  1. That's what we call a Range Tank my friend. :P It owns very well. In fact, there is a rant in the forums about how "overpowered" they are. Silly me, I forgot  yeah, i would say those would beat pure def pures, seeing as they can hit. I can't believe I forgot what it was called :wall: and great guide
  2. Um, you don't need to finish Rune mysteries to do runecrafting. My pure has 5 rc and I still never never gave the wizard whatshisname the air talsiman... : so yeah, you don't need to finish rune mysteries, and i think i got it to level 5 by making runes, not sure, i might start a new acc and try to see
  3. I totally agree with you. It depends on which skill you are choosing. Slayer takes a long time, and there is no way to speed it up, besides killing the monsters that give 5k slayer xp, and even then, they are few and only give it once, which still means it won't make slayer faster to train. Cooking and fletching are both cheap and easy to get (I don't like fletching, which is obvious from my level of 60. and my cooking is 70) some skills are big fat money holes, like construction, although it does have many cool features, and extremely useful ones as well. On the other hand, the quest cape is harder in a different way. It gets constant new updates, meaning that your quest cape will not be wearable forever once you get it, as a new quest will come out within the next month. Also, it requires you to train skills you would not have trained normally, and to some high levels (65 herblore and farming is decently high, considering that herblore is relatively slow and expensive, and farming is the same, except you can go do what you want while the plant grows) Overall, I say the quest cape is harder to get, as some quests require decent levels in skills you may not train to those levels (65 herblore and farming for me) and I htink the quest cape will be trimmable (is that a word lol) when the achievement diary cape is released, most likely once there are 8-10 diaries. we currently have Varrock, karmaja, falador, lumbridge, Fremmy, and this month Serrs village, which means 6 after seers comes out. so as I said, I vote for quest, as it gets constant updates, and it requires training some lesser used or trained skills by quite a few people to be reasonably higher leveled. I will say that some skills (slayer and summoning) are probably as hard in some ways, but because of the constant updates of quests, the Quest cape will be harder and harder to obtain. and sorry i got of track every now and then up above lol
  4. In f2p, you can't pk with just def, so what do you think is best? I personally like a range/def pure. Train range with long range, so you get equal xp in range and def. seems to me like it would be more effective, as you would be able to tank, yet hit hard (at 99 range and def). tell me what you think though, as it would probably get around 60-80 combat... but it would still be a semi-def pure right?
  5. Not sure if any has said this, but the max prayer is +48. the explorer's ring gives +2, and the Fally shield 3 gives Plus 7 (if its 8, the max is 49 then). good job though.
  6. Good idea : . No, its most definitely NOT a good ideal :shame:  ITS THE SINGLE GREATEST IDEAL EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!! =D> wish I could have an extra member account. I suppose you could use this for the same thing for a range/summoning pure? or Mage/summoning pure? get a familiar that use range not named giant chinchompa (its self destructs for like 2 damage...c  ) or mage attack familiar, and train like that? ok, not mage, its got enough was to train, but that would work for range pures in a way right? and great guide
  7. Great guide if I have not yet said so. 10/10 perfect score blah blah blah  I am gonna use the plant pot method. If I calculated right, well... I will have calculated right. Seriously though, a few math porblems were wrong, as in chicken made 1 gp more than brid meat, yet you still chose the rigth method, is thats unimportant. another thing, your guide is funny so it keeps people entertained, add more and add to the funny as well \ and unique guide. I only wish i knew of these methods, and only myself, because as you said, I AM GREEDY!!!!!!!
  8. Forget about training at PC. If I calculated it right using Tip.it's combat level clac, and I calculated the hp level you would get at what defense level, even with 70 defense and 58 hp, you would still be barely level 32.... if even that. still, if you get 40 cb this way, then get 99. if your crazy enough to do this though, and your at 40 cb, just get 99. anyways, great guide. if it wasnt for the time needed for a defense pure, I would do it. and grats on 50 def. even if you do something else while doing it, it still takes so long lol. GL in the future. oh and you can use bandos top/bottom at 65 defense.... but they would not increase your max hit so they would just be wasting money.
