I'm 22 and there was only one time I got some funny looks for playing. That was last year when I was working an extra job during spring break and the bosses son saw me playing on my laptop on my lunch break. He though it was weird someone "So old" played but then asked me all this advice on it. Other than that there was only one odd look from a co-worker when we were discussing the updates. :P But hey teens have always had it rough. Just point out it requires far less commitment then WoW or some other MMO's and is twice as much fun.

IDK I kind of understand your frustration but honestly it is just too common a phrase to get upset about. There is a quick chat option to ask the question, obviously it is a big question. It is the same as when you are farming and someone asks what you have planted. Now yeah there are people that just want someone to say a compliment to them to be honest I have used the tip it tool bar to check their WC before responding to see if they are just looking for that. I am WCing while I post this and I have had that asked only 3 times in the past 4 hours; it is the easiest conversation starter when it comes to a skill you have to grind at. Now as for people that try to "suggest" that you move to a better area they are just annoying. If they better understood the speed to lvl ratio they might be on something else too. Bu hey it is all part of the game. If you are that annoyed by it just don't respond. I have spent many a night fishing/woodcutting something that takes an eternity just to be building while I look through files and books for work and simply ignore by accident or design.

I guess I will try FM not much of a combat person so =\ combat is out of the picture beyond casual training.

I am still debating (took a break after I leveled to get Bones to Peaches... and remind myself why I did not get it sooner) So far it looks like I am leaning to FM or Fletching. Like I said I would most likely fish to 99 then buy the 99 cooking if I went that way... unless I decided to waste time and shark. :P Anyway please I need more ideas and votes on it all.

The few times I ever went to BH I saw RWT going on. Someone would go in with there expensive trimmed junk and stand around getting the snot beat out of them by some guy in a corner. Later I saw him "selling back" the armor his victim had lost... RWT exists in every game, it will always be a problem and I see why people are upset about these things that seem like a Bazooka for an ant but honestly if you are really that concerned with the longevity of BH against RWT then report them, do your part to help out the game. Of all the RWT that I have seen at least one of the idiots says something before, during, or after. You whine about the updates they are making to combat but you make no suggestion for a better system and you make no offer to help the problem with the current system. If you ask any long running Jagex employee about the wilderness most will say it broke them to remove it after so many years saying that it would always be (given this was because of the noobs that cried they were tricked there). When you show people you are doing your stinking part instead or just turning a blind eye then you have every right to go to any forum and cry like a [bleep]. Until then please do us all a favor and STFU

my problem is fishing and cooking go hand and hand in my eyes so to 99 1 I would 99 the other fairly quickly. I know FM is a harder skill to earn then people give it credit for but using the calculators it would require at least twice as many logs from what I will get WCing. I might go thieving but only if I can find something faster/more enjoyable then pyramid plunder. It's fun for a little while but it gets old too fast for me.

Hey all! Just wondering what my second 99 should be. Now I know if you look at my stats you will see no 99 just a Q-Cape but I have already planned to get WC to 99 since it has just been so good to me in the past. So what should my second 99 be? I am more concerned with the cape then anything oddly enough O_o I am leaning toward something that looks better trimmed then untrimmed. SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO should I store the logs for fletching? Mine.buy up some ess and RC? Let me know please.

Honestly if they dropped the floor then things would crash to 1 GP but as they crashed people would see them and start buying left and right. Willows for super cheep fletch and FM xp and fire runes for magic XP. As they are bought up by the skillers and inevitable merchants they will grow in price again to the stable area they are now.

I figured this out a few weeks ago when I accidentally synced my ToG with my circus visit and noticed the huge difference (seeing as it's the first thing I did on the 100k or 1qp req.) Also I have not tested it fully but I have been told if you pot (which makes the performances easier) you get the XP as if your boosted lvl was your normal (meaning if you Pot to 99 you get XP as if you were 99)

At this point we all know a Rollback will not happen. The bug has already stretched too far away. I was lucky enough to not have logged in until hours after the update. Still I would not have minded a rollback at the time but now the only way to please people is to cut the hours this happened during from the time line then copy over all the missing items into the current status... something no system has the capability to do. In any case... did anyone notice this? 2+2+5+9 = 18 6+6+6 = 18

Look I love my Rubber Chicken and my Yo-Yo they are somethings to remind me of when I played RS long ago before my 3 year retirement. Honestly You are trying to stir the waters more then anything. I can understand the want for the items but they are a sign that I have worked harder then the lvl 50 standing next to me with only a snow globe and a santa suit. Music is different, you can't "wield" music and even without the holiday themes you do not need them for the emote. No one would be satisfied with this because everyone invested differently. People spent millions upon millions for these items and honestly that was their right. You would have to go into every bank and search them out then pay out the GE value x3 or more because of how Junk Trading has crashed values. Look at it this way. Say you spent hours upon hours completing a complicated set of treasure trails, and each time you were lucky enough to grab two 3rd age items. Now what if you held them for a few days to make yourself feel as proud as you should be and give you the chance to show off should you want to. Then as you start to sell them Jagex announces that 3rd age will now be a prize for lvl 1 clues. The price crashes and now you have nothing more then some shiny, slightly difficult to get, armor. The bottom line is there is no way this will happen, no way it is viable, and is simply the same argument people that never worked or played when this was available. I was gone during the time of the Chicken Suit, do I wish I had it? Yes. Do I deserve it? Not in the least!

