  1. Achievement of the Year award? I mean hell, thats just pathetic. Clicking Expert? Dude you need to get laid. Jealous, are we?
  2. [hide=] Not a chance. Addy bolts out hit them. Addy bolts out hit obby rings too. My point was that they only hit 1 or 2 less than the rings, are just as fast , but cost half as much. How many hours have you tested this, exactly? I've had 70+ hours of ACCURATE testing. And by accurate I mean 'stopwatch and screenshots'. Not to be condescending or anything, but you do realize I've gotten more range XP at avansies alone then you have in your entire RS carrier? Sorry for coming across as an arrogant jerk, but it irritates me when people make irrational statements obviously not based on real world tests. Plus, my range level (and range level when testing, I've leveled from 78-98 almost exclusively at avansies\spirit mages) is much closer to his then yours, indicating that my results would be closer in terms of accuracy and hitting power. You notice that I never said that you will get X amount of experience in X amount of time, right? I simply stated that the hunter's crossbow could be an alternative to obby rings. Why must you be so closed minded about new suggestions that could provide a viable alternative? And honestly, it takes not even 5 shots of each weapon to determine the speed. I figured out the max hits from use in Fist of Guthix; for both of them they maxed about every 3rd hit. That's wonderful to know. Unfortunately, max hits don't quite represent the entire spectrum, and XP rates over 40 hours tend to be slightly more accurate then 'i used 5 shots in FOG and this ones max hit is higher so its better!' And FOG =\= Avansies. Test the monster, don't test somewhere that has almost nothing to do with Avansies. You can't even pot at FOG, and I doubt you carefully recorded rates with the standard 10% range boost and full void equipment set identical to the one used at avansies. [/hide] Like I said before, I simply stated that it could be a viable alternative; I never said that I had definitive proof that it was an awesome weapon that got 400k xp p/h. And also, not using ranged potions is simply taking out a variable. You're not at the same exact ranged level every second that you're potted, which could lead to skewed results. And whether or not I used the void wouldn't matter, it adds 10% to both of them if I used it; and if I didn't use it, I simply wouldn't have that 10%; it's the same ratio (this goes for 10% ranged as well). Lastly, the 5 shots was simply for speed, not power, and you notice I said that the obby rings hit higher, right?

  5. What about the hunter's crossbow? It's nearly as powerful and as fast as obby rings, but the bolts are cheaper (although it can take a few hours to buy them).
  6. Would I make more profit p/h using a fruit bat to forage, or a terrorbird/tortoise to carry extra logs whilst chopping eucalyptus's? Oh, and I'll see about getting some data on the morphic hatchet sometime in the next couple days.
  7. First off, a level 115 could never kill a 20 or a 50 in the wilderness. And thank you for caring so much about my social well-being. Your altruism touches me. Now tell me, how exactly was the old wildy only good for no-life? And since when is playing for a long time a negative label? Why shouldn't a level 115 be able to kill a level 20, 50, or 90? I can still easily kill those levels in Clan Wars, Castle Wars, and Fist of Guthix. So Jagex should remove those things too? Yes but when a Lv 115 kills a lv 20, 50, or 90 in Clan wars, Castle Wars, and Fist of Guthix the player that is dying does not lose anything. (Unless the person who is dying is a Mager/Ranger than he/she loses arrows/runes.) These are Safe Minigames for a reason... I realize that, but his point was that a level 115 should never be able to kill a level 20, 50, or 90. A level 20 or 50 would have nothing to fear from a level 115 in the wilderness, and any level 90 careless enough to get lured into 25+ wilderness deserves what's coming to them. Besides, you should be fully aware of the dangers of the wilderness before entering it. Ignorance of the rules is no excuse for not heeding them.

  9. I would have handled that much less diplomatically, but you're right. If you have no skillcape, you're a noob for "failing at the game". If you have an untrimmed skillcape, You're a noob "because you only have 1 99". And if you have a trimmed skillcape you're a noob because "your other 99 is cooking"; or "you're a nerd for having 2+ 99s".
  10. "You can have your 99 skills; I'd rather enjoy the game than try to impress people with my stupid pixel cape." Yup.
