  1. A lot of teams play the trap on occasion. Many teams don't play it regularly... But yeah, one thing Boucher is very good at is flexible strategy. He's the complete opposite of Julien in that regard, which hurts boston a lot I think.
  2. Whoooaaaaaaaa Pretty sure my opinions on all of them are well known. As for the healthcare thing, maybe justifiable in a public healthcare system. Certainly not in a private one.
  3. Wasn't that during the first Cryptic Clue Event where we overloaded and crashed the forum server? Yup :P
  4. TB is the only trap team in the playoffs currently. Boston plays good D, focused but I wouldn't call it the trap. Also, TB doesn't play a true trap, and the reason I hate the trap is because it's boring. Good thing is, Tampa has enough offensive firepower to keep the games pretty interesting.
  5. I resent your implication. I was not accusing you of anything. You, no. Wicked, yes. @grimy: we've already made our stance quite plain. Things don't happen overnight.
  6. Majority are inactive, doubt there are more than 10k banned.
  7. No, but I can fault you for accusing us of deliberately swaying the email without any evidence of us doing so.
  8. How were they contacted within 5 minutes last time, and this time has taken 3+ days? Also, I too would like to see this e-mail; both sent and received. The reason being, if I went up to authorities and said, "These people are botting and trying to say they are not with the following functions... Mind setting them straight?" What do you think the reply is going to be? Thanks. I think that's very unreasonable. Jagex has the ability to decide for themselves given the evidence what is appropriate and what is not. How is it unreasonable? Surely you're not trying to hide something. Not saying providing the email we sent them is unreasonable, saying that Jagex will do whatever we supposedly asked them to is unreasonable.

  10. Sorry to burst your bubble, but I estimate at least 10k of those are spambots...

Yeah, that's basically right @dsavi. I do want to take a look at their source though, i'll hunt around.... Because since it's open source (depending on how they're generating the keys), you may be able to see the encryption algorithm they're using. EDIT: Half of it looks like it's in assembly, F that
  12. Well, like the rebuttal says, it doesn't really take context into account. If it's true I'm not surprised, advertising has become increasingly heavy-handed over the past twenty years so it's only natural that people become more self-centered.
  13. Meh. These films (since the second) have been so far from the book that I can't imagine how anyone who hasn't read the books can actually understand what's going on. That said, hp7 part one was a bit better so I'm looking forward to this one anyway.
  14. Doubt it. I think every single one of our mods is competent enough to enforce the rules separate from the factuality of rs related content. We're only human, and bound to make occasional mistakes, but I don't see that some mods need to be "controlled" which is what you're basically suggesting.
  15. I don't, because in every board, there are far many more problems dealing with actual rulebreaking then there are RS specific arguments. Once again, if we were to make moderators specifically for metagame, their focus would be on the detailed, specific RS stuff, but other mods would still have powers to deal with other rulebreaking.
  16. I'd be cool with a SJ/BOS final too though. The only team I really don't want to win is TB, only because if they do they'll spawn their glorified trap imitations, which makes for pretty boring hockey.
  17. Well, local moderators wouldn't have that. But both our global and super moderator ranks dictate that you've earned the responsibility of having mod power on all boards, even if you'll rarely need to use them.
  18. Please justify this taking into consideration content heavy boards such as metagaming and H&A. Edit: Y_Guy, I understand this may apply for you, but not all mods are as sensible as you are. Wouldn't it be a good idea to recruit more mods who are in touch with current, high-level content and have them focus on content while other mods who know less about those things can focus in other areas. I mean to put an actual official policy in place to stop certain mods (derp) from posting on boards such as metagaming while at the same time getting more manpower to moderate those boards? We try to, but once again we aren't going to make people mods who aren't suitable to be moderators. And there will never be an official policy put in place to stop certain mods from posting, we're not going to tell our staff members they aren't good enough to do something. It's up to their discretion. But yeah, we are always looking for moderators who are able to both moderate according to the rules and have a good understanding of high level RS content.
  19. May not be as bad as it was made to sound http://www.michaelgeist.ca/content/view/5794/125/ True. Glad to see that, was not a fan of the original language.
  20. Realistically, it was probably one of his guards or kids rather than him.
  21. Apparently there was porn found in his house. Kind of funny, they expected him to be all busy polishing guns or something but really he was just watching porn
  22. Aha and I want a VAN/BOS final.
  23. This post sums it up quite nicely. While we value active, high level RS experience in choosing staff members, just because someone doesn't have it doesn't mean they won't be a good moderator. By extension, of course, this works the opposite way; just because someone is extremely knowledgeable about RS doesn't mean they'll make a good moderator. In a perfect world you'd always be able to have both but this isn't always the case. For example, I almost never deal with reports from gen, or H&A, or metagame unless there's an obvious infraction, because I accept the fact that in many cases I no longer have the knowledge of the game to properly understand the situation. In that case I defer to someone else who is in a better position to pass judgement on the issue.
