I'd just use the worlds that are full like 1,3,4,5.

I'd just go with the "good" side, its generally easier to get the pendant back than from the "evil".

Not following the target I think would be the only way, or cast a spell that stops them from moving for a while like ancients or bind.

Its so they try to waste as little hp as possible while you lose more.
