Now, I’m not a south campus resident but the water main break did effect me a bit. Sadly, the resident hall water system is all centrally connected. And because the water pressure is all jacked up, I had no shower for that night/morning. No one did. I’m not so sure about West/Central Campus (which is just two towers located near the RPAC) but North Campus residents had to go the RPAC and use their showers. I say, it’s not very fun waking up at 5am in morning to get a nice shower, which doubled sucked because I am responsible for opening the on campus office I work at on Mondays at 8am. Today, however; showers are a bit better. Thou, you’d have to take a quick shower to have some hot water at least I can get some clean water from my sink now. Hopefully everything will be cleaned up by tomorrow. As for my Runescape life, well I failed at dungeoneering. I truly hate the skill but I know it’s only because I’m not good, and I dislike the experience rates I get. I’ll have to work on getting to floor 35 so my prestige can net me some good experience. And I’ll have to learn to group dungeoneer so I can just rush earlier floors and get by 35 floors in great time. One of these days I pop into the EOE chat a dung with a few of them to learn. I also failed at 50k hunter experience a day. School requires a lot while I find time to log on I have 10,000 other things I wanna do. I have to decide if it’s better for me to quest or level. So for the most part I just do the Hunter D&D when I remember. So I’ve decided it’s probably in my best interest to do as many quest as I can and do slayer while farming. With the coming EOC on the way the more I find out, the more my interest change. Simply put I’ve hearing that chaotics are now only marginally better. Marginally. I remember A Local Guy mentioning that Goliath gloves now tie as the best 2 handed weapon in the game with the Chaotic Maul. So time before that someone mentioned a Vine Whip is the next best substitute for a rapier (despite two different attack styles). While I do want a rapier I’m better of doing slayer for now. So I’m gonna be working on a series of quest to get into Dominion Tower and get 85 attack/80 slayer. Considering I have only 77 attack, it seems like a long way. But with 12 of 20 quests needed to get in I’ll still need 81 attack/strength to get 110 combat. I might as well go for it through slayer. The weekends when I have more time can be spent doing a bit of dung. I still need a few scrolls and other item even if I don’t get a rapier. Until next time

Tip.It Times - 16th September 2012
That "Did You Know..." fact changed my life. Okay well, no. But it did educate me a lot. As for Alg"s article I agree with everything he mentioned, especially the last point. Learning something totally new is gonna be hard for all players. Granted, they provided information on how weapons and tiers worked, and little bits and piece in those "Behind the Scenes" when they were teasing us about the combat back then, it's not enough. Some guide would be nice at this stage of the beta. Now I can't totally speak for say weapon tiers, since I am a non maxed player with limited items to try (lack of quest and mini-game participation), but even looking at it now everything is the same. I remember Alg mentioning that Goliath gloves tie with the Chaotic Maul as the strongest 2 handed weapon in the beta. And some time ago someone else mentioned that a vine whip is the best substitute for a chaotic rapier. Wither this is true or not (I have no way to test it given the lack of levels) that's a huge disincentive for me to dungeoneer to 200k token. And since I'll reach 80 dungeoneering long before then, it's in my best interest now to finish all the quest required for Dominion Tower access and do more slayer task. With that said I do like the fact that Barrows (and some other mini-games) was introduced in the beta. I think Barrows is a great example of learning a combat system. At my current level I can't (inefficiency) bully my way through them anymore with melee. I think this really encourages balanced leveling, which is what Jagex hopes to accomplish (among may things). However, like Decebal mentioned, I too want to know the outcome of various styles vs. various monsters. Because it seems unreasonable to force a player to use only one style on a monster. It limits variety, when ironically, Jagex wants variety when it releases it's challenge system; which, to my knowledge, includes combat.

A summary of zammy thus far after 5 hours. About 1.3m There were a few more but I didn't screen them because they were either draggers or I missed it. But the event is still going strong, so possibly more and better drops...

Dungeoneering Tutor/Group
I don't know how else to say it. The guides here do a good job of explaining a lot, but aside from the feeling of information overload, I mostly learn by doing. I'm also too afaird to look fo a dungeoneering team on world 32 because I fear I suck so bad I'll get kicked every time and I'll never learn. So I'm looking for someone patient enough to help me learn the fundamentals of dungeoneering or a group of patient people willing to learn with me. I am not really available weekdays as I am in college but generally I have way more time on the weekends, so few hours at a time (1 - 3) is great, unless I get a random fire drill in my residents hall. I am at lvl 50 dungeoneering and as far as other stats go I'm not so good either from what I can tell. If you are interested in helping me out, you can PM me in game or respond here. Thanks for you time.
