  1. Haha Brokencyde are goofy [bleep]ers. The Pineapple Thief - Different World
  2. OP has quite clearly never been drunk in his life.
  3. Kinda catchy, but yeah, they blow. Not as bad as Brokencyde though.
  4. In addition to trombone, other brass and percussion, I play this: and this: Although the Pacifica is nowhere near the sound I like, the Telecaster is absolutely spot on.
  5. Groove metal is simply mid-tempo metal with thrash riffs that use low tunings, such as Meshuggah and Machine Head.
  6. I realised that I need to buy some more CDs, so I ordered: I'm from Barcelona - Let Me Introduce My Friends Suburban Kids with Biblical Names - #3 Sigur Rós - Agaetis Byrjun, Takk..., Med sud i eyrum vid spilum endalaust Porcupine Tree - Stars Die: The Delerium Years, In Absentia Architecture in Helsinki - In Case We Die (£19!!) among probably a few others that I forgot. Should be coming in Friday or next Monday.
  7. Kalmah haha I have a metalhead. I never really know what to recommend seeing as most of them listen to the same metal as I do. You could try Cult of Luna though. Not really metal, but highly emotional and inspiring.
  8. I am known as the cute intellectual who listens to indie pop and Sigur Rós.
  9. It's fun to read through this and see how much musical trends have changed over the years. Architecture in Helsinki - It'5!
  10. Actually, nowadays a lot of people don't consider SOAD in the nu-metal genre considering how there is no rapping (a couple hip-hop beats now and then). Well this is the first I've heard about it. SoaD (as much as I dislike them) don't really fit the general consensus for a nu-metal band. They're more like hard rock with overly political and outspoken lyrics. Oh, and BYOB is the most annoying song ever. Nadril: Bathory Cyco: Slayer
  11. Listening to loud music at loud volumes = goodbye high frequencies.
  12. I love that album so much. One of the first rock records I listened to. Porcupine Tree - Hatesong
  13. Heh I'm listening to Bon Iver too. Bon Iver - Lump Sum
  14. Merzbow for all categories.
  15. ... What? Have you listened to any of their songs? Yes, I used to be a big fan of Undertow and Lateralus before I realised I was wasting my time on that "spiritually enlightening" garbage. 65daysofstatic - The Last Home Recording
  16. What is it with all the Tool fanatics on here anyway? Tool is horrendous. Cult of Luna - Owlwood
  17. When metal was forming in the late 1970's and early 1980's, a lot of bands used Satanic imagery. However, this is not so prevalent in the mainstream of metal these days. There are few truly Satanic metal bands in the underground; not the type of bands that would make any significant impact on the mainstream. Also, underground metal is largely horrible and I can't understand why people would subject themselves to such tripe other than for Internet "kvlt points" and e-peen. The more mainstream bands are successful because they're rewarding to listen to; but that goes without saying. My fascination with metal has waned though. I listen to a very small amount nowadays. Also, Marilyn Manson is not in the slightest way a metal band. The more you know.
  18. For budget Internet, it's pretty decent. My speeds have increased dramatically recently.
  19. Loveless remastered is out in a couple of weeks. No new material as far as I know, but I'm pretty [bleep]ing stoked for it.
  20. I use RateYourMusic for things like this. Hahaha.
