It really depends on what your specific assignment is, but in general you should be fine for ranging. Just keep in mind that ranging a task is always slower than meleeing it, except for a few specific cases, so expect a slightly higher time investment. You really shouldn't have much of a problem killing the monsters though, especially at 35 slayer to start. As for bolts, mith would most likely be best (since you can't use broad bolts yet), but if the monster's a low level, you can go ahead and downgrade your bolts to save money. You've got a pretty wide variety of choices.

Still at item smithed last time I checked.

How fast do you want to get there? And do you just want one to feel good about it or do you want one that you will put to regular use?
-
I'm not sure about teleporting out of the abyssal plane, but it's much easier because the monsters are far more spread out (and I'm pretty sure it's not multi-combat). It's much easier to fight without being mobbed by a dozen abyssal denizens at once.

Wow, way to spam a thread. Seriously, some people actually like training useful skills. If you want to post things like this, go do it in the Debate Club forum where people pontificate for pages and pages about whether or not so-and-so skill is worthwhile. Keep it on topic, why don't you?

After you've done the abyss mini-quest (with the zamorak mage in Varrock), he'll tell you to talk to him at the start of the river, just north of Edgeville. He'll give you your first pouch (holds 3). After that, proceed either well-equipped into the abyss, or use the fairy ring to teleport to the abyssal plane, and kill the monsters till they drop the pouches you need.

Unfortunately, the flaming seems to be spreading into the other forums. For example, a recent thread asking about powermining on the H&A forum quickly degenerated into a certain player proclaiming how "powermining is nub" (direct quote, btw), and bashing anyone who went against him. Never mind that the OP didn't care about whether or not to do it, he just wanted to know how. Yet the thread went on for three pages in an all-against-one flamewar over whether powermining was "epic failz" or not. I believe the word Nazi got tossed around once or twice.

I lost ... money when I was hacked (creative beggars)
Kellis replied to ShadowTwisted's topic in Rants
Wow, that's . . . . actually really kind of you. And trusting, I'm not sure I wouldn't trust the other person to simply sell it off and keep on with the begging, emboldened by the response. I especially dislike the beggars who are not level 3, but are instead level 65 or 70. They obviously did some skills to get that level, and they obviously had some money (otherwise why would they be complaining about being hacked? The hacker had to have taken some items or cash or they wouldn't have even noticed, most likely), so why can't they go USE THOSE FREAKIN' SKILLS THEY'VE ALREADY GOT!!?!?!?! . . . . Sorry, I get angry sometimes. And by the way, I always thought that the metaphor was: Give a man a fish and he'll eat for a day. Teach a man to fish and you'll lose your hold on him. Although I always preferred this one: Give a man a fire and he's warm for a day. Light him on fire and he'll be warm for the rest of his life. Use Tinderbox --> Beggar (Level 67) -
Several times the thread tends to break down into an argument over different methods. While sometimes this is helpful by giving the OP a balanced look at both sides, more often than not it is just annoying and off topic, with posters preferring to bash on other people's methods or integrity instead of actually making constructive criticism and advice. I've noticed this too, since I tend to browse through the H&A forum while doing something tedious, picking up new bits of information and trying to help out anyone I see with a question in an area I'm knowledgeable in. But yes, there are several people (generally with a low post count, true, but that's because they don't contribute anything worthwhile and thus don't post many times in a thread to explain something) who just seem to post with the first thing that pops into their heads. This is the thing that happens a bit more in the chat, but shouldn't occur on the forums. On the chat, someone says something, and you reply with a "lol, that would be funny" or some comment that doesn't actually SAY anything. The problem is when people are leaving posts that either A) make a personal comment which doesn't provide any help and is unrelated to whatever the OP's talking about, or B) simply parrot what has already been said several posts previously.

Need help with pouch buying. Please. I'm begging.