Once again, the CEO has nothing to do with ingame content (from what I understand). Anyways, the Wilderness changes and trade limits were planned before he entered the company I think. You can't say he has no effect, he decides general direction if nothing else and I was just tossing those out there more as a joke. In any case still we won't know if it was a financial thing until next fiscal year and if it was nothing related to money we may never know. Really though in most of these cases he either got a better job or he made a large set of blunders in a short period of time. Who know he could have caused (some how) the delay of MechScape.

This was a great post (one of few I read every reply to :P) I am just interested to see what the economic ripple caused by the US falling apart will do to their profits of the '08 - '09 season. In any case this is very interesting to see.

In all likelihood he probably pushed to have the Wilderness closed and they saw a sharp drop in membership profits that hasn't been revived completely by the reintroduction of PVP worlds so the board pressured him to make a graceful exit. Really though I have to agree with the idea of startups having different goals then established companies. Then again he might have been the one that set to prices for D plate and D claws... or be the one that pushed d plate to be a quest prize :P.

The only item that would be proper to fight a GS would be something that gives equal boosts to everything. And to anyone who doubts the power of Guthix over the other gods I have 1 simple thing to point out... A book of balance can enchant both Zammy and Sara symbols. Which means he has the power to out class them both and balances the power.

Honestly I think the updates are decent. I am almost certain that Jagex would make the Price Checker multi item, they state it can hold multiples of an item already... The quest organizer... ok that is a fail... tack that onto another update "we have released the 150th quest requiring 99 attack, 99 stregnth, 99 defence, and 99 hp... oh and you can also reorganize your quest list" Slayer minigame... ok this might be nice IF and only IF the rewards are Castle Wars or Fist of Guthix style. A plate that gives +10% exp per slay would not be to harsh on the skill, am I right? And a new D&D for farming... great I drove myself up here and now people will be leaping more easily... guess I should start using my stored magic seeds to grind up again =\

For the love of all that is right and holy why is this argument still going on? Look people ALL OF YOU! The fact is no one will concede defeat. If RS closes with no skill like sailing it will not matter because there will be no point in arguing it AT ALL. If the skill comes out, people will leave, people will ignore it, people will train it. Get over it. Now look at it from this side. I am not pro or con sailing I am just stating real facts. Any skill has some way that it touches on at least 2 other skills. Firemaking touches prayer and cooking. Slayer touches all 6 combat related skills. Wood cutting touches Firemaking and Fletching. Sailing can be one of the few super skills that touches on everything in it's own way, or a weak skill that will always need improvement but will still help 2+ other skills. To make the skill viable there would need to be a massive and I mean MASSIVE update. When HD came out the servers lurched. Don't tell me you don't remember that. The update would require a new map upgrade 5x or more the size to offer enough for people to truly want to use it. The download to your PC as well as every other person's would clog even more space and the servers would ALL require a hardware upgrade to support the massive data trucking through. Economically it would not be a good idea for the skill to come out any time soon simply due to the international recession caused by some of the bigger countries. In truth the only thing any of you should argue is why we don't need another skill release like summoning.

lol HP is the only skill no one can train or grind away on simply because it is the only skill with no way to do so :P.

I just wish they realized how bad we want the Kudos and Eastern lands lol. Someone start a post on the RSoF griping about how we need these... but make it super nooby!

If you go through Meeting History you will see the portal and people meeting the embodiment of Guthix. Now as for gnomes and monkeys being related I have no recollection of that... then again I did that quest when it came out lol. I guess at this point only the "lesser" creatures are native. (The ones that are not really part of anything.) Oddly enough I believe that most if not all of the lesser gods from the Menephite pantheon could be considered native since they were empowered and created by the greater gods.

Not sure if he was being serious or not but a few low level players turned back to the bank...

So far it seems everyone agrees the "lesser" animals might have been here when it all started or could have traveled with humans. We all also agree that Zammy or Zaros brought the Mime, Sandwich lady, MoM, and Molly. To the question how? It might not have been WGS but I remember from some history or another that Guthix FOUND the lands of Gielinor not created them. He nourished them back when the Kin were destroying things. It seems so far the TzHaar are the only thing that are native to Gielinor with little objection. The Dwarves are also a strong possibility as they pop up in different tribes all throughout the histories. As for the Dragon Kin if we see them as created by Jas to guard the stone then they could be considered native and it seems to lean that way for me. Going from that f the DragonKin created the Dragons then technically Dragons are native. Anyway thanks for going this far guys Lets keep it up! :P
