Just do what I do, range them and go do something else whle checking back for drops. Don't pick up anything for speed and stay there, got two tops in 5 minutes from that. Basically meleeing them is very slow, don't.

Without competition you could mine a lot; maybe 150? that's about 27 seconds per ore. EDIT: Thinking about this makes me think my estimate is a bit low... Maybe 1 ore per 15 seconds? You get some 4 second ones and some 20 seconds ones. Probaly 500ish.

Camelot, The barbarian village one and sea shanty are my favourites although I play castle wars when I'm do PvP.

For spiders bring fly fishing rod and feathers. A full inv of trout will last rough two doses of strength pot at 60ish defense which lasts for around 8-10k exp. Lesser are not "good". They're crowded from rangers in lower pit thing in karamaja, on crandor there's always 3 meeleers there. They hit harder and is slower respawn(there are less, there won't always be one when you kill another) and exp than spiders.
