  1. If you have no problem lowering your social ranking, I have no problem making ridiculous assumptions. If you see this as me attempting to demean the authority you have, it isn't. I apologize if it appeared that way.
  2. This is why you shouldn't even contribute anything here. All you're doing is spouting bs and assumed truths. How can you even begin to argue that prayer should be used in pkign without ever even pking? Seriously, go back to fletching or whatever you skillers do nowadays. =D> You win the stupid award for October 14th, 2008! congratulations! If you bothered to actually read my post, you'd notice how I was reiterating on the fact that I noticed a large misconception with a majority of my posts. My posts were intended to adress deep wild pking, an area I am well versed in, as opposed to edge pking, where I have little to no experience*. * [hide=]( 7 edge fights on my main rounded account, 6 won, 1 kill, 1 loss. on my melee/range pure I had many more fights ~30, with a much better average, but still only about a 20% margin of actually getting a kill. The only difference between the two accounts, was my pure couldnt pray, only had enough for 10% strength modifier, where my main rounded account could pray. My information gives me the base to conclude that: regardless of what you do, very few people will play with "honor" and stay and die. praying is a non issue based on my data. HOWEVER: i dont have enough data to be concise in my conclusion.)[/hide] So, you pked in deep wildy, huh? Those green dragon autoers got you praying melee? Oh, I'm so sorry. I had no idea they were THAT tough. The way you go on about honor and needing to pray in fights left me with the impression that you actually fought people that had skill. Looks like I was totally wrong. I apologize for not bothering to read the whole blasphemous text, about how prayer is so epic. I'll have you know that my main account, when i last had members, has a fletching level of 60 flat. so go suck a big one you pompous fool if you assume I'm not knowledgeable in my area of discussion. I play how I feel, and I felt that deep wilderness absolutely trumped edge pking for fun and profit, that's my area of expertice, and thats what I discuss. Real mature. Opinions are opinions, you think I'm a "pompous fool who should suck a big one", that's nice. I'll keep my opinion of you to myself, I'm mature enough to keep my temper in check, for now. Good day to you sir.
  3. Hmm, some here that like slayer seems to be under the impression that it is necessary to max out in Runescape. Erm, no. Honestly, slayer isn't the only way to train combat. If anyone's opinion is that you HAVE to have a high slayer in relation to combat, than I say their opinion is blatantly narrow-minded, and it destroys any and all crediblity they have in my mind. Compfreak, you are slightly over-reacting about this, if it is just a SUGGESTION that they train combat via slayer, let it be. If they say slayer is the best way to train combat, then have a cow. Fun is relative. Slayer isn't fun for everyone.
  4. This is why you shouldn't even contribute anything here. All you're doing is spouting bs and assumed truths. How can you even begin to argue that prayer should be used in pkign without ever even pking? Seriously, go back to fletching or whatever you skillers do nowadays. My responses are in green To those of you telling people to "hybrid", stop thinking fist of guthix and clan wars provide a realistic example of how pking works. If you feel the need to bring rune (or barrows) and dragonhide with a bow and arrows to succed in FAIR 1V1 PKING Just know, I'll have fun looting your grave.
  5. When I talk about prayer I'm referring to protection from melee/range. Granted most players take 2 or 3 prayer potions to pk with, I'm sure you'll have enough to consistently pray throughout the fight even whilst using piety. The thing about armor is that it doesn't give a 50% damage reduction. Pray when you're getting piled, I don't care. Pray to save your [wagon], whatever. Pray continuously throughout the fight, go die in a hole.
  6. Exactly. Some of you people should actually get some experience before pking, instead of spouting the same " if you have it you can use it" argument. It's gotten really old, really fast. "Not everything that can be counted counts, and not everything that counts can be counted"-Albert Einstein. Just because you have paid the ungodly sum of maybe 1m and maybe 1.5 hours doesn't mean you should go around screaming to the world: "Hey everyone! Look I can pray in a fair 1v1 fight. I'm so cool, you should all bow down to my skiller turned wanna-be pker epicness!" Really now. Is it necessary? Now you say prayer is a tactic. I say that if both parties pray all you're doing is making the fight twice as long. :wall: Oh, but farcasting is a tactic, shouldn't you be hating on the mages by using their god-given freezing powers? No. I shouldn't. Range>mage. You're putting yourself totally vulnerable to deadly arrow barrages by farcasting. You're not prolonging the fight. You're making it laughably easy.
  7. Sapphire bracelets lose very little money and are fast enough at low levels.
  8. Untrue. If you have the level to pray, your opponent most likely does too. People whine about prayer because it's totally pointless in a 1v1 fight if you're relatively the same level. Prayer prolongs the fight and makes it totally boring. Just because you have the ability to do something doesn't mean you should do it.
  9. That's not certainly the case, I can say (without being a hypocrite to this topic, I don't really care when I started anyways) I've been playing since 2002 and my total is sub-1600. Am I pro yet? You're pro as long as you had fun.