Really? Then I guess I'm just extremely unlucky in my grinding. Off to the abyssal planes I go again! -

You also won't get one without the appropriate runecrafting level. So if you're level 73, don't expect to find any giant pouches. -
I know that the red-and-blue armor is iron equivalent, so I'd think that it would have the same stats as iron . . . I don't know the equivalencies for the others. EDIT: It was pointed out that it's steel, not iron. Disregard this post.
-
:twss: LOL, why do you think everyone wants to go there? It's very good money, as long as you have the stats to survive it. What's your ranging level? Are you going with prayer potions or defense and bones to peaches tabs? If you don't know the answers to these, it would behoove you to look through some of the guides on either the Help and Advice site or in the Archive of Wisdom.

Nope, Ava's Accumulator. It's from the Animal Magnetism quest, and it's a must-have. By the way, there are already (and always are) several threads on aviansies giving the best items in this forum. Go check out one, they're full of useful info.

:-s Maybe I'm just boring then - I really don't mind the trekking back and forth. Anyway, Omidsan, it's up to you. If you'd rather just buy them off the GE and use the time saved to earn back the extra you paid, you can do that. Or, if you dislike the money-earning methods (which I admit can also get somewhat repetitive  go figure), then just run them. Take your pick. In any case, planks to 19, oak planks all the way to 50 and beyond.
-
Hey Ray, some people don't mind spending some extra time instead of buying everything straight off the GE. Besides, as I showed in calculations before, it does save money. Sometimes people prefer longer, cheaper measures over the short and expensive ones. Aren't you the one always claiming that powertraining is nub?

thats whats so great about it What, that the guy doesn't get cleaned out in the inevitable divorce?

If you insist on fishing, be sure to get the Lumbridge Explorer's Ring 3. The cabbage teleport makes getting back to the Draynor bank much faster.

Woodcut the planks to save money, buy them straight from the G.E. to save time. Up to you. About a 75% price markup if you buy straight from G.E. If you wc them, there are oak trees right next to the sawmill east of Varrock. Equip an axe, bring lots of cash, and just run up, cut them, exchange them for planks, then run them back to the bank. Lol, you take the planks to your player-owned house portal, enter in building mode, and use them to build things. Oak larders are a buildable item in the kitchen, available at level 33, that are just efficient because they take very little time to build. But first, you'll need to get up to a level where you can use oak planks! So bring along a bunch of nails and regular planks at first, until you've leveled up to 19, at which point you can scrap the regular planks and nails and build oak chairs in your parlor instead. Oak planks, as mentioned above, need no nails. From 19-33, build oak chairs (then later oak armchairs). Once you get to 33, just keep on using oak planks to rebuild the larder in the kitchen.

. . . Just to be clear, we're talking about Aviansies, the bird monsters in god dungeon, right? Not averies, which is a terrible misspelling of aviaries, which are bird nests? Anyway, you should try to get a god item of at least zamorak, saradomin, and Armadyl. Good items include Saradomin and Zamorak pieces of Blessed d'hide (same stats as black, sold in G.E. or from treasure trails) and the Armadyl pendant from the Temple of Ikov quest.

I already have massive points, gonna do dt then go get about 28 morphic tools then do nonstop con and then recharge when needed. Instead of doing limestone and saving a couple of coins i guess i'll do oak planking but im still kinda confused on it... What points are you still confused upon? The idea behind oak planks is that each one gives 60 experience in construction. It doesn't matter what it's used for, or whether what you're building requires 2 oak planks or 8, you always get 60 experience PER PLANK USED. Simple. Oak larders are suggested because they use eight planks each, which means less clicking per trip (inventory of 24 oak planks + hammer + saw = either three oak larders or twelve oak chairs. The larders are faster because you only have to build 3 (six clicks) instead of twelve (24 clicks).)

Done only on PvP worlds, right? That's the one where you sacrifice the couple to ensure that they never grow angry with each other, and you're paid in phat lewt, right?

It's best not to ever paint on rune kites. You generally will just be wearing the heraldic shields for show anyway, and steel kites are much cheaper. The process is currently IRREVERSIBLE, yes, so if you do paint a rune kite, well, be prepared to keep it for a while :?
