    Today...

Anti-striking laws targeted towards the general public are stupid. Pretty sure I've already made my feelings known about the actual validity of the strike...
  2. Lawns/snow shoveling is good at your age. Not sure about farms, but most "official businesses", at least where I'm from, tend to prefer people at least 16 years old.
  3. I think they're the clear favourite and have been since they beat STL.
  4. That's exactly how it works (I work for a trucking company) :P They generally try to economize by putting things together that are going to the same locale, although I admit that Dallas to San Antonio is probably, like you say, a pretty well traveled route..
  5. Well, to an atheist such as me or you, we imagine "I will pray for you" meaning "I want to help you, but I don't actually want to do anything." Which is the exact same message given by the people saying "I'll think of you", except they don't actually think it will help.
  6. They may say it but they dont, most of them use it in place of "dang that sucks bro" How do you know they don't? I dont in the slightest. In my own personal experience only the hardliners say it and they say it to every other person they talk to. Perhaps they do have quick prayers every minute or two, that or keep a mental or physical note. Or they say it for the sake of conversation, and to express their views. I haven't a clue but I lean towards the latter out of my personal biases. Speaking out of personal experience, I know many people who make a point of praying for specific others regularly when they've told them they will. Of course, you can argue about whether prayer actually does anything, but I don't think you can argue that it's a nice thought at very least if the person praying for you thinks it's doing good.
  7. Finals aren't going to be any more entertaining lol, although I've personally enjoyed both series'.

    Cars

    Wow that's really neat.
  10. For once, I think I actually agree with you. Either it's wrong to eat any animal, or it's fine to eat any animal. I think it's fine. Not saying I'd do it myself, but I don't see anything objectionable about it.
  11. Even radioactive decay may not be truly random (I had this discussion here once quite some time ago). Just because we don't have the means of predicting when an atom will split or realization of the cause or pattern of the event doesn't mean it isn't present.
  12. Not at all - people don't notice, people's personalities make them afraid to do something noticeable, people reason that the person doesn't really need a seat...far more complex than just saying selfish or otherwise.
  13. How many times have the many logical reasons people choose monogamy over polyamory need to be explained to you lol? I also find it funny that you think people's feelings and emotions would just disappear if they decided to be polyamorous.. Has it also occurred to you that just because the angsty teenagers on this thread have unrealistic expectations of a monogamous relationship that not all people do?
  14. Lol touche. We're free within certain constraints.
  15. Fair enough. As far as I know (here at least) religion isn't taught from more than a historical perspective in public schools. (Except in separate schools which are aimed at Catholics although being publicly funded).
  16. Funny that you mention Christopher Hitchens not wanting to legislate against religion, yet he , and I'm not sure how much more of an implicit "religious education should be illegal" comparison you could make. Peter Hitchens sums that thought up nicely Note: This isn't the full article (I couldn't find it online. I have the book but am not going to transcribe 1k words).
  17. I made a clear argument - I suppose you missed it. My argument is that atheism causes people to be stupid. I've bolded the argument part. I freely admit that I've presented no evidence in that direction, but as per my understanding of your post (and croc's) this was not necessary.
  18. Why? I thought I didn't have to provide any evidence for claims I made?
  19. Okay. Atheism causes people to be stupid.
  20. In what world should one be allowed to make claims without any evidence?
  21. I assure you a lot of people would use proxies just to be able to download free stuff.
  22. Canada stomps Kazakhstan today. Can't say I'm surprised, but they (KZK) did play pretty well for the first half of the game. And NYR eliminates WSH - not surprising either. Series ended up being exactly like I thought and could really have gone either way.. LAK vs PHX - LAK in 7 NYR vs NJ - NYR in 6 LA-NYR final...LA in 6
