So, just as a quick post to compile stuff here so I remember it all. Don't be a [kitty] and just ask the girl for a coffee/out on a date. If unsure of relationship status clarify that first and don't be awkward about it. Small talk while on the date but keep it fun so that even if things don't work out all parties had a good time and there should be no hard feelings. Minor touching while on date to attempt to establish a baseline but don't make it awkward, light hand touching etc... Make plans for a second date/meet up by the end of the current established one if possible. Based on above. Get phone number if things go well and text person within the next 24 hours or at least touch base and make contact in some way in that time period. Other than think of the idea and write a disclosure (which was about the equivalent of a 2-3 page essay), I didn't put much work into it at all. Not to mention my company rightfully owns any intellectual property I thought of while I was employed there, and they paid me to work on it. They probably spent more than $100k alone paying fees and litigating the patent. Granted, as an individual I wouldn't pay that much but for me it was pretty much risk free money. Oh, not as bad as I thought. My thinking was that you developed the product and then had no rights to the finish. Not just thinking up the concept and stopping there.
