Looks like Jagex is giving out the 350k via promisary note.

 

Basically you bank 350k and you can divy out the exp in predetermined increments.

Today is the day! If you’ve been a part of Sizzling Summer and been a member for every day of August, today you will receive a promissory note from us, directly into your inventory. If you don’t have the space, please clear a slot in your inventory and log back in to receive the note. There will be a prompt on log-in to tell you that the item is available to you. Please also note that some players may not receive the item until later in the day, as it will take a number of hours for us to award it to all eligible players.

Click on it in your inventory to open up the Bank of XP and claim your 350,000 XP. Your XP will be applied through lamps (accessible only through the Bank of XP, rather than your inventory), which are for varying amounts and have minimum level requirements for whichever skill you are wishing to apply it to. This is so you can’t accidentally apply 350k XP to one skill and suddenly find yourself having skipped through levels unintentionally! You will still be able to apply multiple lamps to the same skill if you wish, though.

We’re only halfway done, though, so don’t forget that you’ve got until midnight tonight (GMT) to purchase membership for our scorching September session of Sizzling Summer! If you’ve been a member throughout August be sure to keep your membership running until the end of September to guarantee that you get your hands on over 1 million XP and Choose Your Fate: four of the most powerful items ever seen in RuneScape.

What is this and why do I not have it. :o

Does anyone think the note is glitched?

 

The 350k lamp is only available to be used on skills over level 86 but there's nothing stopping you from using 3 100k lamps and 50k lamp to get 350k exp in a skill you are not level 86 in.

 

Basically someone could get 1-62 in a skill over the course of about 2 minutes. That's really bad design.

I think the problem is they've given out 350k xp to all players, regardless of level, who maintained their membership throughout August so they had to try and come up with a way to deter low levelled players from dumping 350k xp on one skill.

It would have probably been better as an item similar to the Mad Necklace or Hati Gloves to balance it a bit better for lower players.

The level limits do seem some what redudant; I mean if you REALLLLLY wanted to you could use 100xp lamps on low skill to get all 350k xp on it.

This is so much more beneficial to lower-level members, and as a representative of that population, I'm here to state that I am ready to take full advantage of the design of this Promissory Note. Hello, 60+ in all skills.

Wrong. The design is to allow splitting the xp over skills without accidentally putting all of the 350k xp into a skill on accident and gaining levels you may not have wanted. It allows people to choose what they want to get the total xp in. There is no discouragement for putting it all into 1 skill or not.

Right, but if this wasn't explicitly stated from Jagex, one would think it was a design flaw.

 

There seems to be a lot of outrage over this action by Jagex, which I don't really understand. At the same time, there are people who play this game to 'compete' against other players...which is also something I don't understand.

According to RSOF, delivery could take multiple hours. I'm not sure how they handle distribution. However, try logging out and back in (making sure to have space in your inventory)

Players get free xp, and yet they still complain because someone else got more out of the xp than them.

Free stuff thanks. Got my note. If you haven't gotten yours yet, just sit tight. They will get around to giving you a note sooner or later. Sometimes with these distributions it takes a while before some players get it, but you will have it soon enough.

After logging in i didn't get it but it turned up once i lobbiede then returned.

Finally got myself 80 slayer & vine whip, also a few free herby levels, plan on dumping all next months on herby too, saves me a fair bit of cash and moves me ever closer to overloads etc.

Managed to bypass the level 72 req. of 100k lamp by dumping 3 50k lamps on herblore 70-72, then a 100k to get 73 herblore.

Yes it's free XP, but it seems players on this forum (and I think RSOF for the most part) like the style that require you to have to level a skill to get the bonus XP. That was why the skill pendants were accepted without much complaint in SoF while the XP lamps were getting reviled.

 

I'll put it like this: You have two sets of rich parents. One mother gives her daughter $300 each month (basically $10/day) in allowance. The other mother tells her daughter if she gets a job, she'll match her paycheck up to $300 each month. I've not taken any polls but my gut tells me the second daughter will care more about the money she receives even though technically it was a as free as the first daughter.

 

I know Jagex isn't reading this, but they had the right idea with Mad May necklaces, Hati Gloves and Skill pendants. I know people are saving up pendants in hopes of using them later.

 

I'd offer this humble suggestion even: Let players use prized pendants as XP storage devices from lamps and other pendants. If you use a lamp or skill book on a prized pendant, it stores 1.5 time the xp you would have gotten immediately. Specific skill lamps must be used on the same type of prized pendant. If you use a pendant or prized pendant on a same type prized pendant, the xp is just transferred.

 

Now, players that are willing to hold off on immediate gratification get a larger reward. In addition, it helps players that are storing pendants to save on bank space in the long term. The question then is: Does Jagex offer an in game way to access these prized pendants or just keep them on the SoF? My gut says they could sell these with loyalty points, making them permanent and the xp stored is not lost even if the pendant gets lost.

I was pretty sure the mad may necklace was supposed to last forever...

i had 3 accounts eligble for 350k exp so for fun i used one to get 1 to 62 slayer it took few mins
