I realize that's why players bot. What I was getting at was that some players try to pass off the notion that they really don't care about anything in the game despite investing time into it, probably in an effort to as Randox pointed out save face.

What exactly is so hard to understand about this? The entire premise of RS is and has been that you do activities, which are for the most insufferably dull in exchange for some social-status or item/rewards of value. That's the "legitimate" way to play the game. Naturally, however, there are those who want the reward as desperately as anyone else but are incapable of actually doing it legitimately, or refuse to do so; so they take shortcuts. I don't engage in this behavior myself(I don't bot or abuse bugs), but it's not entirely perplexing or irrational behavior. They like one aspect of the game(rewards), but abhor another(the work/path required to obtain said rewards). There's no contradiction or anomaly about these sorts of people, you encounter them in real life all the time and some of these people happen to play the game. Have you never encountered the sort of people in school who cheat on exams or plagiarize assignments, or have them ghostwritten? I'm assuming when people tell me they don't care about the game they mean it and actually don't care about the game which would make botting totally pointless since they receive absolutely nothing for it except wasting their own time. Of course they could just be lying which is what I'm getting at.

Assuming 100% success rate and being unable to do both, what's better map progression per hour, trade goods or resource missions? Repair the ship instantly by viewing the black marketeer's stock. Costs 20k gp per hour your ship would otherwise be unavailable.

If you did an hour of arctic pines then an hour of your best money making method you'd end up with more money over the same period of time and almost certainly better xp/hr. Don't make the same mistake all of us made by assuming it's a good idea to try to profit off of woodcutting.

I really don't understand this whole "i don't like the game but I bot 200m cooking". That's like setting your microwave timer for 3 days and letting it count down then destroying your microwave and claiming on a public message board that you didn't like microwaves anyway.

So we had all these people abusing ports, and not one could post some pics of any set? Even one piece? Unbelievable.

That would be just as bad as giving bot scripts to everyone who attends.

These are the same people who will grind for weeks to get money, fool themselves into using that martingale system at the duel arena, declare on a public forum that they are quitting after they lose their bank, post on a Runescape forum how great life is without Runescape, and subsequently return only to find that all their items are gone because they visited freersgold.com. I would never use the word "wise" to describe the average Runescape player.

I don't know how this could be anything but confirmation of a random event reward nerf. Edit:

Letting rewards stack up is as much bug abuse as dropping a firecape to skip ice wyrms or avoiding quests to "block" certain monster.

A few days before Nex set effects are released he will sell his massive stockpiles of Torva, Pernix and Virtus, but unbeknownst to players he has a hidden ace up his sleeve. Soon after the masses rid themselves of their hoarded armor he will begin buying them up again. Slow and steady he will buy up the unwanted sets careful not to arouse suspicion, and then he will spring his trap, nothing less than a front page article declaring a full re-balance of godwars gear including the lower tier's rise to level 80 all the way up to Nex armor taking it's rightful place at level 99. Mod Mmg's revenge will be complete.

Source? Got mailed to a community saying that the BTS vid was out, and that the teasers pics were coming when they are ready, but that the update won't be next week. I cut them out and pasted them together: I'm pretty sure the first is the mace, don't know about the second one, but due to the size, I think it's the rapier. I guess I'm one of the very few who subscribes to the notion that form follows function.

I've had a random post "nerf" and all seemed normal as well. Edit: Normal being voyage rerolls etc.

So is saving random event rewards pointless now? Should I still save them?

Thanks! I wasn't really sure if it would be worth it at my levels but are there any quests I should do for slayer? I've already done Smoking Kills and the first thing I get is gonna be the ability to craft slayer helms With slayer it's more quests you don't want to do. For example, the Path of Glouphrie unlocks warped tortoises and terrorbirds which are a mediocre task at best.

Slayer is really your best bet in the long run. It's also a hell of a lot more enjoyable, unless you have a thing for camping one spot for ages.

I'm not so much bored as I have lost the sense of urgency. I've stopped using timers and the like to know precisely when to go back to my ships etc. I think it's a natural progression from "yay, new stuff" to "I'll unlock everything in my own time." How far have you all progressed into the Scythe btw? I'm only at 44%. I have all the crew I need right now (except for the elusive Sea Witch) and all ship updates unlocked, so I guess I'll be able to get in quite a few port updates/save up cherrywood before getting to the next region. See, I'm lazy and started ports with that mindset. I believe I'm 30% give or take into scythe. Have Sea Witch mission saved for days now waiting to give it a good shot.
