  1. Spent an hour drawing logo along with grey circles and wording and then defending, and when I check in 30 minutes, it's all red and cyan. :(
  2. http://two.drawball.com/634ac25 Made a fairly perfect brown spot with 1500 ink. About to work on the grey circles Someone drew a Jew Star in teal and wrote 'LOL Romy' xD Edit: Fending off bandits for as long as possible .. got the Rune Tips written in and erasing (rather poorly, sorry for the horrid colours, I couldn't find the brown we use :S)
  3. 500% ink, ready to go .. :3 I haven't used it in a while.
  4. For those that are saying that Google is discriminating: isn't the government discriminating by saying that gay couple's can't get married?
  5. This. You were brought to Tennessee by the Holocaust?
  6. You should start biking there. That doesn't cost anything except the bike's initial cost.
  7. I never was particularily fond of patriotism and nationalism. All it is is land. Why get worked up over it? However, I can see how many enjoy the unity of saying "I am a member of x!" A lot of my family decides that, since they are Americans, they must love America to death, and believe that it cannot do wrong. That is my only hangup about patriotism - it occasionally leads a person to think that they are superior because they are from that country.
  8. No, it's about the money. It's always about the money. We're not going to get solar panels because the money it saves us will be less than the cost of the solar panels themselves. Where in the article does it say that? As far as I know it doesn't. What it seemed to me was that they're trying to cut energy usage. If they're willing to renovate buildings that would cost a lot to do so in the name of energy effeciency, wouldn't that imply that they're interested in energy-saving rather than money saving?
  9. Yes, there is wasting even if there was an infinite amount of energy (which, of course, is so very far from the truth). Pointless spending of resources just to get that tiniest bit of luxury is essentially wasting. Adding on to that, where are you getting the "infinite amount of energy"? As it stands, we are running on a very limited and very destructive fuel. Perhaps one day, the Earth will finely wisen up and take the millions upon millions of watts of energy that hits the sun and convert it into energy, instead of spending time, manpower, and the environment on drilling dead animals out of the crust of the Earth in the name of fuel. Additionally, your second sentence is pretty arrogant. Why is it that humans get to have luxury? Other animals have been here much longer than us, yet we are stealing from them by destroying their habitats and killing them for ourselves, only to use a marginal amount of their body - or none at all. How do we deserve that? And nice emotional appeal there. Right, because curbing excessive lifestyles is much akin to slavery and wage-slavery. Oh dear, you will not have the most beautiful, expensive house! What ever will you do? I know many people who would personally make that investment, including myself. If I keep those thousands of dollars, but there is nothing to use them on because the Earth has become a sludge of "life" due to us, what point is there in ever have having them? Nice flame there, pal. That's always the best way to persuade a person's opinion. No one is saying that society must be perfect. The bill simply wants to cut wasteful energy loss due to, well, ignorant civic planning. Where do you get the idea that "Oh dear, making effecient housing will completely destroy all human emotion and it's ability to display it!"?
  10. It's not about saving money. It's about saving energy.
  11. The president didn't even introduce the bill - a senator did. AFAIK the president didn't even endorse it. As well, any attempt by the president to "shut off" the internet would be met by instant outrage. The bill is essentially useless, as even if it passed, there seems to be an extremely marginal scenario where the president could use it without being met by domestic and world-wide protesting, etc. To the best of my knowledge, no president in the history of America has ever introduced a bill to the Congress while in office. It doesn't matter if he supports the bill; if its signed into law it makes the executive branch a bit more powerful. Doesn't matter if the current administration never uses it; it'll be there for every idiot in the future. Ah true, my knowledge of the US political system isn't as sharp as it used to be :P. My point however was that regardless of what happened, there really is no way the president could ever ennact that power.

