  1. That sounds pretty awesome :) I'm not really doing much atm since I'm not in school, half-heartedly working on a phpbb3 mod but I doubt that'll go anywhere.
  2. Well, if we beat buffalo on Saturday (definitely doable) we'll be back around the playoff line..
  3. Just like you deny the increasing tolerance towards drugs, homosexuals, pornography, and many things that have become far more commonplace, right?

Oh god, I hate it when parents do that. Give your dog a stupid name, not your kid :( I still maintain what I said before - if people want to make fun of you they'll find another way to do it. You seem to have already made up your mind, however...
  5. John Mitchell sucks balls? He was crucial to Kaberle's goal with great maneuvering in the OZ. He's better than Zygomanis at any rate... But yeah, leafs played well. I had a feeling we wouldn't do well in the shootout though, but at least we got a good amount of goals from some not so regular producers.
  6. Glad to see this, crew does a ton of work for tip.it and it's great to see more of what you do behind the scenes out in public!
  7. Getting a bit spammy here... if you aren't going to contribute, don't post ;)

Thing is, while not ever person with a gun is crazy enough to kill someone who eggs their car, restrictions on guns prevent those crazy people from getting guns. That's why, while it is a small minority, you don't see the same volume of these "only in america" gun stories as you do in any other country. While there may be "no official correlation" between gun ownership and gun crime, the fact is that crime is still much much higher. Society may be violent, yes, but we're facilitating that by allowing easy access to guns for people who don't need them.
  9. Excellent, missed this. Will read it once I get home from work :)

But if gun laws were more lax and mostly everyone was carrying a gun then robbery wouldn't happen because the robber would be afraid of getting shot... I see what your talking about but gun laws really need to be a happy medium to where people really want one can get it in a reasonable amount of time, while shady people would be somewhat restricted to applying for a gun permit Yet this has proven to be totally untrue, as gun crime is incredibly high in the states despite many of the innocent being better armed then the criminals.
  11. Burke's trades haven't been very helpful. It's hard for the fans (I'm not one btw) to see Burke trade away draft picks for players when they're trying to rebuild, so I guess it's misleading. Also, Oilers just scored 3 straight to tie with the Canucks  I don't understand this attitude at all. He traded a pick for kessel. That pick ended up being a player with some promise who may score 20 goals this year. Kessel is 40 goal scorer practically guaranteed, and I beleive if he has the right line-mates he can push 50. It's not like he's trading draft picks for 35 year old veterans. The entire team is very young and won't be competitive for another year or two, yet already we've seen a significant improvement over last year (even if the past few games haven't been great).
  12. I've found many people who get tattoos have a very average personality and are trying to make themselves superficially more interesting...obviously not everyone but still.
  13. They'd want draft picks probably. They couldn't afford kaberle. Game tonight was lame (didn't see much though). Phaneuf got booed as he left the ice injured, toronto fans are such [bleep]s sometimes. It's unreasonable to expect them to come from nowhere and be a cup team.

Yes, arming the populace helps kill innocent people, and arms the criminals too.. Who still keeps the guns when the populace have to turn their guns in? Criminals. No matter what laws you bring in, no matter how much you tighten up security, criminals will always get their hands on guns. As long as guns exist, criminals will get them. If they don't exist, they'll make them. With $200 and a Sunday afternoon off and I could have a built-from-scratch revolver that will take shotgun rounds. I'd probably break my wrist firing it, but it's not that hard to make one. Yet the statistics aren't conducive to this conclusion, as the States has far higher rates of gun crime per capita then countries where guns are severely restricted.
  15. Rip, you guys were definitely unique and I will actually miss the beef/topics to some extent :(
  16. I'm curious to see what happens once boston and jersey get over their injury troubles, they basically both have to make a trade...

If people want to make fun of you, they'll find a way to do it, through your name or otherwise. I'm not a huge fan of my name but I don't mind it, and I don't see much positive benefit unless I was planning to completely alienate everyone I knew. So go for it, I guess, but make sure you've thought it through fully.

Only in America. I'm not a fan of private possession of guns, but I feel the driver had all right to shoot the kid. The driver had a right to be annoyed. He didn't have a right to kill someone because he got egg on his car.
  20. sadface Apparently they brought Caputi up and put him first line just so he could stand in front of the net...
  21. I've never understood the "women can't drive stereotype". My mom is a far better driver than my dad, and my girlfriend is fine as well.

  23. Hmm. I haven't logged on in ages, I wonder if that's happened to me lol...
  24. It could be a variety of things. Check your connection settings, you may have something set up in firefox that you don't have elsewhere. If you have a firewall, that could be preventing IE/Chrome from accessing the internet.
  25. Just because you want to keep certain things about your relationship private doesn't mean you're using your girlfriend. If you ever start feeling like you're getting more than you're giving, take another look at it. Until then, you're fine.
