The Back Room
I thought you were a member of the PC gaming master race, Stork?

Minecraft General
I love the underground lake feature on it. Although tthey now spawn without it, according to the latest content update.

Sorry I wasn't present, by the way. I've been on and off my PC at 5 minute intervals all day, and it has been quite annoying overall. I was a fairly important part of the mission at that point, so I'm sorry if you were forced to change things on my account Archi.

But we mostly fight in metal corridors anyway, meaning that situations where a bow has it's disadvantages will come along a whole lot more often than one where the laser does.

In the end, I can't stop you, but it reduces the overall efficiency of our combat group, and that sort of thing kind of ticks me off. It's just who I am I guess.

Yes... I just finished my homework. #Dungeons8

A lasers power can be adjusted to kill a person at a long range while being indetectable, or increased to blow through a tank. I have nothing with lasers, but I'm just saying that in this case, a laser will beat a bow no matter what. Most other weapons will, too. There is a reason people stopped using them in the 1600s.

I'm not seeing it. Melee weapons may still have their uses, but a ranged medieval weapon, compared to a laser...?

Dungeoneering Again
Nah, the laptop isn't on yet.

Session will be delayed to 10, perhaps 10:30, depending on how long this homework takes.

I don't think it'll be useful... When we have silent lasers which can also be modified to fire on neural command. Or guns which already shoot poisoned rounds. Or phasers.

I'd rather we didn't take a step backwards and start using physical munitions again, really. We have things like time ion cannons and null space projectors now, so it just seems a little wasteful, as these things likely have much more potential than physical munitions.

I assure you that Drake can be (relatively speaking) trusted. He may have secrets, but then again, so do I, and so would you.

Well, Nero is captain, I'm co-captain, Drake is second officer, and Theros is third officer... I mean, unless you want a more specialised title, there aren't any leading positions left. You know I trust you and will listen to what advice you have to offer though, so take that as a consolation.

Incostistancies which are nigh impossible to fix with any real amount of ease.

Nex, I really doubt you are any better for the position than I am, so please do not imply that you are always the calm and collected one who can fix the command structure of the ship (Which, I might add, there is nothing wrong with. It seems chaotic because of a couple anomolous factors, but everyone knows who is in charge, and people generall know who is in charge when myself or Nero is away.) in seconds and increase our efficiency. I would ask that you stop ranting about the command structure. It's perfectly fine as it is.

Dungeoneering Again
Indeed, but it will still be divided up between all magic types used. Also, I will never reveal something like the relative magic level of an NPC, because it could potentially be gamebreaking knowledge.
-
Space
That's because it was supposed to be comical. I mean, why else would the AI put a kill crazy AI in, aside from comedy value.

Dungeoneering Again
Nah, warp has very few limitations, really, but it tires you out very quickly and is fairly prone to failure.

I don't know, I think blaming everything on luck is overconfidence in part as well. You do make some truly awful decisions, like running off without backup or teleporting an asteroid into the cargo bay without checking for things like ceasium first. That said, if you just listened once in a while instead of constantly charging ahead, I think it would be easier for both of us.
-
Dungeoneering Again
Basically, Mather, trying to make one kind of magic perform the roles of all the others, as was the case with the cold fire and hot ice in the previous dungeoneering games.

You forgot overconfidence.

Actually, Archi does make a lot of sense. You seem to jump to a conclusion and then fill in the blanks afterwards. It happened with the asteroid, it has happened many times with your suit designing, it happened with your not-so-superweapon, and it happened in this ship as well. Why can't you just accept that sometimes you are wrong, and sometimes, listening to people is a good idea. You sent a message throughout a derelict ship which has been missing for 30 years and has been confirmed hostile (There were three corpses in the starting room...) to hide. You removed our element of surprise, and I wouldn't be surprised if Volta has spent the last 30 years developing some sort of bioweapon which is now primed for use on us. As a second point, a lone confrontation is something you do not want, and boasting about the coulds, woulds, and shoulds of said confrontation will get you nowhere except six feet under the ground. Your confidence in your own abilities is fairly well described as "Arrogant" and somewhat accurately described as "sheer, unrestrained hubris", so why don't you just stop for a second. Take a step back, get better judge of the situation, think things through, and listen to people instead of insisting that your own route is correct and closing your mind off to anything else?

Dungeoneering Again
This is getting kind of annoying now. I don't want to introduce a system which reduces the amount of freedom people have, which is the main reason I didn't implement an idea like that at the start... But you do not need weapon skills to do those things, Archi. If you have a set of knives, you don't need to be a master knife thrower to use them as tent pegs... The weapon skills really only apply to combat. How about I just balance all xp? From now, the average will be .3. If you use something with two schools, you get a .2 and a .1, and if you use something with 3, you get .1, .1, and .1. That sorts the xp problem out. As for magic versatility, while I still do not see a problem with it, I will try to allow more freedom. If you say something stupid, like a cold fire chariot or a hot ice sword, I will give you a warning. Persistant stupidity will lead to divine retribution in the form of a thunderbolt to your characters head. There, that is the versatility sorted. Is everyone happy now?

Dungeoneering Again
Thus far, nobody has shown any enthusiasm at all about working together, so that's a bit of a non statement.
