  1. I think the trade limit may have put a damper on this activity.
  2. Yeah, the guide assumes the story on the message board is the same for everyone doing the quest. It is not.
  3. Make sure you actually accept the task given. Don't just run off to get the bars without telling the director you accept. I made this mistake.
  4. Well, this is the classic if not definitive guide. And the author remains active on the thread.
  5. Were you actually able to travel there without doing the quest? The RS Game Manual says you can't charter a ship to Port Phasmatys unless you have completed Ghosts Ahoy. I guess if you were able to, the game manual is either incorrect or it's a bug. See: here. Scroll down to 'Charter Ships".
  6. These are some serious limitations! :) Off the top of my head, I suggest killing goats in Nardah. There are a number of them just west of the bank and the horns are quite salable. You should be able to take the carpet ride from Shantay Pass to Pollnivneach, then run to the south and take another carpet from Pollnivneach to Nardah. That should cost you around 500 gp. Don't forget to buy and bank plenty of waterskins - and fill them with water before you go as you won't have access to water in Nardah without completing a quest.
  7. You do not need to talk to the guildmaster at all in the middle of the quest. Unless you didn't talk through all of the options before. And if you didn't then you would not be able to buy the boat, hence the suggestion to talk to him again.
  8. You probably need to talk to the master at the Champions Guild again. See if there isn't a specific question about the ship and/or getting to Crandor.
  9. Even if you pay a gardener to watch your trees or crops, they can still get diseased and cured and therefor miss a couple of growing cycles. Also, there is the timing of when you plant vs. when the growing timer ticks. Game updates can mess up the growing times as well. I do not know the definitive answer but I do know that those times can vary wildly. Once it took well over 24 hours for me to grow a banana tree.
  10. The GE minimum price is just over 6k. Might make it more affordable than you thought.
  11. Have you completed Jungle Potion quest?
  12. A lot of quest bosses disappear if it takes too much time to kill them. How are you fighting?
  13. How so? And if so, what do you suggest as an update to the Guthans method? Brews, Enhanced Excalibur, SGS, Soul Split. With 99 defense i was able to get to jad on EE heals and a few brew sips. So it is not so much outdated as it is inferior to other methods at higher levels of skills and equipment. The Guthans method is still viable for those without those abilities/equipment options, is it not?
  14. How so? And if so, what do you suggest as an update to the Guthans method?
  15. Just a(n) FYI: Constitution is still listed as Hitpoints in the stats section of the Quest Calculator. [Crew edit: This is fixed. Thank you! - Speedyshel
  16. Thanks for mentioning that, I didn't realize it was possible.
  17. Yes, you will die during the quest. Multiple times if you are like most players. Good news is that armour doesn't work so there is no need to take anything expensive with you. You will be able to do it as easily as anyone, though. Just read a good guide first.
  18. Maybe giving something for people to become members for? Something for people to look forward to, and be "exciting", and different? There aren't many things on r.s to look forward to that you know are definitely happening (obviously things like monsters drops, but they are not certain.) Also allows people to train their most hated skills, thus being less bored. All in all to increase money obviously. Bingo! I agree. I bet memberships have fallen off a bit since school began for the semester. And I will be training agility because I hate running around in circles for hours on end. At least this will cut that time down a bit while I get a few needed levels. I think it is a nice idea.
  19. From all of the sources I have read, it is not possible.
  20. This was changed with the Fur n Seek quest update. The initial Rag and Bone Man quest gives 2 quest points now, with the wishlist being essentially optional.
  21. This is true. The only caveat is that the player assisting you must also have purchased the knowledge to make them.
  22. Do any of you long-time players/questers remember if the option to pay Glough 200k to give you the completed puzzle was in the quest from the beginning? Or was it added later because it frustrated so many players who were incapable of doing sliding puzzles? I suspect the latter, but thought someone here might know for certain. By the way, I think it is a fair compromise.
  23. That makes perfect sense as none of those drops are tied to the Ring of Wealth.
  24. There are loads of ways to get around. Have a look at this guide. Some have quest start or completion requirements but all are worth it.