  11. Pretty much this. It doesn't matter that weapons are inaccurate and will oftentimes fail to hit even half their max; what does matter is that some weapons (ags, d claws, and d bow) can take about 75% of your hp at the maximum hp. That's frightening. Honestly, who cares about these new armors; the only thing armor and defence can do is reduce the accuracy of these weapons. These weapons are still capable of doing exorbitantly high amounts of damage. These special attacks, coupled with ice blitz, can easily kill even the strongest of warriors ignoring the bonuses of their mighty armor and super defence potion(if they don't brew) and if they fail to do that, you've got another special.
  12. An hour late... Oh well, happy new year to all of us PST'ers. And the rest of you.
  13. Fist of Guthix. Everything else was over-hyped and mediocre.
  14. I'd name my child Darth Vader.
  15. What ticks me off the most is when people say "barrow" instead of borrow. :wall: It's these blatant errors where you're not even close to the actual word that are the problem.
  16. Sadly, you are absolutely right.
  17. People fail so much at pking that they can't kill you at 50hp, so they flame you for it. :wall:
  18. We don't need anymore additions to the game that are going to be changed within a day because they weren't "balanced". Improve the old stuff and fix glitches. I honestly agree with you. The only thing that keeps me playing Runescape these days is my friends, and Funorb can hold my attention without any of them.
  19. My memories aren't for sale.
  20. Every "era" of Runescape has had a problem with its community. Some people are never contented. There have always been fools and idiots and there always will be. The earlier days (2001-2004) weren't all they're cracked up to be. It's progress. The longer something is out the more it is "tainted" by the plague of more people. That's not necessarily a bad thing. If you associate yourself with fools and idiots you're going to have a skewed perception of the community; there are always going to be people who can't stand losing, or people that hate you because you choose to train your character a certain way. That's a fact.
  21. Damn, I hate central California. Why can't it snow here!? -.-
  22. I enjoyed this. Especially when I could set my own price.
  23. Closer to 30,000 then, 2,000 now. Obviously made up numbers, like everything else on here, but probably pretty close. Player to player interaction isn't more important then prices. Why should the GE only be used for small items? Let me put it like this: I'm in varrock bank, wanting to buy an ahrim's robetop for PKing. I can: #1, walk up to the GE and buy it for a little under market price in a few seconds #2, hop to world 2, wander around trying to find someone to sell, finally find someone, haggle about a price for a while, and finally get it in 10 minutes or so It's exactly the same for the seller. The GE is the best update since RS2, even better then the graphics update (which ranks as #2. Anyone who's ever had a 1920X1200 17" laptop screen and tried to play 640-480 low detail knows the pain of squinting at the screen to read the words "armadyl godsword".) I would personally rather spend the 10 minutes to buy it from player than use the G.E., but since everyone uses the G.E. for dumping every item they get; I'm pretty much forced to waste an hour of my time, or just buy it off the G.E. Bleh, opinions...
  24. Yup, because there were 100,000 autoers/goldfarms then, and none now. Player to player interaction is much more important than any prices. The G.E. should be used to trade small, otherwise hard to get materials, not anything and everything. I would define skill as doing something that takes a great deal of effort, repeatability, and complexity. Tying your shoe for example, is repeatable, and might seem complex when you don't understand how to do it. When you learn something relatively difficult, those you associate with might find that it takes skill to do. However, when you move up in life, those arduous tasks turn into routine behavior. It's all relative, I guess. If you can do something someone else can only dream of doing, you are skilled in their eyes. But you think that it is a pretty easy task, you don't see it as skill, but rather as routine. Meh, I'm confused too #-o .