  9. 287 But the comment about my melee stats vs. slayer level - That's another thing I'm sick of. I choose to get far better XP and drops using methods other then slayer; why does that matter to you? The fact that you were dumb enough to waste 100s of hours training slayer disgusts me. (Sarcastic irony, by the way... I realize that some people enjoy training slayer, and like I said I have no problem with that. I just don't like them saying that it is the best way to train combat) The same argument could be used for anything - to see someone with your stats only having 70 cooking, it disgusts me. The thing is that a hard skill(hard being it takes a while) like slayer commands some respect. Cooking on the other hand can be trained insanely easily. If you have 76 slayer with 99 melees, it just shows you stayed in a spot and clicked your pots. Hell, you even said zombie monkeys requires "zero attention". I don't think parking at zombie monkeys, opening up another screen and watching family guy is worth anything. ARE YOU INSANE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :o I don't think parking at zombie monkeys, opening up another screen and watching family guy is worth anything. That, sir, is pure stupidity. Since when does watching family guy worth nothing???? (I won't argue about the rest, the rest is worth nothing) Btw, I jsut felt I had to do this, I love Family Guy \ OT:I won't argue that slayer gets appalling xp rates for melee/hp/range/prayer. The prayer xp, surprisingly, is worse then the slayer xp (yep, something gets even less xp than near 0 xp :wall: ) I've heard level 111's saying they get only 18k per hour for slayer xp (not combat :P). Slayer IS a good way to train combat, but it takes longer. For money, its ok. Abby demons are 300k per hour, getting a whip 1 out of every 4-5 hrs. Spiritual Mages are ok for dragon boots drops (dunno drop rate). Dark beasts... I don't know, same as whip in drop rate but less profit? My point is, it is not a consistent source of money. True, runecrafting is "THE" greatest source of money, depending on your patience/determination, but if without wasting 500 hrs to get 91 or 99 rc, you can make an average 400k per hr with no skills, why would you bother with either skill? RC requires more attention then possibly any other skill (depending on what your doing). And yes, getting annoying task like 111 irons, 60 steels, and 14 mith drags in a row is extremely annoying, but that is what slayer is. I know some people love to train at fire giants, they are good xp, but I dislike them, especially as tasks. They give them out in large numbers, and for me, they take hours and are boring. My point is, slayer is to slow to train, and my slayer level may be only 63, but I want to train it in case some day, I am lucky enough to make millions from a rare drop.
  10. Simply put, no. The hundreds, and possibly thousands of hours I have spent playing this game on my account would mean a waste of so much time that starting anew again would be meaningless. Not to mention that would be a waste of like 200-300 dollars. Despite the facts that my account has more or less average stats (I see them as that, but still, im content with them), I would not go through with it again. Through and through, starting a new would take too long, and although rs was fun all the years I have played, it would not be worth starting over again. and they better refund me, or a certain Andrew will meet up with a friend of mine  (enter cruel words of hatred here) if my account was locked though, Id do whatever it takes to get it back (within reason of course  )
  11. I was gonna say that  seriously, I have no ideal how much time I have spent playing Runescape. Out of all that time, I would have to say 70% of it was worth it. the other 30% would be picking flax and wasting my time deciding what to do, just to end up doing something else after wards... Seeing as i started in... um. January, of 2005? might be 2006... and I spent a lot of time playing, possibly 5k-10k. This might be way off though. I don't have a set time that I play per day, and I don't play everyday. Although I have spent upwards of around 10 hrs in a single day (no, not for skilling, it was making money... 1.4m.... yeah not good I know :( ) so yeah, I would like to see it... and then by the time that number has doubled, I want to have gotten more time efficient
  12. Great guide. Truly a great guide. 10/10 and should be an AOW guide (if its not : ). Just one thing. Balls of wool do not sell for 98 gp each... they sell for 10 :o . Might wanna change it before an idiot buys like 10k+ of them and sells for almost nothing after a week  A few more updates and this guide will get 20/10 from me :P Loved it, and bookmarked :P