  13. This was what I was talking about: http://www.allaboutcircuits.com/vol_1/index.html. Thanks anyways.
  14. Yeah, it's fairly ddead during the Aussie peaktimes. However, it's fine pretty much all around the rest of the world. I haven't even tried the new single player. I've been playing multiplayer for two months. I love being a crossbowman - you get to snipe at distances, giving you some method of firing back at archers and fleeting horsemen, while the sword + shield combo let's you fair well with other infantry. Also fun shooting 2handers in the gut when they think you've swapped to sword/shield.
  15. Mount & Blade: Warband. IE, multiplayer. Oh, yes, I did say it. Formation battle Sundays New game is 20-30 dollars, but the game is completely different. Xbows are much more effecient now, and .. just get it. It's way worth it. Edit: Xbow Volleying and Phalanx
  16. Could someone recommend a good electronics tutorial website? I've been trying to learn it, but my results have been poor. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
  17. No, because universe expansion just means all the matter is moving outward. Ever been to space? Not really much there. In fact, most of it's vaccuum, completely empty save for those little balls of matter than make up planets, stars, etc. So it's really more like blowing on a group of marbles than stretching silly putty; the marbles will expand outward, but they themselves don't expand, just the area they encompass. The universe isn't completely empty. There isn't a perfect vacuum (again, theoretically) anywhere in the universe. The second point is what I'm saying - the mass that they have isn't getting bigger, just the area it holds.
  18. I'd just like to point something out to everyone - the Big Bang theory states that the universe is expanding, but not that new matter is being created. Theoretically, all matter that exists has always been and will always be. In however many trillions of trillions of years, every object will be pulled to such a degree that no carbon-based life will be sustained. Just thought I'd input :)

  20. Indeed. Speaking of capturing lords, I changed the escape rates of defeated lords to 20%, so 80% of the time, I have the choice to capture them. So I'm playing as the Khergits, have level 270 archery, 11300 arrows (I modded the arrows .. I got like 2-3 kills total with only 30 arrows :/. Lame, but it works). I capture a nordic castle (The khergits aren't at war with them, but I am), and go about training people. I put my 2-3 lords in the garrison. Soon enough, a force of 600 nords come stampeding at me. 8-9 Lords - including the king. I defeat them with my meager 70 horse archers/lancers. I captured everyone of them :D So I had at least half ot the nord army, and went on to take Tihr (which almost everyone knows is extremely hard), 4 castles, and almost took Sargoth before a bug freed everyone of the captured Lords and then took my castle, and destroyed my army D:
  21. Well. I just broke up with my girlfriend of almost a year a little bit ago. She really, really, meant a lot to me, but this entire week she's just been mean and hateful. She does this all the time, too - for a month or two, she's nice, caring, but then out of nowhere just flips and is mean to me. And last night was really the tipping point. My friends and I were walking around her neighborhood. She was at a friends house passing out candy, but then went to some other guys house. I asked her to come along with us but she said no. Later they all decided to switch their minds and they wanted to come see us. Well, when I got to the group, I went up to her, poked her in the shoulder, smiled and said hey. She just turned to me, gives me the dirtiest look, and goes '...oh. hi...', just as if she hadn't ever known me. So I stood there for 2 or three minutes with her back to me, and afterwards went off flirting and laughing with the guy they were hanging out with. Later she said that she didn't do anything wrong, and that she was about to talk to me. Well, she had 3 minutes prior to that to talk to me and she didn't, so I felt really dumb. /story. I just felt like sharing. I feel relieved that it's over but I'm also really sad of course.
  22. Something no one's thought of to use as additional proof that the BBT is more valid than Genesis: Redshift. Nearly every heavenly body is expanding outward, caused by the dark energy (that was created by the BB), and the initial explosion itself. If the universe wern't expanding, then when reading spectral lines from various stars, they would stay where they are instead of shifting towards the red end of the spectrum.

This. That's mostly because the majority of the TIF community is white, I believe.
  24. Dear god I hate that song. I've heard it before too. It just gets under your skin. Usually I can handle stuff like that but I couldn't handle more than 20 seconds of it.
