Well, you know what I mean. Love of country and all that.

I already made the null grenade, which has a fixed radius of complete annihilation. Basically, a black hole, which is what the gravity grenade would do anyway.

Political marriage seems sensible, don't really want the two nations fighting. And that's going to be a bloody long tapestry.

    Perfect for ramming speed.

I'll take that deal, Archi. As king of Britain, the first thing I do is to supply villages and forts with aforementioned grain and whiskey, while promoting patriotism. Mandatory combat training as well as the longbow training is now in effect, and the previous structure of noble families is reformed, with the families of the best warriors taking positions of power. In accordance to this, the round table will be reinstated, with a council of the 100 strongest knights to guide the knigdom in a democratic fashion. This also means that people all over the country will be training in swordsmanship constantly in the hopes of being able to beat a noble. In addition to this the idea of female warriors is gently ushered into the masses of the country, to give even more soldiers. Large scale mining and quarry operations are approved, to create resources for fortifications, and at least one high quality weapon per family. Refining of the metalworking industry is underway, and will hopefully provide steel, better quality bronze and iron, and other useful metals after a period of time. Forts and walls are to be set up on the Southern and Eastern coasts of Britain, with an abundance of catapults in place to ward off ships. Work also begins on creating new, creative way to fight using different types of rock, metal, and liquid. A project is also created to find a new, easier to use method of fighting at a distance. tl;dr. Patriotism is induced through a combination of more food, and more booze. Everyone in the country is now training because they want positions of power. This includes women. The round table has a major say in how the country proceeds (Icu, you'll probably need to act as the knights, because I can't really advise myself) More mining is being done. Metalworking is being improved. Don't exactly know, I suppose you'll have to tell me if anybody has a breakthrough, but I'll go with the crowd and say 40 for steel. A wall is being built around the southern coast. In 5 sections. Each section will take 10 years. Crossbows are being worked on. 15 years Winches, levers and the like, in addition to the above, 5 years. Experiments are being run on different elements and chemicals. Oils in particular. Estimated 20 years (basically looking for more flammable substances, things which could be useful, etc.)

No Nex, the null space array isn't the shielding on the edge suit, since it requires a lot of power to use, and suit generators can't really handle it. Although if we added a null space array to the nose of the ship, ramming speed would just destroy everything we hit.

Oh yeah, guys, by the by, I think it'd be a good idea to fit a null array on the ship hull. I designed it a couple sessions ago, and it's pretty much the ultimate shield. Nothing passes it, at all. I figure that we could put it around the engines, sensors, and anything else which gets damaged a lot, while leaving a space for weapons to fire. We might need better power generators first though. Another idea was a null space grenade, but tests on that proved inconclusive.

I think it would be cool mounted to a tank. Speaking of which, we should probably make tanks of some kind at some point.
  9. Arguing for arguings sake is one of the best ways to learn. Although if it turns into a contest of who can slam their face into the others the hardest, then something went wrong somewhere.
  10. Seraphi replied to archimage_a's topic in Falador Tavern
And how much do these things cost to make, how heavy are they, and how many shots can be fired without being recharged? Instantly lethal voltage and current isn't exactly low, and if you have to carry around a backpack to use it, I don't see it being viable.
  11. Look, we're just repeating the same argument to each other over and over, the equivilent to two brick walls falling towards each other. Neither one is ever going to fall, so I'll reiterate for a final time and then leave it at that. I personally think that if you dropped a firearm, be it a rifle, shotgun, revolver, or rocket launcher, into a medieval persons home, they would be able to work out what it does using that good old fashioned human logic, deductive ability, and comfort reflex. They pick up the device, not necessarily pointing the barrel immediately to their face, which you seem to be assuming would happen, and then they fiddle with it until their grasp on it is comfortable. Their grasp is only comfortable when they hold it in the proper fashion, due to it being shaped in such a way that if you hold it in any other way, it's going to be jabbing you or you wont be able to grip it properly. They then start messing around with it, and eventually work out that the little pointy thing makes it explode. From the hole in their window, they work out that something must be coming out of the tube, and try to fire it again. They obviosuly don't point it at their face because they know something comes out of the end. Instead, they point it at a vase. The vase shatters, and in the remnants they find a small metal capsule. Through basic logic they work out that this capsule must be what came out of the end of the gun. See? You're assuming that they'll always point it towards themselves, but if they've never seen it before, they're just as likely to point it at the ground or the sky.

It's still experimental, I don't think I'm happy revealing it yet on the grounds that it may destroy us all. Also, the blitz array seems kind of wasteful. Didn't you get it down to something like 2kT per shot?
  13. I completely get that fact, actually. I understand where you're coming from with this argument, but I still believe the human deductive ability is sufficient to allow them to comprehend which part does the killing and which part is supposed to be held. Take a sword, for instance. If somebody who has never been introduced to a sword before came across one, he would probably be able to work out which part does the killing. Guns may be slightly more complicated, but the principle is the same.

Not entirely sure I'll play yet, but I probably will. Britannia.
  15. Nah, what takes less effort, bending your wrist around the gun while staring intently at it, or rotating the gun? Honestly, if we're talking about a revolver here, I'm fairly sure that a 10 year old could work out which part does the killing and which part is supposed to be grasped.
  16. No, they don't know it's dangerous, but they know it feels pretty awkward to hold, so they readjust their grip. Or, the vast majority readjust their grip, and a few unfortunate individuals shoot themselves in the face.
  17. Yes, and while I admit it is possible, I think the vast majority of people woul probably think "Errr, this doesn't seem right" and then adjust their grip until it feels comfortable.
  18. Perhaps, but I think there's probably a better chance they would end up firing it away from them as they adjust their grip to stop it feeling awkward.
  19. The bit with the tube and hole in the end. I would think that would be the most obvious part, since unless you're holding it incredibly awkward, and likely painfully, you can't actually shoot the wrong way at all.
  20. Nah, the gun is designed so that somebody who has never seen one before in their life would probably be able to use it. You can just tell that one part is the handle, and you have a good chance of guessing that that little thing there is the firing mechanism.
  21. Hex, isn't that signature a little excessive?

Bear in mind this is only in place while we're low on resources. You can expect to see an increase in these numbers as we gain more room to invest.

Okay, new protocol. Equipment is not allowed off of the ship unless tamper guards have been installed.