  13. ... In only 250 kills, you got 5 rune chains, a d stone, and all that other loot... with wealth or without, and was that really only 250 kills??? That seems like too much cash for 250 kills, and 113 crimson charms means they would have around 45% drop rate... guess im going there later (if that was truly 250 kills, and only 250 kills)
  14. not bad, I give you 7/10 for now. I never tanked avainsies, but I have used the pray method on them, still profiting madly with them. and if I remember correctly, I brought only a zammy item, and stayed outside the eyrie. I had no need for a saradomin item I believe, so may this has changed, but if it hasn't, barrows gloves would be better, although I did not have them when I went :wall:
  15. Ok, I did not know which one it belonged in. Sorry :wall:
  16. NEWS!!!! Pictures obtained, just need to upload them to imageshack... and that will take a while for me :( CURRENTLY INCOMPLETE. I STILL NEED TO DO THE FOLLOWING: GET NEW GE PRICING, THIS GUIDE WAS MEANT TO BE RELEASED IN LATE SEPTEMBER, BUT I STOPPED SO HENCE, IT NEEDS AN UPDATE. INVENTORY, JUST NOTICED IT WAS... LACKING :o SPELLCHECK... OK THATS EASY  MORE NEWS WHEN I THINK ABOUT IT!!! HAVE FUN READY V1.1 UNTIL I GET IT UPDATED! And if someone could make me a cool banner for a title and/or sig, though thats not anything major , but you'll be first in the credits when I make it. 1.@Introduction Hello and welcome to my first guide!! Hope you like it, and constructive criticism is appreciated! Prices mentioned in guide will not be updated (unless there is a new version of guide) OK about my RS life Main account:ss4goku264 (p2p atm) Main pure: rangebomb264 f2p (forever probably lol) playing rs for 2-3 years Why am I writing this guide? To help others players make ok money, this method would have worked for lower levels, but because of the summers end requirements, it doesnt (some lower levels who have very high level accounts may have enough experience to pass it, but by that point, different money making methods will work better, although this does train thieving while making a decent about of money (depending on level I estimate 40k-80k and more likely more, as well as depending on how focused you are, and on what jewelry you get from the chests) maybe more, but this method can train thieving as well as farming if you plant trees/herbs/fruits ect. While doing it, (snapdragons I have recently heard make up to about 1million per hour!) so this method will pay for a few seeds easily enough. You also get level 1 clue scrolls, which can make you more then 100k easily if you get lucky, and you usually get 1 or 2 clues that give that much or more out of every 8-10 clues, boosting profits, but do them at the end of a trip or when you just replanted your herbs, so that you will get extra money (2m in that same hour at max based on luck), but this has nothing to do with this guide, I am just throwing this out for you to make more money at once. ok enough talking, lets get to the main guide!!!! 2.@Table of Contents!!!! 1 Introduction (you already read this right?) 2 Table of Contents! (your reading it) 3 Requirements! 4 Recommendations! 5 Inventory! 6 How To Get There! 7 Why Go There??? 8 9 3.@Requirements!!!!!! 1. The Restless Ghost 2. Spirit of Summer 3. Summer's End 4. 40 Thieving 5. 23 Summoning 6. 23 Woodcutting 7. 35 Hunter 8. 45 Mining 9. 47 Firemaking 10. 55 Prayer 11. 40 Construction 12. 26 Farming These stats were for the 3 quests, except 40 thieving, which is for the ability to thieve from the chests in the secret underground room of the H.A.M HQ. 4.[hide=]Recommendations Not sure if you can bring summons in the underground area of H.A.M HQ so if someone can state yes or no that would help, thank you! Some of these will have a Pros and Cons section, followed by if I think it is worth using. 1. 60+ thieving (75+ thieving highly recommended, although I would think there would be better methods for making money with thieving by then, but you never know :twss:) 2. combat stats to get past those quests (I have only done the first one for now) 3. high hit points (60+ is fine, 80+ is better because you will need less food/ stay longer) 4. good beast of burden (pack yak is preferred, but as that requires an incredible level 96 summoning, the best you can get is good too [bull ant or spirit terrorbird, 500 gp max, so insanely cheap, better then pack yak based on price, but its up to you and your summoning level  ) 5. OPTIONAL!!!!!!! healing summon, if you can't get bunnyip (sp) use the level 23 rat (forgot name ) 6. Regan Bracelet (only 1m now, and doubles the hp you recover per minute, useful, but not necessary at all, especially if you are using a healing summon) *NEW* Now comes with combat stats, helpful for random events 7. Food (trouts are fine, salmon is more then enough and then tuna is the limit before you start killing your profits, sharks = no$$$$ :(lol ) use 10 Trouts (70 hp) 8 Salmons (72 hp) or 7-8 Tunas (70-80 hp) 8. Dream spell (79 magic, lunar