  1. Almost a quarter into the year.. dang time goes fast. When I first read the BTS for 2009, I was excited for the upgrade year. But so far, I haven't been pleased. These upgrades are useful, but they are also small & being released too slowly. I understand that that programming & all the other work put into it is time consuming, but this year has been a joke compared to others. I still enjoy the game, but unless Jagex keeps pouring more fun into the game, I might relinquish the supply...
  2. The new dance emote doesn't work.. nobody gives me phr33 munnyz anymore... While this isn't really needed, I'd still like to see it happening. +1
  3. I like the idea of a 'universal' minigame, it has a very Fable-ish appeal to me. Would it serve more as a Distraction & Diversion or a minigame? Also, think of it from a players* point of view; Say the Witch asks for a herb, players aren't too keen to go out of there way to retrieve, let's say, a lantadyme. Perhaps instead adding an anonymous herb garden** a short distance away from the Witch, to still keep the element of the game alive without it losing its' appeal. *players in general, people's opinions may vary. **anonymous herb garden with the SOLE PURPOSE of providing herbs to give to the Witch (ensuring players don't abuse it for free herbs). Those are just my opinions. Other than that, this idea has a lot of potential.
  4. Back when I was a lower level I was pretty self-sufficient, but now I just rely on the Grand Exchange to do my dirty work for me. But then again, most of the skills I train now are the gathering or un-buyable skills, so I don't spend a lot on resources.
  5. Different coloured Jellys have different examine texts. Different sized Turoths have different examine texts. EDIT: Sorry for bumping, I was unaware of V2. :S
  6. Ah, this makes me feel nostalgic. I remember back when all the buildings in-game were given the greyish texture, & every second person was a scammer. ;) You showed the 'J Mod' though.
  7. This could qualify for a guide. Thanks for putting this up, really good facts.
  8. WASD movement please. Graphics are overrated, but I still can't wait to see MechScape's terrain & scenery. Four races.. awesome. :D Hopefully it doesn't end up like WoW though, were members of the opposite faction are constantly having a go at each other. I wonder how they'll counter grinding though.. Only time will tell.
  9. #-o Ha, I'm an idiot. Should've thought of that before I asked. Thanks guys.
  10. When using a Leaf-bladed Sword against Turoths, is it better to use Lunge (Stab) or Slash (Slash) when training strength? I've noticed most people using Lunge, but I can not make out which style is most efficient. Thanks. :)
  11. That happened to me, only I had 15hp on that occassion. \
  12. Kudos to the person that submitted that Did You Know... fact. Rest of the articles were pretty... uninteresting for me.
  13. Nice guide, I found the Locations section exceptionally helpful.
  14. Just out of curiosity, does anybody here actually play Lord of the Rings Online?
  15. [hide=Economic Principal, not necessarily correct.]Some principals I learned in Commerce, though I'm not sure if it applies to RuneScape as effectively. Assuming weapons more powerful than the ones we have now are released, Jagex have to release stronger monsters to compensate for them, or the economy could be affected dramatically. Eg. Fictional 3rd Age 2H (90 Attack/Strength req.) capable of hitting constant 50's would effectively allow you to kill most bosses in roughly 12 hits SOLO if you consider the monsters defence & hitting less frequently as well. It's a huge chain reaction. Due to faster kills, which in turn require the player to use less resources (potions, food, etc.) which theoretically allows them to 'camp' at the boss for longer periods, increasing their drops, but also lowering the price of the said drops. When an item becomes cheaper & is available to a wider player range, you can naturally expect prices to drop a little more until it stabilizes. More players purchase the newly affordable item, obviously leading to more players using it, making it more 'common'. When the item becomes more common, players can use it instead of their usual equipment (eg. Lvl 90 uses a newly affordable Armadyl Godsword in place of an Abbysal Whip during a slayer task). Since the new Ultimate Weapon has made the boss monsters easier to kill, it is going to be killed a lot more, & that produces more drops. Everything moves down a level; what was once: Lvl 100 > Godsword Lvl 90 > Whip Lvl 80 > Dragon Scimitar Is now: Lvl 100 > (fictional)3rd Age 2H Lvl 90 > Godsword (cheaper price) Lvl 80 > Whip (cheaper price) There are alot of flaws with this concept, but it is just a principal. Many variables can affect it plus my limited knowledge of the RuneScape economy & other systems can also dramatically change it. I don't claim that this principal is 'correct', it's just my sum of knowledge.[/hide] PvP wise, no. It's almost possible for higher leveled players to kill others in very few hits. A new weapon might allow them to do it in one.
  16. I don't see how it can be right, but then again I don't see how it can be wrong. If somebody has the ability & resources to do it, & nothing is stopping them, they can go full steam ahead. It will have a negative impact on some players, but can also be an advantage to others. I wouldn't call it an 'honest' profit, but in reality, there is no cheating involved (in a sense).
  17. Darrak. \ It sounds like Dharok, so I'm happy. As for TzHaar, I'm Ket.
  18. Time for me to start posting on your thread then.
  19. Mine is Dardor, pretty cool if you ask me Awesome. Thanks for the link. Going to let this die now, considering a_local_guy already made a thread like this & I know for sure how the names are generated now.
  20. A few minutes I'll never get back. Nothing very appealing.
  21. Skiller outfits. Even worse, people who call them 'hawt'. Something about that ticks me off.
  22. Nice videos. I can see they took a long time to make, judging by all the synchronization between the acting & the audio. Very nice job. Add an epic super battle in the next trailer.
