There isn't a lack of officers, we have, quite literally, been using the system you proposed a few minutes ago for about 10 sessions. Stop needlessly tinkering with the ranking system. I'll be promoting a new third officer next session. Previous behavior shall be the main factor.

Believe it or not, I'm an engineer too, but captain duties take away my ability to focus on that. And Nex, everyone already follows that. The commander and three officers are above, everyone else is equal unless stated otherwise. We've had that system since... The second session, I believe?

Having an absolute ranking system will promote discontent, because let's face it, being ranked last in anything sucks.

It's more or less arranged in that order already, albeit without the gaping holes that come with having a seperate commander for each ship and then an absolute fleet commander. That's not how it works. The acting captain takes control of the best ship and then appoints a captain for the next ship. He will be both captain of the flagship and in charge of the subcaptains as well. Basically, the "Unity captain" position does not exist, as the commadore makes that role redundant. PS. When we have the ability to manufacture our own ships, further ranking changes will be made, as it will likely be two people per ship.

You will pay out of pocket or labour if the ship gets blown up, since you insist on doing it without any precautions.

Minecraft General
303s version. I've checked the forum, and I didn't find any help there either. I'm completely clueless as to why it isn't working.

Minecraft General
I have tried. The META-INF folder is deleted every time, every mod has been singled out on a fresh install at least 3 times, all combinations of modss have been tested, and I get nothing. I log in, I see the loading screen flash for a second, and then black. With every single mod.

You will do no such thing. We will take all necessary procedures, including, but not limited to bomb proof glass, repeated sterilisation, through both heat and radiation, vacuum sealing, and turrets. Knowing Jen, it'll be anthrax or some sort of stupid explosive.

Minecraft General
I'd really like to be able to use the controllerbloc mod, but Minecraft does not want to cooperate and gives me a black screen if I try to use ANY mod right now. Anybody else had this problem, and if so, do you have a fix?

You understand the choice here, correct? It's eather metagaming, or playing properly. I'm not denying either one yet, just trying to get everyones thoughts on the matter. If we give the Saber to Jen, it would be metagaming to a fairly large measure, and I don't like metagaming if I can avoid it. If we do not, it isn't really entirely fair, and I don't like not being fair either. The "If I can't have it, no one can" option will NOT be taken, and you should feel bad for thinking it. It would also be metagaming. PS. The package will be opened from behind sterile, bomb proof, one way looking glass.

The Space Diaries
That's kind of what I was talking about. I'm not too good with cryptograms. I could do it, but it would take me far too long to be worthwhile, so I propose that we keep it spoilered until an hour or so before the next session, and then release the deciphered version. Is that acceptable? -Jeremiah

The Space Diaries
Could those who are good at cryptograms and are on the crew please assist those of us that aren't by not hiding information which could concievably save money, time, and efficiency? It's rather annoying when every single diary entry is encrypted for no reason whatsoever, and can be a tad frustrating when a certain temporary captain needs to keep track of what's going on and is unable to due to the lack of information flow and knowledge of puzzles. -First Officer Jeremiah

The Back Room
Not an fps man. I prefer RPGs, both western and japanese, and RTS games of most varieties. Turn based strategy is my favorite though. And Dwarf Fortress, since that's a genre unto itself.

The Back Room
Contemplating whether or not to buy Guild Wars or just wait for Guild Wars 2.

Costs a lot of resources which we don't have, though, Nex. Wait, how is it recoil-less? Does the equal and opposite principal not apply, because I'm pretty sure firing out 20 metal spikes with power enough to penetrate a tanks armour would give you some pretty bloody serious recoil :???:

Excellent, simulations must be run and tests must be conducted. I'll go ahead and name it the planet buster, providing it is successful. Will provide us with leverage during negotiations, to say the least.

Actually, that reminds me. I had an interesting little idea earlier... Archi, if one were to assemble a decent sized bomb, with a generator within, and a null space array around it... Then dropped it on a planet, would it not just eat its way to the core and then cause the planet to implode?
-
Space
Waste of resources. Listen, do you know what's in between stars? Nothing. A whole lot of nothing. That thing grows by eating energy, right? So we're more or less safe for the time being, assuming this analysis is correct.

Earth, it's the size of a system. That's unimaginably big. Even if we converted both our ships into one giant EMP/bomb, we would be able to scratch maybe 0.000000001% of it, at best. We are staying away from it until we know what we're up against.
-
Space
No, it MIGHT have disabled the field. All we know is that we picked up extremely faint signal before the EMP was destroyed.
- Space
-
Space
Expensive as hell, and we have no idea if it will even do any damage or not.
-
Space
Earth, this isn't the kind of enemy which can be destroyed by brute force. As it has already demonstrated, it will absorb any wavelength of EM radiation, and it will absotb and be unnaffected by our weaponry. Conventional tactics don't work on eldritch horrors.

So, what is our next course of action?

The Space Diaries
Well, having successfully (And by that I mean completely accidentily) released a cosmic horror from it's slumber, we have lost contact with the Arch system. The reason for this is that it has been completely devoured. Although the EMP result was interesting. Faint transmissions, huh? Maybe everything is still alive inside the thing. Who knows. Not that I want to know, of course, because right now, escaping seems like the best idea. We should report this back home, in case said cosmic horror decides it wants dessert. Although explaining this is going to be a [bleep]. "Oh hey, Earth, we established our first alien contact, then set an extradimensional monster from beyond the folds of time to devour them." Yeah, I'm sure they'll be fine with that, right? -Second officer and acting captain, Jeremiah