magicks, requires lunar diplomacy and dream mentor) Pros: doubles hp recovery while sleeping, maxes 16 hp per minute with regan bracelet and hp recovery prayer, no need for food Cons: no home telly to lumbridge without with home tellytab which lowers profit unless you walk back to bank :/ not worth the time spent healing, although with regan bracelet and the double hp recovery spell, that's 16 per minute, but still doesn't beat out regular food, use if you dont mind buying Lumby tabs and Varrock tabs 9. Phoenix necklace never used, but sounds great, when you hp drops below 20%, it restores 30%! Bring 1 equipped and 1 in you inventory and if you have more then 80 hp, these are useful. Buying 2 may put a dent in your profits by up to 10k if you only make 40k per hour with this method. Price: 2,150-2,353 GP on GE as of 9/28/08 overall use if you dont have a fury, and will run from random events, or are strong enough to kill them before they hurt you too much. 10. boots of lightness/penace (sp) gloves/ spotted capes/spotier capes, the stuff that make you weigh less, not very helpful, as 100% run energy should be enough to get you from lumbridge kitchen to their hideout 11. H.A.M Clothing. Helpful or not, your opinion. I have heard they increase your chances of being successful while pickpocketing them, but i have also heard otherwise, use them or not, it can't hurt right? 12. Use gloves of silence, these increase your chances of being successful, so these work for sure.[/hide] Inventory! My usual setup when i did this before the Summer's End came out 1. lockpick (helps getting in, not necessary), 5-10 trouts/salmon/tuna (healing) Pizza (instead of the fishes, its 2 bites so quite useful, same with cakes but 3 bites), basically it. Equipped: Full HAM (not sure if it really helps) whip (fights of randoms), rune defender (defense boost/offense boost, other shields are good, bring your best if you want), ring of life (incase you are finishing trip when random sneaks up on you and gets you below 10 hp), gloves of silence (if HAM Doesn't work) glory/fury (defense boost) How To Get There! [hide=]Ok, I'm going to explain this in steps 1. Home telly/walk/teleport tab/portal teleport/die and respawn in/get a telly other to lumby on your/ect. to Lumbridge. Just get to Lumbridge! 2. Get you equipment! Gloves of silence or full H.A.M, fury/weapon/shield for randoms, food, summons (bobs or healers) and lockpick if you choose to bring one. 3. Walk to the general store and head west from there until you reach the dungeon point on the mini map (looks like old ruins in the over world view, and small ones at that). 4. Open the trapdoor and go inside, open the other door, go behind the huge stage, and look at the floor for a different looking surface and right click there. Choose open trapdoor and go down. 5. You are here!!!! Now was that hard???? I hope you say no, otherwise, go and train a lot more first!!!! 6. Once you got the desired amount of each 12 items (read next section after to know what these items are.) Go to Varrock. 7. Once you are there, look for the rouge you saved in the Summers end quest (if you have not done that quest, just alch anything worth alching (gets a good amount of free mage xp, but you loss out on the profits, natures as of 9/39/08 are[/hide] Why Go There????? Good Question! Why would we go there, well thats very simple enough to answer. We are going there for a few reasons. 1: get decent thieving xp (~40k per hour? I forgot maybe, 30k at the least, more if you are focused) but this is just a bonus! Not the main reason. 2: get good money!!! But what do these guards give that normal guards dont??? The answers are keys!! Bronze, Silver, Iron, and Steel keys!!! These are what will get us the most money. (they also give tons of junk but keep the pathetic coins you get, the chests and alchs get you more anyway (if you choose to alch) 3: These chests give out the following: All gold jewelry up do diamond but no bracelets. Gold rings/necklaces/amulets, sapphire rings/amulets/necklaces, ruby rings/necklaces/amulets, and diamond rings/necklaces/amulets 4. once you saved up a lot of these (once you get maybe 100 of each regular gold item, 60-70+ each sapphire items, 30-50 of each ruby items, and 15-30 of each diamond item, go to varrock, look for the rouge you saved in the Summers End quest (if you did it) and he will buy all your jewelry (that is unenchanted) for its high alch value (selling 1 or 1m of them doesnt lower the price you get,) which is why I made this guide, to teach people about this. He also buys it in noted form!!!!! (I did not discover this, but I found on tip.it forums lol) 5. This place will never get crowded for a few reason. It requires hard quests, decently high skill levels for better profits (in thieving, not many people even use it after DT, so not very high chance of getting crowded).
