Bringing Closure To This All?
Damn. You sound just like me. *elitist high-five* reminds me of dizzle's philosophy ...can't beleive someone who replaced o's with 0's in their name is a teacher... LOL. burned... To be fair the RS name is 8 years old, and the TIF name is 6 years old. I was still in high school back then...wow, hard to believe. I actually had Myweponsgood on TIF but then I lost the account info and also lost the info for the email that the account was registered to. Also I just wanted to point out, addressing the OP idea, that the same things could be said about anything that kids decide to do. For instance "omg I wasted so many hours in school football. now im in college and I dont even talk to the friends I made" or "OMG I spent so many years in my church group...now the church is closed and I dont even live in the same town any more" Everything you choose to focus on makes a neglect of other things. Dont discredit the time youve spent online. I'm sure you have learned and experienced plenty of good things aswell.

Mcdonalds burgers
I like "burger meat" in my eggs (gonna call it ground beef from here on). Just cook the meat and add it to scrabled eggs or an omlette. You can also break up the ground beef and break it up and use it as taco meat. Another favorite of mine is to use ground beef in meatballs, meat loaf, or stuffed peppers/stuffed cabbage. Mmmm...gonna go make some stuffed cabbage now. Basically just google "ground beef recipies" and substitute your burger patties where it says ground beef. I have one question though: are the patties raw or pre-cooked? If they are pre cooked in might be hard to use them in some things like meatballs. But if they are raw, it should work just fine if you let them thaw for a good long time. Raw, Frozen, Chef's Larder Burger Patties, American Style, 113g * 48. Not so sure on the meatballs, I could overmix it too easily. These taste somewhat like Mcdonalds burgers, amusingly. Hmmm. Yeah I mean it wont come out exactly like a real mealball would. But its a possibility.

Muscle Milk
We do when we're babies. Also, because women don't lactate all the time, and it would be really weird to have buildings devoted to milking women... "being weird" is not a good reason against it. If there are any cultures that have never seen a human drink milk from other animals, they would probably think it was "really weird" to have huge factories where we have cows attached to milking machines.

Bringing Closure To This All?
I also understand this and see your point of view. I cannot agree more with bolded statement. I'm a walking talking encyclopedia, I consider the internet a bigger help in: -Education -The understanding of the world -Current Events -Technological, Sociological, and Psychological areas than any School, Teacher, News Agency, or Textbook could EVER of taught me. I really truely do owe my intelligence and my know-how to my online experiences. However, I feel and know that it all is a double sided sword. Although you weren't out doing drugs and getting into trouble, you missed out on those key.life experiences which are the sociological glue and keystone to building a healthy relationship between yourself and the outside world. Why is it "right" to have a "healthy relationship" with the outside world? I dont want a relationship with the outside world. I have a beautiful fiance who is incredibly intelligent. We have a great life together. Between both of us, we have no more than a handfull of friends, who are all as disgusted with the general population as we are. People freaking suck. I will never understand why people think it is "correct" to be a social butterfly. I am much more content with my life having interaction with as few people as possible. Ironically, though, I am a teacher. lol...I guess it isnt really that ironic. I kind of feel like I am making the world a less terrible place by encouraging kids to actually enjoy using their minds, instead of becoming wastes who will grow up to do nothing of any intellectual value.

Mcdonalds burgers
A burger doesn't have to be healthy to be a good burger. It just has to be real... At least for me. I bet if you eat nothing but fatty, organic meat for a month you'll have health issues, at least later in life. Fat has nothing to do with it. If you'd like to learn, you can Google the term "ketogenic diet". Someone on a ketogenic diet has most of their calories come from fats. Only a very tiny amount of carbs are in the diet, enough for you to eat very fiberous veggies such as Kale. No breads, no fruits, no sugars. The diet was initially used to control seizures, but is now being used as a tool for consistent fat loss. Much of the traditional "FAT IS GONNA CLOG MY ARTERIES!!!" is no longer actually thought to be true. Even dietary cholesterol is seen as a waste to monitor. There are medical conditions such as high cholesterol, high blood pressure, etc that can be aggrivated by a high fat diet...but it is no longer thought that the high fat diet can actually cause these problems. Of course, calories need to be considered. A gram of fat has 9 calories, whereas a gram of carbs and protein each have 4 calories. Therefore, unmonitored "high fat" diets are usually excessive in caloric intake, which WILL lead to obesity, which will lead to these health problems. But, if you keep your cals in check, getting many of your calories from fat is not going to make you fat, or cause other health problems.

Bringing Closure To This All?
I don't agree with your book idea. I see it being taken by the over-protective parents of America and being broadcast all over the news as another reason to be harder on kids about games. When I was younger, I too had a couple moments when I felt..."angry" about my gaming habits. But now I'm older and I realize the truth... The real world really just sucks. And people are stupid. Immature kids are especially stupid. I'm very thankful that I played 4+ hours of videogames every day through high school, because the majority of kids in my school were out doing drugs, stealing, getting shot, and getting people pregnant. The world is a terrible terrible place for people who have a brain. Nobody says you have to be young and stupid. I'm personally glad that I spent most of my "reckless" years playing videogames, because nobody my age was doing anything more constructive. Thats the way I see it

Homosexuality: Right or Wrong?
Democracy is dead in the United States. The "presidents" we vote for are all corrupt. We don't really have a REAL choice of who gets elected. We get to choose between a few people...all of whom are ridiculously wealthy, or have been funded by massive corporations such as the Monsanto food corporation. Executives from Monsanto funded the Bush campaign, and then these executives were appointed into government positions with the FDA to oversee the very company they belonged to. We no longer have a choice. The rich people make all of the choices for us. We then have the illusion of choice delivered to us based on how the media companies are told to deliver the information to us. Obama is no different. A corrupt bastard who makes leadership choices heavily influenced by all the corrupt rich bastards who funded his campaign.

Runescape Pro vs Old timer
So, looking at Runescape, it is easy to see that the community once was awesome. Now came along the GE and trade limits and now everyone is too hell bent on productivity and instant gratification. The once amazing community is now filled with people who are just very cold to each other and are only worried about their own business. Kind of like exactly what happened with the development of the capitalist consumer society here in America (which is spreading to other parts of the world). Runescape is such a clear example of what happens to a society when you take away most of the social interactions and replace them with interactions with a faceless conglomerate (in this case, the GE). Really interesting to think about, actually. I also think that "old school" RS was focused on blaming the players for when bad things happened in the game. Now, when people explot bugs, we blame Jagex, instead of the scumbag exploiters. Just like everyone in the US blames the government for all of the problems, instead of the mass of people who are doing nothing to fix it.

Mcdonalds burgers
Yep, quite simple physics. It's stupid that some people think it's not deteriorating in the body, because it does. It just doesn't get mouldy in the air because there isn't enough moisture content in the damn thing. Lmao that is a very good point. Its a good thing that the stomach doesnt work by filling itself with air and letting micro-organisms eat the food. They should take the 4 year old burger and put it in a jar of stomach acid. Lets see what happens to it then.

There is absolutely no way that any substance that had any meat in it could ever last that long. This is propaganda. And I'm totally against processed foods. I think a lot of what we do to food is dangerous and wrong. I really never eat fast food... That being said, I'm against fabricating stories to trick people into coming to my side.

What do you think makes a good teacher?
The single most important quality in a teacher is being able to relate to each and every student. Even the ones you don't like (yes...there will be ones that you hate) So if you are a xenophobe or cannot "put yourself into someone else's shoes" then don't even think about being a teacher.' Oh and the second most important quality is bieng able to be incredibly creative in a very restrictive environment. Teachers now have a huge list of "standards" that they must teach their students, and there are also many guidelines that must be followed within your district. So you have to be prepared to follow these rules, but at the same time create a class that is individualized for your learners. EDIT: Lol sorry I just had to add a 3rd point in here. I'm a teaching intern atm so I just had to give you all of my best advice. The 3rd most important thing is organizational skills. You must be prepared for every school day and be ready to use every precious minute of classtime. Many teachers laze around for the first 3 minutes and last 3 minutes of class. But that is 6 minutes of each class. 6 minutes of each class means that you have lost 18 hours of instructional time over the course of the year. Don't be lazy. Be prepared to keep your students busy.

Does anyone else think about this?
I blame the terrible education system. All the teachers at urban schools are there because they cant get a job anywhere else. We need teachers who believe that everyone is capable of sucess. A lot of underclass people could do some great things if there was just one person in their life who believed in them. I mean, dont get me wrong, there are plenty of scumbags who don't want to have a future and just want to be criminals. But there are also plenty of people who end up in that lifestyle only because nobody gives them a chance. I think that if you took a kid from the poorest, dirtiest, laziest family and put him in a school full of role models who actually cared about his success, believed in his ability, and held him to high expectations, he would turn his life around.

Vegetarianism
Damn, offtopic is basically "heated debate forum" now. Haha I didn't mean to start such a huge argument. (though I bet someone wouldve brought up the environmental reasons anyway) The bottom line is, whether you are an omnivore or an herbivore, you can't deny the fact that meat production is a strain on our food supply and it is a wasteful process. I just wanted people to consider an actual logical reason for being vegan, instead of the "moral/emotional" reasons. Unless you think it is a "moral" choice of whether or not the place that you live in should become overpolluted. I think anyone who had half a rational thought could figure out that the young people of today need to start worrying about the destruction of the earth while they are still alive.

Vegetarianism
I agree. My "statistics" are just an ideallized scenario. But then lets say that you usually only eat meat for lunch and dinner. That makes 14 meals a week where you eat meat. So if you give up just ONE of those then you are reducing your meat consumption by MORE than 5%. But yeah the whole point of my statistics were just to give an example how every little bit can help. I meant that the pollution strictly from the meat industry would lower by 5%. Yes. I think that if there was a more sustainable way to produce our current ammount of meat, then veganism would just be a personal diet choice basically, instead of something that everyone really should spend some time considering. There have been studies that actually link meat consumption to cancer...However, I am skeptical of these studies because meat eaters probably tend to eat less vegetables as a whole. I think that a diet that includes meat and tons of vegetables would probably be just as healthy as a vegetarian diet. Also, there is the chance that the vegetarians they studied have less cancer due to the fact that a vegetarian pays more attention to their health. For example, most studies of nutritional supplements (such as multi vitamins, and other things that "promote health") show that the human body does not like to really absorb these supplements. Most of your daily multi-v leaves your body through your urine. But, when you study the people who take supplements, they are usually way healthier. Clearly, studying the individual supplements shows that they aren't very effective, yet the people who take them are much healthier. How? Well, some people have hypothesized that the people who spend money on health supplements are more likely to pay attention to their diet, and also make other healthy choices such as not smoking. I think that is exactly what is going on with the whole "vegetarians are healthier" thing. Developed countries (such as the US) send food aid to countries where people are starving. If people in these developed countries ate less meat, there would be more food available to send overseas in the form of aid. There would be less demand for grain and thus it would cost less to send more food.

Philosophy, Riddles and complete mind[bleep]s
Why not? It doesn't make any sense to limit ourselves to just scientific mind[bleep]s when there are so many others. And science and philosophy can combine together... I majored in physics for my undergraduate studies and a few of my classmates were philosophy+physics double majors. In all seriousness, the two fields combine extremely well.

Vegetarianism
Theres actually a very good reason for being a vegetarian (vegan really) that has not been discussed yet. In my opinion, this is the reason that everyone should consider vegetarianism, respect it, and at least give it a shot...(well I guess its a couple reasons put together) The meat industry is one of the world's largest sources of pollution. Also, stock animals are fed many tons of grains, corn, etc. We are running into trouble feeding the world, and many more calories worth of food must be given to the cow to eat than would ever be obtained by eating the cow itself or drinking its milk. Whenever you eat a cow, you are choosing an option that is less sustainable. That 200 calories of beef required that cow to eat many times that ammount of calories in its own food. When you drink a cows milk, you are supporting the business that must keep these dairy cows alive. Dairy cows eat more food than what they produce in milk. So even if you don't give a crap about animal rights or whatever...at least do the world a favor and make yourself aware of what factory farming does to the world. The days have long passed since we got our meat from a beautiful farm where cows roam free on green pastures (they do sell pasture beef now). Factory farming now involves shoving thousands of cattle onto the smallest land plot possible. The fecal matter creates disgusting run-off from the plant which pollutes our own water. So if you dont care about animals, I'm sure you care about humans. I mean, youre one of them. Give veganism some respect, and take a moment to understand or even try the lifestyle. At least make yourself aware of how much you may depend on animal products. I have tried veganism and it just doesn't work for me. I have a liver condition and carb sources of calories just make me feel like I need to go take a nap. So I have chosen that it is more important for me to feel good than for other people to have more food available. I'm by no means saying that it is correct for everyone. I'm just saying that every responsible citizen should at least take the time to make themselves aware of the choice that they aren't making. The beauty of the above reasons is that every little bit helps. Even if you eat meat most of the time, one vegan meal per week helps get feces out of the rivers and get food on starving people's plates. I mean, if you are like the average person, you eat 21 meals per week. If everybody pitched in and ate one vegan, or even vegetarian, meal each week, that would reduce the demands on the meat industry by 5%. 5% less pollution. 5% more grain available to feed the world. I personally do "meatless mondays" where every monday is free of animal products (unless I'm feeling under the weather). Just think about it.

Philosophy, Riddles and complete mind[bleep]s
There is a physics experiment called the "double slit" experiment Basically, you shine light on these two tiny slits, and you get an interference pattern on the screen. This pattern is in accordance with wave mechanics. By this, I mean that if you do the same thing with a wave of water, you get the same interference pattern. But...now suppose that instead of shining a whole ton of light onto the two slits, you shoot one photon at the slits at a time. The interference pattern remains Intuitively, this doesn't make sense. We thought we got the pattern because waves of light were "hitting against" eachother. But shooting one photon at a time produces the same results? Why? Because photons dont actually travel in a physical wave, the "wave" that describes them is actually a wave of "probability". The photon isn't actually anywhere until you observe it. Welcome to your universe. It is a quantum mechanical universe http://grad.physics.sunysb.edu/~amarch/
