Epic phail.. "Ooh, hey, look! I just made a new PKer, and got him up to level 60 in the two weeks that this quest has been around! I can see I need another 20k experience to make it to 61, so I'll use these 10 goulashes on it for a total of 6k experience! Awesome!" Think about what you're suggesting. Maybe provide some support for your flimsy argument instead of hiding behind blanket insults.

Still wouldn't be worth it. 600 exp at level 60 isn't going to change much.
-
If it was subliminal we wouldn't know about it . . . it may tempt some f2pers back for the new mega-quest though.
-
Up until that, knives are very fast ranged exp. Hopefully you've got Ava's Accumulator, so you can recover your lost knives without having to pick them up.
-
For strength 1 point of damage = 4 exp. Thus, your bowl of goulash saves you 2.5 points of damage. 10 goulash bowls = killing 4 cows. Verdict: not worth it. For prayer, 1 bone = 4.5 exp. Thus, your bowl of goulash saves you 2.1-ish bones. 10 goulash bowls = about 21 bones. Verdict: not worth it. Genie lamps/goulash aren't any good for leveling. They're merely useful for getting a small boost every now and then in a hard-to-train skill.

I think that they just went out to everyone who has AT SOME POINT been a member and done the quest. Hence, even the f2p'ers who were once members and did the quest still got them.

28 October 2008 - Hallowe'en Event and Quest
Kellis replied to chris1216's topic in General Discussion
Don't whine. You got three new holiday clothing items + a wieldable fun item (with an animation, no less!), the equivalent of 10 genie lamps, divisible in any way among any skills, a teleport and magic exp if you're a member, AND a cool colored cat. Honestly, the predictions on the forums were something like "black reaper robes." I think that they outdid themselves on this. If you're going to bash it, then don't participate in any holiday events. What were you hoping for, godswords and party hats for all? -
She also might only appear on member's worlds, similar to the sorceress's apprentice in Al Kharid.

Head Cheff's Guide to Cooking!! V.3, almost complete?!
Kellis replied to headcheff's topic in General Guides
With varrock armor 3 (from diaries), the bank in the Cook's Guild can be used for fast access to ingredients. The level 3 requirements are very hard, though, so most players won't be able to do them all right off the bat. Something to work for, though, when taking a break from cooking? -
ah, nevermind. Missed that

You can do herbs at night as well if you don't mind losing the unavoidable few. Usually herb losses aren't too bad. Also, make sure you're keeping a farming amulet on whenever the neck slot isn't vital for something else - you don't even need to contact it, just feel it vibrate and hear the annoying hum to know that it's crop-checkin' time.
-
They're really not that bad, I do them sometimes for some easy money. Since you get a guaranteed hide per dragon (which makes sense  ), you have to kill, at most, 28 dragons before you can cash in for ~50k. Bring a anti-dragonfire shield (I've forgotten mine a couple times and had to run back down for it #-o ), fill your inventory with cheap and easy food like tuna, and keep the hides. The Lumbridge explorer's ring 3 is useful to low alch any other drops they might have. If you don't bury the bones and instead keep them to sell, too, you have to only kill 14 dragons, at most! See how this is fast money?
-
Since you're not going to be checking up on your herbs throughout the day (aka every 15 minutes when not wearing a farming amulet), just use supercompost and plant them at the beginning. Assuming that they don't get sick, they'll simply be waiting for you when you do your harvesting run at the end of the day, smiling and holding out a big bundle of herblore exp/cash. Plus some extra farming experience, although not much compared to the trees. It's mainly about the herbs and/or the cash.

Why pay membership on two accounts? For that matter, unless you're building a skiller or a pure, there's NO reason I can see to go and do a task horribly at low levels on a new account when you could be breezing through it on your way to a skill cape on your main. If a level 70 is killing dragons and complaining about his main (IF he has one), why doesn't he come kill them on his main with much less effort? Don't tell me he enjoys the challenge. If that was the case he wouldn't be whining like an untended baby.