  25. are you kidding me? the updates in this last year have been far more meaningful and impact the game much more than updates before. Summoning, WGS, Smoking Kills, Minigames out the wazoo for this year.... Not to mention the dozen or so fixes they do every 2 weeks. Small, but they changed alot imo. Honestly I can't even think of a pre-dec. 10th update that affected me. That's your opinion. *Points out that at one time I saw a mod ban over 100 bots at the willows at Draynor on one world, and he said that the world wasn't that bad* About 120 worlds at the time i believe, 140k players on. 100*120= 12,000 =D> That's less than 130,000 people. Yeah, your point = dead. 120 worlds. 100 bots per worlds. 12,000 bots. 175,000-12,000=163,000. And don't forget that there are still bots/goldfarmers now. They might not be as apparent as the willow cutting bots, but there are still quite a few. Many people will use auto-alchers and the like, and you'll never notice it because you don't see them. You dont even get it. That was part of the game. There was RISK involved. You HAD to go to the wildy. Now, it is effortless to make millions of dollars with maybe a week of RC. The Revs are just not the same. There IS Risk in the Game Still: KBD, KQ, CE, Corp' Beast, Tormented Demons, God Wars, NEW PLAYER KILLING SERVERS. you cant honestly say theres no Risk when there is a risk in multiple places. Jagex are STILL humans, they CANNOT forfill all of our wishes but they are trying to improve the game as best as possible. if your unhappy, Quit and watch the game develop and join back when YOU personally enjoy it again. The fact is, there are no intelligent, persistent players to lure you and to pk you in any world where you step foot in the wilderness. Player-killing has been shoved aside to specific worlds and places, therefore making it hardly dangerous. [img=http://img377.imageshack.us/img377/1470/thedayrsdieddp8fv1cq2.png] Considering that ANYTHING in rs is clicking for "10 hours a day", you really have no comparison. [hide="Read if you say]I assume that you will say: Pking is better than skilling because it also requires skill. Let's look at that statement and its relevant terms: Pking uses much energy over long periods of time. This is due to an adrenaline rush caused by the risk aspect (forming the fight or flight response). Essentially, you are participating in high stress activity by player killing. Skilling does not use much adrenaline because you are not risking anything by stringing bows. Stringing bows or whatever skill the player is training is usually very monotonous and the occasional random event (~once per three hours) to divert his attention is actually looked forward to. Better: yes, we must define this term for clarification. Better means "superior". What are your criteria for being "better"? Well, you seemed to have answered that: "more skill". Skill: What is your criteria of skill? Is it a person who clicks less is the better/more skilled player? If that is the case, then the person who doesn't play Runescape at all is the better player. Then, maybe it is the one who gains the most with the fewest amount of clicks? Well, then we must assess "most". Most: I assume that the "most value" is the "best payoff". Well, if that is the case, then I dare say that skillers make more money than pkers. Note: "skillers" includes those who normal/slayer monster hunt as well as preform non-combat skills because they both give little if no adrenaline rush like pking. Why do you think that most bots and rwt were skillers? Monster hunting would be under the radar more and thus less "restarts". If you say that "most value" is the "most fun", then that is purely opinionated and changes with every person. Opinions cannot be disproved and therefore cannot be used in a logical argument. Therefore, the theoretical response "Pking is better than skilling because it requires more skill" is either false or unable to be argued[/hide] Skilling only requires to to click something once every 20 seconds or so. That does not take much effort or skill. Monster hunting is stupidly easy. Put on prayer and you're untouchable. Please, go Pk yourself. Then tell me it doesn't take skill. I'm sure that any old player can pull of perfect attack style switches and stop their opponent from reaching the safe zone. You're right. It takes no skill at all  . And really, what are you trying to say? Jagex is trying to take out risk? Jagex is trying to run itself into the ground? Considering that pvp worlds are MORE dangerous than the wild You must fully realize the dangers before you even set foot in a PvP world. There is no danger there. You're absolutely prepared. I don't believe that anyone is stupid enough to get lured into a PvP world and killed when they weren't there for pking. (since it includes wild levels AND normal 5 + 10% of level), Jagex must be trying to increase risk, or do you say that the pvp worlds were unintentional? If Jagex were trying to run itself into the ground, then they would have done so already by firing all of its employees, or do you think that Jagex is too stupid to realize this? Are you trying to say that Jagex is making the game worse? Then why not let the bots run rampant? They ruin the enjoyment of legitimate players and therefore make the game worse, or do you believe that causing malice upon new players is actually beneficial to the game as a whole? He's not saying that Runescape literally died. He's saying the enjoyment he got out of it died. There are many flaws in your arguments. If you are trying to say that runescape is dead, what do you mean by that? The game community is dead? You can look at activity charts to see that that statement is not true. That the previous community is dead? That is actually true. Of course, then that also means that the community ten months, six months, one month, two weeks, and yesterday are also dead. The community if full of pretentious bigots. I'd consider that to be worse than dead. If I have addressed none of your arguments and points, then please clarify.