  17. Um, yes... you can get herb seeds from bird nests i believe... and either way, just get a mage tree seed then. each nest willget you 150k min i guess lol
  18. I would not worry too much about it. On my old laptop (which got stolen ), I forgot why but we got our friend who is a computer wiz to scan my comp. If you had counted the number of things it found, you would have been horrified. The scans took like 3-4 hrs so it was boring lol. and for some reason, whenever norton does a full system scan, there is always 1 cookie found. and guess what, it recommends ignoring it, but i try to fix it...then it says fixed (btw this one is rated 1/3 for threats, and says it wont do anything to my comp), another scan a week later, and a new cookie comes. I think its from rs tho lol, or youtube, but either way, it doesnt go away lol. anyway, i got of track and the point is, ignore them.
  19. Good to hear :) Hopefully that guy doesn't do it again and you remeber to leave valuables in bank before you log if possible. Always try to be safe my friend. That is what my friend does... does not stop him from getting hacked at all though , oh well i guess, but its partly his fault lol
  20. I think the guy can be traced. My friend got hacked, and he said if he had been with his dad, (as he knew who hacked him), he would have sent him so much (you fill in the blank \ ), and even hacked his comp,so I think tracing would not be a big problem... also, my browser states the website, does not block it. and how do you put in a link to ur guide (wrong thread, I know, but I forgot how lol
  21. Good thing I only go to the RSOF for skill guides  i hate these things btw, thanks for the warning, I would have been scammed as well.. if I even cared about zez \
  22. Yeah I know it taught me some stuff too that I can't remember #-o It's also a much better teacher than Type to Learn  ( -.- ) yes... I HATE TYPE TO LEARN!!!!! I had to use the third one... and omfg it was slow and horrible and plain stupid. Least I learned how to forge the dates lol stupid teacher never saw it coming . OT: yeah, tons of stuff, types of trees, and their value (cept magics of course lol), how to effectively set fires (not good in real life I guess lol), how to fish for lobsters, trout/salmon. and more things. Typing also being one of them I guess.
  23. never thought of those, I guess you could sue those (or only mage for insanely long yet huge profit lol) of course, I still do not know if it is legal or not :ohnoes: If it isnt, I will edit my post, so remember it while you can :P
  24. Just a tip I discovered a while ago for nests. Unless this was nerfed, there is a way to get only the herb seeds you want i.e ranarrs and snapdragons, although it is very time consuming. This also is not abusing a bug/glitch in the game (to my knowledge, as the seeds you get are randomly generated). what you do is get all the nests in which you see green seeds, (i forgot if all the seeds look green in the nests or not lol), and fill your inventory with them. You will need a spot fo your ranarr and snapdragon seeds though. if you know about thieving from master farmers, you know that if you get a type of seed that oyu don't have, you don't get the seed and it does not eve go on the floor, so this also works with them too (Although it is still as rare to get the seeds, this jsut makes sure you get those seeds and don't miss the chance). once you invent is set up, search the nests, if a message box saying you did do not have room in your invent or something similar, you did not get the seed you wanted. If no box showed up, you got the seed you wanted. this helps get the seeds you want, but it is still as rare to get the seed, and time consuming (might take like 10 minutes per seed), so this method does not make money, (it helps get the right seeds you want, but is time consuming). IF THIS METHOD IS ILLEGAL, I WILL REMOVE MY POST I AM ALSO NOT SURE IF THIS IS ABUSING A GLITCH OR BUG!! ALTHOUGH I DOUBT IT AS IT IS STILL RANDOM AND TAKES A LONG TIME (ONLY GOOD IF YOU CANT MAKE 120K PER HOUR IMO) ALSO BORING AS HELL ONCE AGAIN, THIS MAY ONLY BRING IN 120K PER HOUR (IF YOU GET ONE RANARR SEED EVERY 10 MINUTES, WHICH I THINK MAY BE TWICE AS LONG AS IT REALLY IS< ALTHOUGH I NEVER TRIED TO TEST THIS FOR RARITY!) IF SOMEONE SAYS THIS IS ABUSING A BUG/GLITCH, I WILL REMOVE MY POST!!!!!!!!!! sory for writing caps, i had to make that very important statement, PS> I NEVER TRIED THIS METHOD< AND I FOUND IT BY ACCIDENT. I ALSO HAD NO INTENT ON ABUSING THIS GLITCH AND DO NOT RECOMMEND DOING THIS. I HAVE WARNED YOU
  25. lol, i was going to [post that, but you beat me to it, and btw... I knew I should have bought a corrupt drag chain when they came out, would have made 700k from each by now
