    Today...

They're not all bad, but they are mostly 30+ years old, and haven't always been taken care of, so there are issues that come with that. Everything but the Rebel and the V Star is parked for various reasons. It kind of feels like I'm making up for quality with quantity, since my bikes all have some issues, and I could have gotten a pretty nice modern bike for what I've put into the old rice buckets. Sometimes I almost wish I'd gone that route instead. Much of my riding is around town/commuting, and a light, agile bike with good brakes and the ability to take off quickly from a stop seems ideal for that... but we also take semi-regular trips to visit her family (60 miles), my family (160 miles), and her family's cabin (200 miles), or just spending a day riding around. Since I have issues with joint pain on a good day, comfortable seating position is a must. On the freeway, it's nice to have a little weight to avoid being blown around by trucks or stiff breezes. I keep revisiting buying a nice injected rocket, but I'm not sure that I really want to. I can service carburetors, but have no experience with EFI. Also, My Nighthawk is the closest to a sports bike I've actually ridden, so I'm not sure how comfortable I would be on one. I think I'm going to really like the Goldwing if I ever finish cleaning it up. It feels bigger than the Nighthawk (~430lbs), but it also feels much more capable than I had imagined it would. It handles remarkably well for such a big/heavy bike; better than the V Star. It might not be as zippy as the Nighthawk, but it's no slouch either. I certainly can't speak for everyone, but my father has bad back pain not really joint though. And he finds the ST1100/ european pan am quite comfortable to ride. Thar being said I know goldwing riders and they like it. It really is just finding what is comfortable for you. So far I've been lucky in that I'm 2 for 2 on that front.

Nice collection of bikes there. Sound logic on all purchases of course. I certainly don't have near the collection you do, but I have a nice 2005 Suzuki GS500 which is beautiful although not quite the style of bike you have. That being said I could possibly be persuaded to kill for that number of bikes and space for them...

Nyoshut, what do you have for bikes and why so many?
  4. Yeah, that short text style is probably why I always feel weird sending long texts that get a lot done in one message. It can be evective, but usually I find it just annoying because people take forever to respond or make it an AIM conversation as RPG mentioned.

Well, winterpeg has been known to get quite cold :P
  6. Opposite here. I usually prefer a quick phone call over a drawn out text conversation for most things. With a phone call I can know what, when, who in like 2 minutes instead of like a half hour of texting.
  7. Granted, except it is a wasted wish as there is already a permanent bonfire in Prif. I wish that I had a free ride scholarship to a school of my choice anywhere.
  8. Saq, Pull her hair, lick her elbow, and hold her hand or something like that. If I remember the discussion from some time ago.

I'm sure you would need proof of a job, but you don't have to preapply for a visa. You just go to the border with the right paperwork and declare your intent. That sounds like the TN visa, but that's only for business purposes as far as I know.I'm not sure. I emailed the consulate in regards to a student visa and they replied that as a Canadian we do not need a visa to cross the border, just necessary paperwork. I can guarantee this in regards to student visa. Not positive if work visas go this way but I couldn't really find anything on work visas.

Or not. Apparently Canadians are so close to being Americans that we don't need Visas to study or work in the US and just need the appropriate paper work ready and to declare your intent at the border. Just in case anyone here needs to know.
  15. Granted, Clark Kent the unsuspecting farmer from Iowa becomes the next president. Unfortunately he knows nothing of politics and gets booted out quickly. I wish that my car had a self filling fuel tank that did so at no cost.

Hmm, so no I half want to study abroad. Except for the fact that doing so could be supper complicated as the program I am interested in would have me working a full-time job in addition to my schooling which could make visas a bit of a pain. Along with the fact that it would cost me ~29k USD a year, or ~40k CAD a year not counting any income or scholarships. Also, having to write an SAT would be annoying alongside testing costs. Also, this whole planning for universities thing is a bit of an annoyance when you are on the fence about things.
  17. Granted, you wish for a wish but that wish is a fish, who's wish is to fish for a wish fish. I wish for a free university education at an institute of choice.
  18. Granted, except some megalomaniac that can't handle knowing everyone in the world is celebrating you assassinates you. From tomorrow onwards it becomes a world day of mourning. I wish that my will power was greater.

take a driving course, you can get them as cheap as $300Seconded, my driving course more or less prepared me for the drivers test alone, along with allowing me to test in their car. Otherwise look for a friend that trusts you and is willing to give up some time to allow you to practice if needed.
  20. Umm, sorry but if I do remember correctly...*queue music* "its not gay, if its in a three way"

Yeah, of the internet hasn't lied to me many places in Europe actually include a server's fee into the cost of your meal, basically tip. Only issue is that Americans and those with a tipping culture have ruined this somewhat so that they now expect a tip on top of thst. (Listening to CBC radio has paid off! :P) Basically for items with a special tax (alcohol, tabacco and gas) if it is run the same way as in Nova Scotia the special tax for these items is usually included in the price although sales tax may not. Along with that, if it is similar to Nova Scotia, any items deemed "essentials" don't have sales tax. Meaning that most groceries and food don't have tax applied, although that is more sketchy as some things such as candy and chips don't fall under it. Writing this out has made me realise how complicated they have made the tax culture.

Not meaning to offend by the comment I had made. I understand what you are used to especially with the explanation provided. I just find that growing up here I tend to tip in such a way (bill is 8.75 so hand a 10 and walk away). At the same time it isn't required except at restruants where it is expected and some people will be really rude If you don't.

Yeah, actually most people would have just given him the 10 and left. Different tipping cultures I guess.

Out on a nice motorcycle trip today. Riding the Cabot trail in Cape Breton. Beautiful scenery, great roads, only issue is that it is rolling mountains up and down which ruins the corners due to the gradient. Regardless entirely beautiful.

Today I got a good fitting balmoral and my rank officially marking me as trained. Loving life at this exact moment.
