  1. I've also been playing RS from nearly the beginning and have never had a black mark. Honestly, it is very difficult to get them, if you behave yourself. Over the years I have been "reported" (or at least that was what I was told) many, many times. These were obviously wbm's as I still have no black marks. The type of wbm's I particulalry hate are those that try to trick you into breaking the rules. I had one the other day accusing me of having bought my account. He thought theat because I was fighting Basilisks with a dlong at combat level 120+ (don't laugh - it my business how I play the game!!), had no level 99 skills and couldn't remember the name of the quest that gave the helm of Neitiznot was evidence that I had bought the account. He even said that I could PM him to admit it!! talk about a lure :wall: ). Needless to say I didn't and quickly added him to my ignore list. On the reporting side - yes I do report rule breakers, but I don't advertise the fact. If I see someone breaking the rules I will point it out to them first, however if they carry one they do get reported.
  2. The screen showing you paddling the canoe has been removed.
  3. Thats not proof of manipulation, it is one of the limits set on the GE, ie you can only buy a maximum of 25k runes every 4 hours. And before you rant any further these limits are one of the things put into place to stop THE PLAYERS (namely merchanters) manipulating the prices.
  4. Perhaps the ex-Pkers will stop whining now and stop flaming those of us who like skilling, but then agan perhaps not :wall: However, I will be waiting in anticipation of continued whining when the upgrade does not impress everyone :wall: The proposed upgrade seems to be a mixture of the old RSC Pking system and the RS2 Wildy Pking. If it follows the same ideas as RSC then the safe spots will probably be within the walls of the cities.
  5. If you do enough clues the rewards even out. As I mentioned before I have been keeping a record of my clue rewards and from 57 lev 3 clues, my average reward has been worth around 121k, which IMO is quite decent. Just doing 1 or 2 and saying the rewards are rubbish is like killing 10 dragons and complaining of not getting a visage.
  6. I have been keeping records of my clue rewards for quite a while now. From this I can say that they are not getting worse. However, I have got spells of bad luck, for example for 20 level 3 clues in a row I got nothing better than rune items (one even had no monetary value at all, just a load of firelighters :wall: ). Immediately following that I had a run of 5 clues which gave me, 2 prayer book pages, Sara bracers, Zammy bracers, Zammy kiteshield, Zammy helm and two heraldic rune helms.  . Hwever, I have yet to get any 3rd Age items :wall: So, all I can say is keep trying and you may get a good run like above - its all a matter of luck.
  7. No. The good time to buy them would have been 18th June. However, that depends on you having a time machine
  8. If the other guilds are anything to go bt it will be pretty hopeless and have no real effect on runecrafting. Based on other Guilds all you will probably get is another teleport to the essence mines and a shop selling items relevent to runecrafting, ie things like binding necklaces, tiaras and perhaps some of the lower level talismen, but I doubt that there will be a rune shop as runes are the result of runcrafting, not an aid to it. Oh.. and probably the RC mini-game. If anything the RC mini-game has the potential of having a greater effect on rune prices. This will be especially the case if it greatly increase the rate at which you can get RC experiance. The greater the rate of experiance gain the more people will get the levels to craft the higher runes, this in turn would mean more of the higher runes being crafted and hence a drop in price (you could end up with the state where the supply of, say, nats greatly exceeds the demand).
  9. IRL I am one of the most sarcastic people you will ever meet. However, in RS I hardly ever use sarcasm. The simple reason being wanna-be mods who cannot understand when you are being sarcastic and take everything you say at face value.
  10. Only the death RS would make me quit permanently. I do get bored from time to time and find other games to play for a while, but I always come back as I have yet to find another game that holds my interest as much as RS. It has so much to do - skilling, quests, mini-games, monster hunting......

