  1. My crew members are mostly level 10 now, including my [bleep]ing multi-talented Tiger Rider. :) A few of them, however, still have negative traits. It just didn't seem worth it to replace at the time that they were low level because I didn't have the resources, and it didn't seem worth it later because by then they were pretty high leveled (and now, for that matter). None of them really have the downs though, just a few like feeble, mutinous, liability, slow-witted, and albatross. Out of all those liability is the only one that could hurt (-1% combat). Funny that it's on a Tiger Rider too. It'd be great if they released missions that randomly removed negative traits or something. Unfortunately it seems like PoP was a kind of "Construction" release - brought out in a huge chunk and forgotten about for a half a year or more.
  2. Just went to Zil (not hard mode). She was just as easy as ever ( 8-) ). I did come close to dying on two separate occasions out of the many, many we killed her. Not necessarily update-related, but Flurry allowed us to kill each minion 2-3 times per boss, probably a solid 3 if I positioned myself efficiently everytime.
  3. What scrimshaws should I focus on unlocking for Magic/Ranged? I don't even know how to quantify the crit hit chances. How do they translate into actual performance? I'm trying to achieve the absolute "best" loadouts for each style. I'm less interested in auras, but what are the best ones for Magic/Ranged anyway?
  4. We do agree. It's been too long. But this was to be expected based on boss release history. They shouldn't have released just T90 melee weapons without a plan to expediently roll out T90 Magic and Ranged, from new bosses or other equally challenging activites (Ports?). But... JaGEx. Or HtGEx. What the [bleep] ever they are now. But allow me to convolute my point by adding that I suppose I would prefer them to take their sweet time, rather than screw up the 90 tier as they have all the others (as was the discussion last page).
  5. 1 chi off SS Hood. Blew a bunch of boosters on 5 chi mission just to guarantee 100%. Sea Singer Hood tomorrow, woo! 170/200 Lacquer. No scrolls for it, or 90 Crafting even, so whatever.
  6. It's only been 3.5 months since kk release, not very long imo. Yeah. And how often do they release huge new bosses? My point... @Runar, I agree. (Not going to quote all that :P) But my actual point was that maybe, just maybe, they're trying NOT to make that same mistake at Tier 90 by only having T90 weapons come from bosses comparable to KK. And since they only release a boss like KK every year, maybe 2, if we're lucky, it could still be a while.
  7. Do the soulstones keep charges indefinitely, or are they used any time you enter the room, just off the soulstone instead? Also, if you get the soulstone then fight the normal version of the boss will it absorb those kills, or only those from hard mode? I'm seeing little reason to bother with hard mode really... Also on the topic of imbalance because there aren't T90 weapons for Ranged/Magic, I'll agree it's pretty dumb that they've waited this long. However, I can only assume it's because they want an equally challenging way of releasing them as KK. At the moment, T80 weapons are kind of all over the place in difficulty. I think it goes without saying that Dungeoneering for Chaotics (other than Claws) and Nexing for Wand/Book/Bow are far more difficult than getting a Royal Crossbow, or Vine Whip (if Vine Whip is even truly T80).
  8. On NIS right now, just discovered the ability to resize my minimap. However, you can stretch the bounds to be far larger than the actual map is. What I'm wondering is when we finally have both NIS and beta, will RS3 with its seamless loading have the enlarged minimap fully filled in, possibly allowing us to run huge distances with single clicks?
  9. Disparaging how many things in the video were microtransaction content with little actual impact in the game, placed there to make it seem a bit more exciting... Come on. It would have been more genuine and probably had the same effect if they'd showed off some flashy abilities instead. My friend just made the comment that it's like advertising Solomon's General Store with HTML5...
  10. I think that having different specified types of armor is progress. Like many if not all other aspects of EoC it's simply an attempt to solidify and expand upon a trend found within the roots of the original combat system. I don't harbor any delusion that they fully succeeded with this update. There are many things that I would do differently, namely having basic armors that have balanced stats, with a choice in specializing them towards offense or defense. I don't know if I want class-all to exist at all. It would be far more interesting to have to mix and match armor, like before, to attain the stats you need, with the same basic effect of having good performance in multiple areas rather than specializing in only one.
  11. I'm really hoping we can keepsake more than one weapon, and that maybe they expand the armor keepsaking to more than 1 item per slot too. In any case I've just remembered how awesome looking and relatively rare the Dominion Staff is. :) Dominion Crossbow is pretty neat too but there's no off-hand. Going to wait to get any though, just in case they decide to pull a JaGEx and make a new kind of key.
  12. "Seems ready for release!"-MMG I figured out it was due to logging into beta with Supreme Corruption active. As soon as I unequipped it, everything was more or less fixed. EDIT: Was trying to get some Waterbirth pictures. Found ROTM cutscene instead. Also, standing on rope.
  13. I'm not entirely sure what you meant to say. Why would you lol at someone in full melee gear fighting something that only uses Ranged? Isn't that practically the only time you should be wearing a full set of classed items - when you expect to be hit by only what you're strongest against?
  14. I fear you've sorely misunderstood everything I said. By ambiguity, I meant that the gods would not be represented as their stereotypes. We've seen a slight hint in this vein by Saradomin's clearly ulterior motives - that he is not purely "good" just because he is law, that "law" as an attribute may be separated from its positive connotation making way for a far more interesting narrative. As for Zamorak in particular, there would appear an implied focus on the value of the individual, of striving for personal goals (not necessarily only gaining power), but I have no idea why you would take that to mean that one cannot have allies. As for Zaros... I had thought it confirmed he was to be the god of control. In either case I don't see how it's relevant.
  15. If you know me at all then you'd know the only thing for me is the God Emissaries. Admittedly it certainly sounds interesting but to be honest I'm a bit concerned that they'll pull a typical JaGEx and make the different factions as stereotypical as possible. I really liked some tenants of the gods' representations being left to personal imagination. The best example, and what I'm mainly worried about, is that I've always believed Zamorak represented a personal will to achieve what you want, in spite of anyone else, something of an individualistic value. With this update they'll probably just make him sound like more of an evil prick than they already do. I was hoping with this being the year of the gods they'd shy away from that and blanket everything in a little more ambiguity but the updates so far haven't indicated as much. EDIT Ok actually it sounds like I'll be able to keepsake Primal Rapiers. Good month!
  16. I think they may be taking a few steps back with each update... Everyone else has idle animations, but I just slide around like a block leaving a pretty particle trail where friction rears its ugly head as I skirt along the ground. Also weapons sheathed but D-Rapier is casting Iban Blast! And have fun trying to pronounce my name.
  17. Ideally, Obsidian armor is going to become the T80 class all/hybrid with the removal of x3 splinter damage (pretty much confirmed by the video I believe). I wouldn't be surprised to see Glacor boots/Automaton gloves become offensive alongside an introduction of PoP boots/gloves and perhaps further T85 offensive head/body/leg slots over the coming year. To fill in the gaps, Chaotic armor could be introduced for T80 defensive and Hybrid could be made useable outside of minigames for T85 hybrid. I realize of course that some pieces of Hybrid gear are quite easy to get (namely gloves) and others take inordinately long times (helms, legs), but I'm sure something could be done to make it fairer, compared to obtaining other equipment pieces of the same levels. I'm not really sure what they could do at tier 70, however. Perhaps Elite Void could be bumped up a bit to become the hybrid class there? The truth is that Nex and PoP armors should have never been considered direct competition for one another as they're on two different tiers, especially considering that the 5-level difference means a greater disparity in stats the further up the tiers you go.
  18. Seems like a great place to expand the Wilderness! Further to what I was trying to show before. It seems all items rotate when dropped.
  19. Going to start posting any beta pictures here, unless they would be more appropriate for the Pictures thread itself. Kelda flooded. Time to see how long I can hold my breath! Also: Jesus dwarves.
  20. Great... Obviously I expect too much. -.-
  21. Some probabily will, but no doubt that prospect in itself also vastly increased GP from spins during the span of this promotion... Honestly I don't like how any of the weapons look. Well, at least not enough to put any effort into obtaining them. My question is, why does JaGEx continue to release cosmetic outfits on the SoF, rather than cosmetic overrides? Obviously they'll make a bit more money if someone really wants to keepsake an item, but I figure that most people who care about cosmetics have already used their keepsake slots. Having items that are otherwise cosmetic - and that does pretty much include star weapons - come straight off the Squeal as overrides would be quite a bit more incentivizing to spin for. That especially includes items that can't be keepsaked anyway, like these weapons.
  22. I don't believe there was any mention of Nex in that video. I wasn't necessarily expecting a Nex Hard Mode, but does that mean there won't be any instancing, either?
  23. From one station This and below from the other Unfortunately this is the best that can be done without a functioning OoO.
  24. Take it easy, it's more of a clerical thing I figured they did to make items easier to find. @Above, I suppose that's true...
  25. I don't speak Spanish AT ALL, but don't you think it'd probably be better for Armadyl (and other names) to be the first word in the titles of items, for ease of finding them?