  10. Prayer is perfectly acceptable in minigames where the whole point is to stay alive, like castle wars and fist of guthix. However, when you're pking, the whole point is to stay alive and loot the other person's items. If you're using a protection prayer, you're not using smite and you're not going to get the whip or whatever item they're protecting. If you're doing this, you're not pking, you're tanking hits from someone in the hopes that you might whittle their food away and they won't run. All prayer does is prolong a fight and allows the opponent to keep another item.
  11. People can make everything accompany elitism. Some people can't be bothered to make themselves elite and have to rely on petty things that don't matter except in idle conversation.
  12. 287 Thank you for having enough intelligence to see slayer isn't as godly as everyone makes it out to be. =D> I'm sick of people thinking slayer is a viable method for training efficiently. Why the hell do total levels matter? Do you think you gain respect from having a high total? You don't. Total levels don't matter! It's ideas like that that make me want to shut my head in a revolving door. Total levels are a means to see the cumulative amount of levels you have gained, not to say "hey I have [insert total level here] I'm better than all you noobs!!!!!" 99 crafting is expensive if you use dragonhide, which most sane people do. If you'd like to get 99 crafting from braclets or some other means be my guest. Exactly!
  13. Exactly. Runescape is a fantasy game. In regards to your character, you can do whatever the hell you want and it's no on else's business whatever that may be.
  14. Moral of the story: "Don't go to bandos." Bandos is mostly a cesspool of idiots all gathered in one convenient room. Go to zamorak. Last time I was there, about 3 weeks ago, the great majority of the people were mature and competent and it was less crowded.
  15. First off, why did you only have 65 hp left? If it was because you had no food you should have been praying melee all the time, your prayer gets restored when you leave anyway. Second, your special attack gets restored right after you leave the fighting area. This combined with the ridiculous rules of BH, makes pjing especially easy. But this could be done with any weapon, dds, d mace, even the anchor. This is not a problem with the weapon, it's a problem with the field it's used in. And lastly, don't make the generalization that you have to BH to fight ags'ers. I fight them a lot in clan wars and I get to see them fail in FoG, a somewhat more wilderness-ish pking environment, with only 2 specials.
  16. Which might not be such a bad thing.
  17. 2 decent looking minigames and an end to having to use the abomination of a minigame that is bounty hunter to dangerous pk. I just hope it's not all hype and there is actual good content behind it.
  18. Can you please elaborate on how this is better cash? because you have to include the cost of prayer potions into your profits which i don't thinks will be as much if tanking... ive heard this alot but no one has ever explained how this really works. Well, with the emerald bolts you poison multiple aviansies whilst attacking another. The poison wears down the other aviansies so you can kill other aviansies, while aviansies you aren't attacking are dieing, thus getting more kills and more bars. Rune knives allow for faster kills and if poisoned, can have the same effect as emerald bolts. Unless you have 90+ defence and a unicorn, prayer is necessary for these tactics to be effective.
  19. If you have your heart set on tanking, replace the Torag's with a blessed sara coif, the sara bracers for barrows gloves, and black d'hide legs. When you have a bunyip and even if you don't, you don't need a lot of ranged defence with 80+ defence. Also replace the super defence pots with excalibur, and the ring of wealth with an archer if you have it. Using prayer and emerald (e) bolts is much better cash, but if you want xp as well as cash use rune knifes instead of emerald (e) bolts. Both of those are better than tanking.
  20. More hate on the merchants. An interesting read nonetheless.
  21. Slayer is better for long term training (sort of). If you're just getting to 70 defence just power train it at bandits or zombie monkeys.
  22. Godswords are trash. They're incredibly over-rated and over-priced. The dds beats the ags in almost every case in terms of special attack. The bgs' special is nearly useless. The boss monsters have such high defence anyway it doesn't make a dent unless you hit 50+. The sgs is relatively useful. With 40 special attacks per hour, it can heal a minimum of (if you hit) 400 hp and 200 prayer points which is equivalent to 20 sharks and 8.3 doses of prayer potion (at 70 prayer) per hour. Which is not bad, but is only really useful if you don't have a bunyip or you're praying continuously for 2+ hours. The zgs is probably the most useful godsword there is, or at least the most useful to me. Frezzing against armadyl is a great asset in castlewars. It's a zamorak item which help for gwd. It can freeze people in FoG even if you are hunted. The reason I'm picking at their special attacks, is because without them, they are trash. They are slower than a whip, which means it takes longer to kill something when it's at low hp. More xp per hour is possible with a whip and whips are cheaper. In pvp I'd pick a whip and dds over an ags or anything else any day.
  23. I play Runescape for fun. I don't find skills fun. I don't do skills regularly. For me, it's as simple as that. I don't do things I don't like. Which is why my skills look like they do after nearly seven years. Goals constrict me and force me to do something. I prefer to choose what I want to do on the spot, not follow a planned routine.
  24. Its an achievment to get any cape as long as you like the skill. Absolutely correct. If you get a 99, any 99, it doesn't matter whether you get slayer, summoning, runecrafting, or any of the skills considered "hard" for a skillcape, you are a fool. Leveling skills was meant to be enjoyable. Not some stupid grindfest all for a cape.
  25. Magic imbune doesn't require you to empty your fishbowl, you can only do it once during acertain time period, and I think it gives more experience.
