I have no shame in sniping friends... :-w [hide=Snipe #007 - Vilya (Gilformen)] I had to crop the picture a little bit because he was botting powermining Iron ore in order to get Strange rocks, so there was like 3,498 Iron ore on the ground. ;x[/hide] <3:

07-Jun-2011 Deadliest Catch
After the Easter 2011 update (Hawthorn & Holly) a lot of players experienced a graphical glitch with the Amulet of nature. When equipped, it would appear to have a white gem similar to a diamond amulet/Amulet of power, rather than an emerald-colored gem. [hide=Screenie from the day it got pwnt][/hide] Took them nearly two months to fix it, but hey... at least I can stop raging every update now. :-w

You don't have to be in the same chat as the person you are sniping. A lot of TIFers use various clan/friend chats (HYT, FSC, DGS). As long as they use Tip.It/Tip.It Forums, feel free to snipe them. Half of the fun is trying to find names you recognize, and not relying on colored minimap dots.

Pew pew pew. [hide=Snipe #004 - Spooferfish][/hide] [hide=Snipe #005 - Hiroki][/hide] [hide=Snipe #006 - Echocut][/hide] Well, I don't really know a lot of people in RS based off of their forum names. So some people I'll recognize in-game as being a TIFer, but have no idea who they are on forums. And some people I know to use Tip.It (the fansite) don't necessarily use the forums. At any rate... ElricEdward = @Neos_Matrix Boros = Balthamel = No idea sorry.

I'm just saying. Some people could easily think they could just take a screenshot of the player, and not need to have the RSN showing. *shrug* Edit: Bwahahahahahah! So it begins... [hide=Snipe #001 - ElricEdward] ily[/hide] [hide=Snipe #002 - Boros][/hide] [hide=Snipe #003 - Balthamel] You can run but you can't hide.[/hide]

Ohhhhh, it's on. And just to contribute to the previous discussion, the only thing that was "banned" last time was the area between the Prayer guild and the western wall of the Grand Exchange. Sniping someone inside the Grand Exchange area was only ever "frowned upon" because of how many people hung out there... but it wasn't flat-out banned. More-or-less just considered a low-blow. For this "version 2.0" I wouldn't mind making Edgeville, the Grand Exchange, and the immediate area around Daemonheim off-limits for sniping. Edit: I also think it should be added to the rules (for those players who are new to sniping) that the person's name must be visible in your screenshot. May seem like common sense, but... :-w

Familiarisation
You know, when I wrote the Activity guide for Familiarisation, it looks like I forgot to mention how often you can do it. :shades: My bad. It is similar to Tears of Guthix in the sense that you must wait 7 days after playing Familiarisation before playing again. It does not "reset" on any specific day like Penguin hunting does. I'll see about getting this added to the guide to clear up any confusion.

Sip
It annoys me, so i rant about it. Well, I know it annoys you... I just don't see why it's annoying. By definition when someone tells you to sip a pot, that is correct. You're taking a small (aka single dose) drink of the potion. It's like ranting about someone saying they were "moving" when they were actually running...? It's technically correct. A lot of people frequently say to "take a sip of <X potion>".
-
Sip
To "sip" something literally means to take a little drink of a liquid... I don't see how this warrants a rant.

Armpits...
What. Shaving your armpit hair has nothing to do with "batting for the other team." I think this is an immature correlation to imply. There are several reasons why a man would decide to shave his underarms, and it doesn't necessarily mean he is gay. For starters, a lot of male athletes shave their underarms - mainly, swimmers for reasons of being more "streamline" underwater; and bodybuilders for cosmetic/aesthetic reasons. There are also plenty of straight guys (who aren't necessarily athletes) who simply like to keep their underarm hair trimmed or shaved. On top of that, there are countless gay men who don't shave their underarms. In fact, a lot of gay men actually like underarm hair - both on themselves and on their partners. By your same reasoning, facial hair "is there for a reason" but no one seems to question a man (or his sexuality) for shaving that off. It's a skewed view of masculinity if someone assumes that a man has to be hairy in order to be manly. Or straight.

Tip.It Times - 22nd May 2011
Well, I know that Tip.It just changed servers, and a lot of people were experiencing some issues with things like the Item DB, Bestiary, etc... Perhaps this is just part of that. Although, I have fixed it to where I can access the Item, Bestiary, Quest DBs, etc... hm...

Tip.It Times - 22nd May 2011
I'm sorry, but how are you people finding/reading these articles? There was no frontpage announcement on the Tip.It helpsite, nor can they be found in the Tip.It Times archive. Edit: Nor does Racheya's link work in her first post (for me, anyway.)

What movie(s) did you last see?

Sextant, Watch and Chart
Well, I've just done a bit more digging, and another fansite (different from the first one I mentioned) doesn't even mention needing the sextant, watch and chart. It might be worth just starting the quest and trying it out without the items; the worst that can happen is that you discover you do in fact need the items, which is the same situation you're in right now regardless. On the other hand, the best that could happen is that it works without the items. :) You could also maybe help in clarifying the information on the Tip.It quest guide for this quest; a lot of other people might be happy to know if these items are in fact optional for completing the quest. Edit: In regards to your first comment, the Meerkat does multiple things. It can be used as a sextant, it can be used to Dig for clues in place of needing a spade, and it also does not disturb any "guardian" NPCs. Yes, but there are certain monsters that drop them fairly quickly (i.e., Hellhounds and Jellies.)
-
Sextant, Watch and Chart
Another fansite claims that you can summon a Meerkat (level 4 Summoning) and use it in place of the sextant, watch and chart. It might be worth trying out. (You could, of course, always farm clue scrolls until you get a coordinates clue.)
