And to find out how much exp that will be, just use this table: http://www.tip.it/runescape/index.php?page=xp_table.htm

People probably aren't going to keep reading this thread with a new topic, but I'd suggest taking a look at Barrows. It has nice, high stats, and even with the repair costs, it's far far cheaper than dragon. Also, it can be customized for your attack style and sets will give you specials, something else you don't get with dragon armor.

Penguin hunt: Go talk to Larry the penguin keeper in the zoo in Ardoughne. He'll tell you about it. Basically, every week ten penguins are scattered all over runescape, wandering around in moving, bouncing crates, rocks, bushes, etc. They're pretty easy to spot as long as you're looking in the right places. Finding each gives you a penguin point (not an item, just a status). At any time you can go talk to Larry, and either trade the penguin points for money (terrible, stupid idea) or experience (very decent experience, too, similar to Tears of Guthix but you can choose what skill it goes to). With ten points available a week, you can easily get about 10k experience at level 60 summoning from it. If you join a penguin hunting chat, you can usually find all of them on the Wednesday when they reset to new locations within about 15 minutes.

Smoking Kills dungeon is the one in Pollinveach, the one you need the facemask at all times in. Slayer cave is east of Relleka.

best way to make money with mining and smithing?
Kellis replied to wodfist's topic in Help and Advice
The rewards from SC are excellent for smithing, just not mining. -
Hmm, I remember reading somewhere that using the edgeville furnace messes with the ring of forging . . . not sure though. Give it a try.
-
Use the slayer cave, they're not hard at all. Just don't forget the mirror shield. They drop quite a lot of herbs.
-
Mine the ores yourself X( But seriously, go with iron ores and rings of forging. Or, alternatively, mine gold and sell it, use the money to buy coal, and go with steel bars.

. . . . and it has over time become the insulting version. Go take a look in the Rants forum if you don't believe me, there are pages and pages detailing it. -
Definitely do as many patches as you can. As you get more bored with farming, you may choose to only do the patches that are easily accessed, but in the beginning definitely hit as many as you can. The more you hit, the more experience per growing time you get! There's also a guide somewhere on hitting every patch in a single run . . . I'm not sure where it is though. And you really won't lose almost any money if you pickpocket the masterfarmers for the seeds. The only thing you may spend on is the tree seeds, and that won't be too much (especially at beginning levels). Be sure to keep those crops you harvest to pay for later crop loads! @Omidsan: Yes, he hasn't tried it yet, but at least he's being polite and articulate about it, instead of just posting another "Omg money plz!!!!11! how do I get lots?!?!/1??!!1!shift1!" thread like is here all the time. And he's getting help and advice on it, just as the forum's intended to do! Yay!

Done the digsite portion yet? Found all the artifacts (I think that there are like 4 different artifacts)?

If you're thinking of the God Bird (the hawks you see flying behind people occasionally), then yes, they can be either red, green, or blue. It's dependent upon the egg that they hatch from - if the egg is blue, the bird will be saradomin (and blue). Red=zamorak, green=guthix, etc.

Cow hides. The clay tip above is really only useful for the first ten levels or so, after that the experience rate gets below that of hides.

best way to make money with mining and smithing?

what if he isnt aloud in the crafting guild then huh? and learn how to spell you newb its newb not noob and steelbars sell for 607 minimum "Noob" is the insulting version of "newb." And as Kazel said, there's not a ton of fast profit to be had in smithing, especially not when compared to other methods of earning money like mining essences, woodcutting, hunting (for p2p) and even fishing at high levels. As for mining, mining gold ore to sell in exchange for buying the coal is a good idea, instead of wasting time gathering the coal yourself. If you go this route, either smelt then sell the steel bars (for more profit) or smelt and smith the steel bars, then sell what you make (for more experience). Also, if you take the second, more-experience route, as I would recommend, be sure to pick up a morphic tool from Stealing Creation if you're p2p! The experience boost will prove invaluable. -

You get more money for the gold ore than for the smithed products you would make out of it, and gold gives little smithing experience (unless you've got the gold gloves from the Family Crest quest). -
Varrock armor. The higher the level of varrock armor you're wearing, the more battlestaves per day you can purchase. Varrock Armor 3 lets you purchase 64 a day :D

Seriously, there's no need to start a second thread about this - if you've got another question, just post it in your original thread. Maybe some punctuation would be nice too. Anyway, you'll most likely have between 69 and 71 hp.
-
As a note, if you get bored of training thieving go do some hunter. At 57 hunter you can use the gloves of silence, which are a HUGE help in pickpocketing masterfarmers. They'll actually speed up your exp gain, too, since you'll be failing less of the time. Maybe as a celebration of hitting 43 thieving (needed for the masterfarmers), you can go boost hunter to 57. It won't take long anyway.

And if you're going to be bringing in loads of cash via runecrafting, just buy the planks. Use the tip.it calculator to see how many you need, put in a GE order, and presto! Your money has been replaced by many pieces of wood! Anyway, as to the debate Ray's referring to, basically plank-running is the second choice if you don't have a way of earning lots of money. If you can earn enough to make up for the higher price on the GE, then that's less mind-wearing than plank running. Although I for some reason don't seem to mind walking back and forth to the sawmill, you may tire quickly. If you feel like you're simply losing money far too fast, you can switch to plank-running for a few rounds then go back and post another offer if you feel like it's too slow.

Yeah, that sounds right. Although at those low levels, you can pretty much run around and attack any low leveled monster you want. Also, if you don't mind taking a break for some quests, you can go do those. Most provide some experience as a reward, so it'll give you some levels as well. Basically, as your attack goes up, you're just buying the top scimitar that you can wield.
-
Very slow at his level. Since you're a member, can I suggest killing Cave Slimes? You grab a couple of super antipoisons off the GE, and go to work, picking up all the swamp tar they drop. Since it stacks, you can easily get 150k-200k worth in an hour or so. Or, as I'd recommend, go raise some of your skills! You've got fairly low skills, money-making-wise, so raise them! It will be fun, too, since the levels will still come fairly quickly.
-
You can easily buy 99 firemaking if you want. It's a useless skill (except for the Inferno adze, which is DEFINITELY worth picking up), but it's fairly fast, and cheap to buy. Just go maples. At 36 each, you can probably buy it for under 4m if your firemaking's in the middle range of levels. Oh, almost forgot. The reason I mention it is that it's FAST. You could probably get to it in a week or so if you were willing to spend every moment on runescape burning logs. If you decide to, don't forget to pick up the experience boosting rewards from Beacon Network.
-
The Fairy Tale- Part I quest (which gives you the magic secateurs) also will probably give you a farming boost. Don't forget about the vinesweeper minigame. You can trade in the points you collect for experience. Although you won't get a 1:1 trading ratio of points to experience until level 40, it can be good if you're close to a level and don't mind spending fifteen minutes running around with a shovel to grab those last 400 points of experience. Also, RayOxide, you only get 1 bunch of marigolds per harvest, not 3. Still, that 3k will give you plenty of seeds. Or just rob the masterfarmers, like I do.

It's a joke. Like, "That one fish you miss is the one that you wanted."

The amulet is from the Temple of Ikov quest.
