  1. Since the update? Are you sure? Because I've done around 50-60 level 3s since then.
  2. I'll bet the lender will need to be very close by.
  3. But lowering normal defense doesn't have that much effect. Lowing magic level will make it's magic attacks hit slightly less, and yours hit slightly more, since magic defense is based a lot on magic level. So yeah, zammy flames ARE better. As well as cheaper. But with no autocast... it'd be hard.
  4. Ahaha, that'd be fun, but no. :P Since the update, I haven't had a single level 3 that took <6 steps. It's always been 6, 7, or 8.
  5. I'm thinking Jagex might put a price cap on it. It'd mainly be to replace loaning someone your tinderbox so they can get a log to cook their precious precious lobbies on Karamja. Maybe at 200qp there's no cap or something, though...
  6. I swear to you. I've had a clue that was 3 parts(before the update) and a clue that was 7 parts(after the update). I have no reason to lie. 110% True. But yeah, I always do clues when I get them. Just today I got Rune(T) Skirt and another clue worth about 150k. : So... They're still worth it for me. :) I know some clues feel SHORTER and LONGER, but you'll often forget about a step. There are a few glitches with clues too - getting a casket in a casket and such, that's the only way I can see that you can get less than 4 "clues" but you'll still get 4 rewards. I've done literally thousands of clues and have never experienced anything other than clues that are 4-6 parts long. Also, if 3 part clues were available I'd hate getting one, even at 4 parts you're 33% more likely of getting a reward (By giving you an additional item) I've recorded 8 step clues on several occasions since the update.
  7. Now that's a "made up percentage ftl". It's nowhere near 15% more. If it was, it would be awesome, and would probably cost over 10m today. The speed increase is so slight, that it's probably closer to one or two extra logs every hundred cut.
  8. Haha, now I must say "who cares?" Honestly. The icon for high detail mode? I'm DYING to know.
  9. Mmm, yeah, you have to keep in mind that you still have a cape, necklace, boots, shield, and ring for more range attack. For black dragons, I'd say void.
  10. No, actually, in my experience, hides work better on Steels+ ranged defense. Really, if your ranged level is high enough, you can use it on a lot. the attack bonus from a rune cbow is a ton. On most monsters, it's plenty. Just don't complain when you spend 10 minutes shooting at a steel dragon when you have 80 ranged. ;) Ranged level accuracy helps a lot, so Void is more for high leveled rangers if you want to use it practically and commonly. I use it on pretty much any slayer task when I range them. Nechs, black demons, iron dragons, kalphite guardians, blue dragons, etc... it owns for those. Just don't try use it on things like waterfiends, steels, miths, or boss hunting.
  11. It does mean for, say, Spiritual Mage hunters, they don't need to do a Burthorpe task for the chance to get another Mage one. Abyssal Demon hunters used to do that, at least.
  12. I like it. It's fast, and the skin goes nicely with the Tip It layout, instead of just looking like they rented a boring old PhpBB site. Also, is it possible to get the clickable high score links on peoples' RSNs back? I used those a ton.
  13. Eh, Pest Control is like half speed good training. The monsters all have very low defense, so you can get somewhere around 30k exp per hour with monster/portal killing alone, seeing as you have infinite prayer for piety, and your special attack is recharged every game. So the time spent isn't totally useless. If it takes 10 hours, and you could do around 60k exp per hour normally, you could say you're buying Void Range gear in exchange for 300k range exp. And you need to decide if that's worth it to you. I personally, am not going for 99 ranged "by any means necessary" like most people are. I do all my ranged through slayer, and I only take levels as a bonus whilst training slayer. So getting void range was a good idea for me, as it pretty much turns mith bolts into addy, and addy into rune.
  14. I would be so happy if I still got rune items worth about that much every "dud" clue. But with the new update, you're lucky to get a level 3 worth over 30k.
  15. Actually, now that I think about it, a small boost in mining speed could be worth a ton. On lower leveled ores, it's almost always a set amount of time, but still a "one hit". Try mining an iron ore, and then try a piece of clay. You'll see what I mean. If iron ore was sped up by just a tiny increment, it could make tremendous boosts in exp per hour. Woodcutting is something that can't be perceived as clearly as this, so we can't really tell that there's much of a boost going on. But if the pick were to speed up all mining a bit, it wouldn't be very noticeable at all on higher leveled ores, but on iron in particular, it would be amazing. Hm. Does a d axe cut normal trees any faster than a rune axe? This would be a way to find out if Jagex would follow this hypothesis.
  16. PC's not that boring. A lot of people like it. There are MUCH more boring minigames in RS. :P
  17. Don't cancel waterfiends. Just learn how to do them effectively. I'm sure sometime in your RS career you'll be hunting them, so why not do a bit now? If you can't kill half of the task in one trip, check your inventory, try out one of the few guides there are on them. It can't take you *that* long to finish a task, right? :
  18. Huh. Could've sworn this topic already came up once. I still do all the clues I get, just in case. But I'd never hunt for clues again. The rewards are just terrible unless you're the 1 out of 10,000 that gets a 3rd age item. I rarely break 30k in my clue rewards. And if I do, whoop de doo, I got a rune plate.
  19. On a monster where accuracy doesn't matter as much, VK is irreplacable. Your range damage goes up by a few points, which is a big deal. And with a Rune Cbow, the missing attack bonuses aren't missed at all, assuming you're not going after, say, steels.
  20. It's the extra +30s in defense that matter to me. One of those with Barrows armor and a DFS and a Bunyip, and you can melee most tasks without other healing at all.
  21. My last task in which I got 82 was 189 of them. Heh. Although for the other charms, I only got something like 15 greens and golds, and a couple blues. Don't go expecting you'll get 80s from them, as you should see from our logs.
  22. Think about every monster you've killed in RS. If you picked up every single charm, you'd have worked your way to most of the summoning you'd need. So it's not really *that* much harder than the other combat skills. Though you wouldn't be able to tell unless you had been training summoning since you were a level 3. Kinda like how if you used every bone from every monster you ever killed, you'd have prayer trained through combat.
  23. Heh. Five Greater tasks in a row. Now I'm on steel drags. :D :) :| :-k :wall:
  24. They're completely different skills. :P Hunter, as I said, was a gathering skill, which is pretty cool. But it should've been made an extremely slow skill. Like, 90 xp per red chin. Summoning is expensive, unrewarding (unless many many extreme tweaks happen), and fast, in which case fast is bad, as it means even MORE max total people in the high scores. We're in need a slow, self improvement skill. But we at least didn't get another money pit until Summoning.