    No More Limit

Pointless rant. The limit will always remain in order to stop RWT. :wall: If you don't want to pay 125gp for a cowhide then go kill cows yourself :wall:
  12. This is a question that has puzzled me ever since the GE was released. An example of what I mean is harpoons. Today I was raising my summoning by making Ibis pouches. Now these require harpoons as a secondary item, so to collect enough I did a few trips from Catherby bank to the Catherby fishing shop and bought 200 harpoons at 5gp each. This took me about 5 minutes. I then made my pouches and had about 20 left over. Now I didn't want to alch these as it would be a waste of Nats as I would only get about 3 gp for each. So rather than drop them I decided to sell them on the GE. To my surprise I found that the lowest GE price for these is 59gp and I thought to myself that they would never sell at that price, let alone the maximum price. Anyway I put them on the GE and as they did not sell immediately I went off started a farming run. After about 5 mins I got the message saying that one of my items in the GE had been sold. On my next visit to the bank I checked and found, to my surprise that someone had bought my harpoons at 60gp each. Hence my question - why would anyone pay 12 times the value of such a common, cheap, easily obtained, everyday item? Note - harpoons are not the only example.
  13. Why don't YOU do something about it. The game belongs to us, the players, as much as it does to Jagex, after all it is us who keep the game going. All you need to do is get a few friends (ie. form a vigilante squad) and harrass these people and kill the rwt recipients. I'm sure that if you get enough people and do this then you can drastically reduce the the number of RWT transactions using this method, and perhaps even make this method unattractive to the RWT companies. Just think it could be as much fun as killing Green Dragon bots in the "old" days.
  14. Jagex will be the first to admit that the updates did not (and could not) eliminate RWT completely. What they did do was make it much more difficult to do so that the majoritory would give up and move to another game where it is much easier to RWT Yes, you are quite right about the Google search. However, I challenge you to visit these sites and find out how many are still active, or how many are just hacking, scamming or even worse sites set up to capture your PC to use in bot-nets. If you do take this challenge I suggest that you make sure that your anti-virus protection is set to the highest protection possible. How do you know that Jagex are not doing something already in the background? I am sure that they would not publish what they are doing to prevent people finding a way around their solution. After all would drug enforcement agencies, for example, reveal all their methods for with that problem. Without going to the extremes you suggest they could :- Have systems to flag up IP changes. For example if an account was used for 5 hours from a UK then immediately for another 5 hours from the US it would be obvious that something illegal was going on, unless someone has invented the teleport  Have systems that flag up accounts that are used for extremely long periods of time, say 12 hours straight. There are probably lots of other methods, but I am too tired to come up with them Once these accounts have been flagged by the systems then Jagex could investigate each one and take action, ie. ban the accounts, if they felt that rules were being broken. Anything like the above would effectively kill RS as these activities are what the majoritory of Runescapers do (and what the game is designed around). Despite what you think the game has never evolved around PKing, etc. (at the most only about 10% of players ever Pked, etc.). I can't see that they can. I would love you to justify this statement. Yes, (despite what I said above) probably a lot of people will. Not everyone spends hours per day playing RS some play the game called "Real Life" in their "spare" time.
  15. Yes but they have given good proof of Dragon Platebody, so it's a "ONE-TIME" chance... Chances are high to earn good proffit from it  I had a hunch telling me to buy santas hats: i went and ordered 7 for lowest..... HUNCH= SAntasuit+ Santahat= price rise I could earn over 20M if i did do so and buy em at Max price.... But i didnt :wall: Off-topic - I'm waiting for all the whining when Jagex makes it so you can't wear a current Santa hat with with the Xmas reward    \ \  On-topic - probably not, for most of the reasons already mentioned.
  16. Actually it seems that you have the attitude on thr Old School players. The old RSC players come from a time when the game was much smaller and the community was much more friendly. It is this "friendliness" that most of these players miss. Also, a lot of the really old school players (those at the very start) really helped in the development of the game we know today as Andrew and Paul were often online asking poeples opinions of the game and the direction that they should take it. They could do that back then, but today there are just too many people in the game. As far as RSC graphics are concerned. It is obvious that you are not old enough to remember what game graphics were like when RSC started (they were ALL actually pretty rubbish by todays standard). When RSC started it was at the cutting edge of technology and was unique for an MMORPG as most of these types of games on the internet were old style MUDs, which I doubt you have even come across.
  17. ALL skills are dependant in some form or another to each other - thats the way the game is designed. Have you folks only just realised this :wall:
  18. Why would you want to? Since the GE World 2 is not that important for trading anyway.
  19. Would you give your "friend" your bank PIN number? :wall: I suggest that you have words with your "friend" - he could be playing a joke with you. Plus, technically you are both breaking the account sharing rule :wall:
  20. Problem could also be due to lag - I get the same problems in crowded areas (especially the random walking). Just don't click too quickly - give the application time to react.

    Why even play?

Most of these people are just ranting on the chance that Jagex will say "Oh Dear, XXXXX is quitting, perhaps we should bring back PKing just for him" :wall:
  22. So, you won't make a quick buck :wall:  Just remember the value of rares, just like shares on the stock market, can go down as well as up. Keep it for the next increase in prices. It will happen, just be patient.
  23. Firstly, if Jagex have put in place all the correct security measures into place on their database then "hacking" their database would be extremely difficult. Note I said extremely difficult, not impossible. It would take a lot of expertise and time to do and would not be worthwhile for an account or two. If some one were to hack into the Jagex database it would be for a much more malicious purpose, like delete all accounts, but then again Jagex will have backups. Basically what I am implying here is that outside the game hacking is not really a threat - the threat comes from inside "hacking" Secondly, as far as I am concerned the account security is good enough IF YOU FOLLOW THE RULES (specifically rules 3, 6 12 and 13). If you don't want to read the rules then do the Stronghold of Security which will give you all the information you need. However, if people want more security the following password rules could be set : Don't use anything personal as a password, eg your own name, pet name, date of birth etc. Don't use your RS username as a password Avoid common passwords like "password", "welcome" etc (including all derivations like "p455w0rd") Must be at least 8 characters Must be alpha-numeric characters only (ie. no spaces, /, ?, etc) Must contain at least 1 alpha and 1 numeric character Must contain at least 1 capital letter Must not have two consecutive characters the same Forced password change on a regular basis (eg monthly) Unable to use the same password twice over a set period (eg 1 year) These rules (I think I have got them all  ) are the industry standard for user accounts and are implemented worldwide. It would be relatively easy for Jagex to do (except the first one).. However, this would not prevent the idiotic RS player who breaks the rules on accout access and giving out their password to a "friend" and then complains of being hacked. If you want to go even further down the security line you could have passwords randomly generated on login and sent to the e-mail address registered to the account. This would mean every time you logged in you would have to wait for a password to be generated, even if you lost connection for a second. This is very annoying, and I don't think we want to go this far. However, this would make the accounts more "idiot" proof as the "hacker" would also need access to the RS player's e-mail. Just to add, I started playing RS about 6 months before RS beta came out and, in all this time, have NEVER been hacked, simply because I follow basic password protection rules. One final thing. If you do find that your RS account has been "hacked", interrogate your brother/sister, real life friends and RS "friends" BEFORE you start whining to Jagex as in 99.9% of cases one of these will be the culprit.
  24. Quote from above "We had not thought that money would be changing hands for the lending of items". I cannot believe that Jagex are so naive (or out of touch with their customer base) to believe this, but obviously they are :wall:
