What slayer tasks would you ever need this shield for? You have 88+ summoning...

What we percieve as "luck" is our instantaneous 4th dimensional observation of a cross-section of 5 dimensional space. If you want to start improving your luck, visualize yourself getting all of the things you want. You might just be lucky enough to move yourself across 5th dimensional spacetime and land yourself a 3a druid wreath instead of a dragon mask. Studies show that most people who would be considered "lucky" have been born with the ability to visualize themselves attaining what they want.

Do you have any idea what players who are benched DURING the game do during the rest of the week? Most of winning or losing a game will depend on what that team does to prepare for the game. The actual game itself is just playing out to see who prepared better. I mean theres some good luck/bad luck things that happen during the game...and some plays that rely on individual skill level. But for the most part, the performance of the team on game day is determined by how well their team practiced. Benched players are part of this.

You missed the damn point. There wouldn't be anything wrong if the SSH was only good for doing one very specific thing. But it is basically a manditory item for any teams that want to attain high exp rates. Regardless of role. Rapier is the best slayer weapon, okay. But what is the best weapon for killing Kree? What is the best weapon for killing waterfiends? What is the single best weapon for PvP? (CR is great for PvP, but spec weapons are also used) If CR was the best weapon for every single scenario (not just every melee scenario, not just every stab scenario, but EVERY monster and every mini game etc..) then yes, the weapon would be a bore. SSH in DG is pretty much the best bind for every player to obtain to achieve maximum DG exp. If it was only the best bind for melee, or if it was only the best bind for keyers...that would be a different story. Obviously there will always be a best bow, a best weapon, etc. But these are for certain roles. But it seems like every role in DG would pretty much love to have a SSH. Best wep for WFS is CM. Best wep for kree is CCBow. PvP, it depends on your stats, but for maxed players rune pking its generally the CR. PvP is different in that skill and luck play more a factor then simple DPS, unlike most other monsters. You seem to be confused as to "rolls" in DG. There are two roles, in good rushing teams: Keyer, and non-keyer. That is it. Keyer well keys. Non keyers do puzzle rooms, clear GDs, etc. Sure, you can bind a plate instead of a SSH, but unless no one else has one, you'll be clearing everything in a mime room, etc. Like I've said before, I don't see the problem with exclusivity. I also don't understand people with 57 DG to understand how DG *really* works, and how to do it well. I know I didn't until quite a higher level. SSH also relies on skill, between SS flashing, and managing prayers, and working together. If you can't do those, a plate helps more. Yeah I mean I don't really care either, because I don't play all that much anymore. I was just trying to highlight the difference between what the OP was claiming about how SSH affects DG versus how there is a "best" in other things in Runescape. I don't really care about the SSH it just seemed like people were making stupid comparisons to other things in RS. I would say this is a good comparison...I think it is pretty silly to know that everywhere you go, you will be wearing the dark gloves.

Okay, bro..here's the situation. There is a problem because the hood is the BEST ITEM in dungeoneering. It is the best for keyers, rushers, meleers, mages, etc. For your other binds, there are plenty of choices depending on which role you want to play. But for the most part, everyone would be wise in devoting one of their binds to the hood. Let's use your comparison to the rest of Runescape. You started listing off a bunch of different items which are all "the best". Well...heres the problem, you listed the best 1 handed melee weapon, the best mage necklace, etc. You listed nothing that is the single best equip slot in the game. For example, imagine I created an amulet that gave +100 to all defenses, +50 to all attack styles, +50% magic damage, 40 strength and 40 prayer. For the hell of it, lets say this amulet also let you talk to cats, ghosts, camels, and monkeys, AND it also gave you the effect of restoring 5 prayer points any time you buried a bone of any type. It is also tradeable, but you can get as many as you want from an NPC in Lumbridge who gives them out to everybody. It also has no level requirements to wear. There would never be any reason to wear an amulet that is NOT this amulet. Everyone would just have this ammy on at all times and the game would be super boring. This is the same problem that the SSH has: theres really no reason that you shouldn't bind it.

I'm just wondering what other MMORPGs you are talking about that give your character a more explicit opportunity to align with good or evil.

I'm really quite intrigued with the way that the Catholic church changes its ways to accomodate for modern rationale and scientific progress. TBH it is changing my whole idea of what a "religion" actually is, and is making me not really hate religion quite so much. Good job Catholics :thumbup:

Sooooo..... as best as I can tell from that post, you think the definition of efficiency is, er, playing the game? :mellow: :unsure: A rather dumb definition of efficient, because you can't be be INefficient according to those standards.... My point rather is that the concept of efficiency is a rather dumb concept. Everyone is trying to maximize their ability to do something in the limited time that they have. I don't think that someone who fishes sharks for money vs. doing GWD is necessarily an inefficient gamer, because maybe he just really values the time that he gets to spend in the fishing guild, chatting with his friends. Now...maybe an inefficient gamer would be someone who actually wants to have fun with the game but is not having fun because he chooses to only do things that most of the community deems "useful"

If you get bored, start a new character. It's what I do. Never gonna get sick of this game. There is just so much you can do and so many different ways to play. So much better than in games like WoW where everything is dead except for level 80 raids and BGs/arena at level 80.

I'm pretty sure we all try to play efficiently. We all have a limited ammount of game time and we would all like to accomplish what it is we would like to accomplish in that given time. Now...whether that means you are going to try to get 100k slay exp every 5 hours or you are going to try to sit around in a bank and chat with your friends for as much as you can in the 2 hours you have online...thats where the difference is. So yeah...you're all efficiency freaks in one way or another. So get over it.

TBH I think it is the addition of high level content. Back in the day, getting something up to even 85-90 was a really good level. And having something that high, or having a 99, usually meant that you didn't have any other really high skills. I mean, I remember when the number 1 ranked players were people who just had 80s in all stats....maybe a couple 99s. Now, with the addition of stuff like overloads, steel titan, etc, people are pressured to haul ass and get "good" levels. I remember when people would just get like level 30 in most skills, get 50s in a couple skills, and then do 1 or 2 skills that they really enjoyed and get those skills to 80 and beyond. Also, you had some real options when it came to making money. Especially when you look back to RSC. Whether you were fishing sharks, mining coal, collecting dragon bones, theiving, cutting logs....everything was roughly even. Nowadays, making money via combat is so obsecenely high that there is not even really a point to doing most skills aside from getting skill total.

Any reason you decided to abandon this? I could offer you tons of help and advice.

You have such an absurd paranoia with thread derailment. If you have something interesting to add, add it. We can't have a new thread for every idea. Discuss what flows naturally out of a topic. If you started talking about sports in this thread, I would say you derailed it. But talking about experience rates in a thread about skill-maxing...that sounds acceptable to me.

BS Once something is invented, it should be available for the public knowledge. What would happen if someone develops the cure for cancer but then it gets patented? Man I really hate this thread. Just seeing it linger on the first page makes me rage every time I see it. I've been around the MMORPG gaming community long enough, and I have seen these posts pop up every now and then. Some nerd rages over the fact that the game is evil and life-consuming. Meanwhile...everyone I play with is always like "Can't DK, hanging with my GF tonight" "Man just got back from a rough soccer practice..." "Ah sorry, I gotta bail, some friends just called" These people who have gaming problems are obviously in the minority, yet they project their problems onto everyone else and assume that EVERYONE neglects their family to play this game. lol

Write about doing a group project "One time I did a group project for history. A few days passed and nobody was doing anything so I had to step up. I gave each person a section to do their research on. I also did my own section of research. To complete the project I told the group to meet up at my house, and we worked all night" etc etc etc Then be sure to include something like "When I was in the leadership position I felt compelled to lead by example. Dude...the bottom of this sub-forum goes back to two months ago. I hardly think anything was necro'ed being only a few weeks from the previous post. If I responded to someone on the bottom of the first page, I'd still be responding to something that was written in September. Go figure...a forum full of nerds hardly uses the sports and fitness section.

I blame hip hop. Seriously, people who try to blame X for ruining Y are in denial that there is absolutely no correlation between X and Y, and the only reason your Y sucks is because of your own stupid decisions. I've spent thousands of hours playing games. But so what? I've spent thousands of hours on the bus...or driving to work. I've spent thousands of hours brushing my teeth, showering, etc. I've probably spent thousands of hours sitting in my room, laying down, and staring at the ceiling. What was the point of all these hours??? I couldve been out driving to LA, learning a language, taking a class!!! Except...IM NOT GOING TO SPEND MY WHOLE DAMN LIFE WORKING. Jesus christ...we need some relaxation in this world. My mom used to criticize me for playing games until I pointed out the fact that she watches the same amount of TV every day. I said "Whats the difference between sitting in front of the TV and sitting in front of the computer?" She couldn't think of a single reason, and simply said "Well, I guess youre right...sorry" Sometimes theres just nothing better to do on a weeknight. The house is clean, the laundry is done, youve cooked some meals to reheat for the next few days...lets spend a few hours doing something UNproductive. Imagine that, my whole life isn't hell bent on being "productive"

I was looking at the drops, and I was like...meh...seems decent. Then I saw the TTrail loot, and I literally said "Holy ****" IRL 10/10

Half of the reason I even play this game anymore is to just laugh at the stupid updates.
