  1. Because instant travel is overpowered! If we can warp people across vast distances, what is the point of spacecraft.
  2. Mather, we will never be using stargates. Just give up on them.
  3. I'm going to create 3 stations per turn in Eos, and the rest of my points are going towards creating my new ships, and other ships as well.
  4. Well, my railguns use very sophisticated bracing techniques, which absorb the recoil and use it to feed more shots into the gun. Grim, railguns have a heck-ton of recoil. If a human tried to fire the one which is being tested by the US navy in real life, it would snap him in half and send both him and the gun flying for several dozen metres.
  5. Ditch anyone who isn't useful and/or essential to your survival. If somebody breaks their leg, leave them with a gun and one bullet. Numbness is the path to survival during a zombie apocalypse.
  6. Doom, why don't you create it with a central core with all of the firing systems and such, and then four directional "Rails" so it has a better ability to fire instead of only being able to hit things directily in front of it.
  7. Understood. 45 or so years for the big project.
  8. Awww, it would've been funny. So, how many years do we have for the project in Eos?
  9. Curse your mod powers.
  10. Or, you could try muttering the word "****" to the Urk-Orz. You never know what might happen. (Yes, I know where thats from.)
  11. New stations now being manufactured at a rate of 2 per turn, giving me an extra 500 PP per turn. Nanohost ships will be finished soon, and will be utility ships with few real weapons of their own, but instead carry all three varieties of nanite. They'll be worth 11,000 points, but carry a modifier which affects the entire fleet. They'll also cost me 2000 PP. All new ships and structures will be built using strange Tantalum. The project at Eos is no longer on hold, and will continue in full swing, with me and Archi working on it, instead of just Archi, as it was for the last few days. The rule still stands that anything entering the system will be blown up without any questions. Cannibalisation of the two tiny planets in Sega-Res will continue as normal.
  12. Archi, would you advise I also produce my new buildings, ships and structures from Strange Elements as well? And would you like my help with all of the strange matter research you do, or do you want to keep this seperate. I'm creating a new project, labelled Krypt. ETA is 30 years. Construction of 16 large, 2500 PP construction units is beggining in Sega-Res, to be finished in around 20 years at the cost of 60 trillion.
  13. Dusty, you need to stick to the production points rate. a 300% increase is a little much, unless you weren't using your entire capacity before. Maybe if you want to go ahead and spend an extra 150% per ship in exchange for a 75% point boost or something. I'd also like to hire production stations if anybody has any spare. I'd be willing to pay 1t per production station per year, up to 20 production stations. They'll be producing more production stations, so no worries about battleships and such for now.
  14. Look, plasma windows are not an invincible shield. Once you activate a ship-wide plasma window, none of your weapons would be able to fire either, unless they were outside the shield, in which case they can be destroyed. Plus, the amount of power it would take to cover an entire ship is even more insane, and for the sake of fairness, I'd say that if your ships were ever going to go into full shield mode and become basically invincible, almost all the other non-essential functions would need to be cut off. Once again, that is for the sake of fairness, because having invincible ships which can still use a warp drive to run away or control the thousands of drone weapons you apparently have, is not really fair. Construction of space probes is finished, 25 probes with returning engines dispatched, 2 new construction yards finished this year, blah, blah.
  15. Rolled, we got Tungsten  Also, yeah, I see what you're saying, but thinking about it, entire planet being destroyed here. Plus, I'll still have nowhere near the amount I need for the project I had planned for it. Not to mention the planet devouring is going to take a few decades anyway.
  16. Oh yeah, and can we still use matter compilers at a 1:10 material ratio? - I feed 10 tons of material in, I get 1 ton of material of my choice. Is that allowed? Archi, I'll use auto returns.
  17. Probes cost 100 billion, correct? I'd like to construct 25 of them and launch them all off in the direction northwest from Sega-Res. Also, I have 7250 Production points per turn, which is all going towards building more stations My new ship design will basically be a large orb, with millions of Nanites in its bays and construction units to produce more nanites. The nanites can perform three functions - Scavenging materials from destroyed ships, which are stored in a holding bay Weapon jammer/Armour eaters are basically designed to wreck enemy ship systems. And finally, mesh shield nanites, which are by far the most abundant, and swarm around the ships. If a projectile is detected, they will all lock together to form a shell in the path of the oncoming projectiles. The destroyed nanites are recycled by the scavenging nanites afterwards. The new metal, Sekronium, not only has an incredibly high melting point, but it is totally clear, more like a crystal than a metal, and it has very, very few imperfections. It will be used in my ARC lasers, hopefully increasing overall heat and energy output by 15%. Archi, with Sere helping with the strange elements, should we reduce it to 5 days per element? If so, I think we have another element today.
  18. I doubt a plasma window would be able to stop a railgun shot unless it was powered by a few hundered nuclear reactors. True, it can reach the viscosity to stop a bullet, but getting it to that viscosity in the area around a ship? That would take absurd amounts of power.
  19. I know, I just get annoyed when people use "The future" as an excuse for having new tech.
  20. Yes, because as soon as we get to the "Future", all research is instantly sped up a million times. You only get the stuff you research, it doesn't matter if it's in development today or not. Okay, I've forgotten a lot of stuff during our short intermission, so can somebody give me the production station figures and point rates. Also, my warfare nanotech is finished, as is my new metal. It will be called Sekronium, and I'll reveal the details later. It's designed for use in my ARC cannons, so you can probably guess what it does anyway  The Nanites will be a continuous project, and I will be constantly improving them, and I'm also going to be designing a new ship which is designed as a utility. I think after upgrading my ships with the new additions, they'll really be hard to take out.
  21. So Mather, how would the PEPs work when there is no matter to hit? Like in the vacuum of space? Legitimate question, not trying to be patronising or anything. (Also, just read my latest NewScientist magezine, they're actually going to be building an interstellar craft powered by a black hole. It's in early design ideas, but it looks promising.)
  22. Don't PEPs work by creating plasma, and fail in the vacuum of space?
  23. I thought the point of this material was to cause fighting? Everyone just flexes their muscles and then they get left alone... As for me, I'm going to ignore this silly element and continue cannibalizing plants to fuel my projects and such. Once I'm satisfied that Sega-Res is an undefeatable fortress of a system, I'll begin the next phase of my plans.
  24. I'm leaving for a few hours, otherwise I'd go on the channel as well.
  25. I do believe my brain just severed itself in two. What the hell is going on? I'm so confused...