I joined approximately a month and a half ago, after spending almost six years on and off as a f2p-er. Surprisingly enough, I'm actually fairly caught up (stats in siggy if you want to see) and I've gotten to play almost every minigame. I don't have access to all the guilds or GWD yet, but I've gotten at least half of the quests done as well. Of course, I've got plenty of free time to play in college (easy class semester, woot!), but still, the point stands that in no more than 2-3 months of dedicated membership it's pretty easy to catch up on member skills, especially with the non-member skills already high to support them. I didn't even think ahead to build up a giant lump sum of cash before joining :wall: but I made it just fine.

I enjoy how even though this thread is supposed to be full of people ranting about the uselessness, it's full of people exclaiming how great this last update was. Not to say that I don't agree, of course. I love the broom, even if I fail completely at the Sorceress's Garden minigame. Plus, the outfit looks great for when I'm out chopping wood.

In my humble opinion, I think that fletching and cooking are hard capes to achieve as well. Everyone always argues that capes can be "bought", which cheapens the cape. Sure, it's easier to simply buy a billion lobsters than to go out and slay monsters, but I want to know, where do you get the 11 million gp to buy all these lobsters? Sure, the actual experience gain is fast and easy, but that doesn't mean that the whole attaining of the cape was easy. Someone had to put in a lot of time in order to earn that 11 million in the first place. And they were probably figuring on using the money to buy their way to a cape. I have been playing for years, the most that I've ever had in my bank was 3.5 million. Maybe I just spend it all way too fast, but 11 million or however much cooking/fletching costs to get to 99 is still a lot of money. Money which takes time and dedication (and more willpower than I have :? ) to earn it. That does take some work. Also, carpal tunnel is surely in the future of people who repetitively clicked over and over for firemaking or mining. Sure, most skills like these merely require repeated clicking on the same spot over and over, but think of all the temptations that they had to resist in order to keep on going, hour after hour. I don't have a single skillcape yet, because I simply get too bored of any one repetitive task. So sure, you can argue that fletching can be bought, but it still requires days, if not weeks, of constant clicking and resisting the urge to throw everything down, say "**** this!", and head off to a more fun task. I respect them for that when I see the cape. P.S. Please, please tell me how to get 11m fletching exp/day! I'd love to be able to do it. Unless you're talking about what you can get once you're ALREADY at 99 fletching and have TONS of money to spend on materials at max cost at the G.E. and are talking about a day a.k.a. 24 HOURS of STRAIGHT GAMEPLAY. No one with even a fraction of a life plays that much a day.

That's not four trips. That's four trips once you've got a high enough level for the air rune multipliers. It's only 28 air runes for 28 essence to start off with.

Hey, if it saves me a lap around an agility course it's good enough for me.
-
Looks right to me, combat stats are easy to calculate. By the way, pest control does only give half exp, but the points can be turned in for more, and it is what is generally known as a "target-rich environment." Go there with the accumulator and run around killing everything.
-
I'm working my way towards the upper firemaking levels too, and I'm grabbing them. I don't grind seriously, but if I choose to go buy a couple thousand logs and burn them, an extra 5% exp is definitely worth it. Also, the minigame isn't too hard and you get more firemaking exp for lighting the beacons as well!
-
It says that it can't be used until the quest is done, at which point you can have it enchanted to teleport you to the sorceress's garden minigame. This has been listed in half a dozen threads already . . . Also, it sweeps if you remove it and click "sweep". The sweeping is just an animation, it doesn't do anything.

Using rapid or accurate style, B=4. 4 exp per point of damage dealt. On long-range it drops to 2 range exp + 2 def exp.
-
Use genies, penguin points on it, etc. when you don't want to train for a quick burst of exp. It's not as money-saving as using it on construction or prayer, but it's a lot faster than running a course a dozen times.

Help with Skills training(Range,Mage,Thiev,Slay,Agil,Summon
Kellis replied to OmidSan's topic in Help and Advice
Feathers and unfinished bolts combined equals finished bolts, right. You can put gem tips on them with high fletching, but the enchantments aren't necessary except for some high level or boss monsters.
