I got a few 2400/2400's and 4000's, so it shouldn't be too rough if you're already competent at the Skull's voyages. Definitely make your focus on the Hook once you unlock it, and do so ASAP, or else you won't be making much progress otherwise. Gunpowder is immediately outclassed by slate. Not necessarily true at all. Now that we have the ability to unlock a third ship, gathering bamboo from the arc is a pretty worthwhile route to take after you have recruited some of the Hook crew members. Leaving it down to the odd one or two bamboo voyages you would get focusing on another region would take you a stupid amount of time, whereas focusing on Arc and getting the odd 100 slate mission is a good way to go. If you can complete all the missions within 24 hours anyway an extra ship is just as useless as speed upgrades. Not to mention that 4k slate could easily buy you a replacement for your entire crew or refit your whole ship in one go. Also I don't know about everyone else, but I'm having trouble even crewing 2 ships with good crews, last thing I need is a third ship to fill up.

Since right now level 80 armor won't let you do anything level 70 will, looks and prestige are the only thing I look for in armor.

I would be pretty pissed if the new level 90 armor was just nex sets, especially since they royally screwed torva armor and turned it from the best looking armor to one of the worst in the whole game.- Microtransactions
Jagex should make that RuneScape's new slogan: "No one said this game would be easy or fun!" :D I know of a couple of games that already use slogans like that. Dark souls and Dwarf Fortress being prime examples. The former is created by a masochist and the latter's slogan being "losing is fun" with the sole goal of having your fortress destroyed in the most horrible manner possible.- 11-Dec-2012 - Player-Owned Ports
Ship upgrades have no requirements beside the resource cost.- 11-Dec-2012 - Player-Owned Ports
Given the generic setting for the whole eastern lands it's probably just a bunch of samurai fighting each other. Pernix, Virtus and Torva. Nobody invents armor when a dangerous boss appears, they just loot it from them.- Microtransactions
Assuming 1m/hr is average income now and 500k/hr is average for 2007 players, with bandos set 40m then and nex sets 80m now (virtus and pernix dropped to ~80m on PoP release and I'm confident they'll drop to that once the armor becomes widespread) both will take the same amount of grinding. Of course neither of the armor comes close to being required for anything in 2007 nor 2012.- 11-Dec-2012 - Player-Owned Ports
I'm more interested in the "flying squid" in the joint debrief.- 11-Dec-2012 - Player-Owned Ports
First joint mission I've had.- Chaotics and some other questions on weapons.
Remember that all of the chaotic crossbow's damage comes from the bolts and that your bolt choice is limited based on your weakest weapon. If you're using a main hand ccb for instance and an offhand rune cbow you'll be limited to just rune/broad bolts. I've been very happy with my dual chaotic crossbows for slaying with momentum, though of course for abilities any dual wield range setup is far less effective than it's 2h counterpart.- Low Level Combat Leveling
Looking at random monster on rs wiki I found: Flesh crawlers - level 56-58 (stronghold of security) - weak to stab Cockatrice - level 64 (relleka slayer dungeon) - weak to crush *requires mirror shield* Cave crawler - level 76 (relleka slayer dungeon) - weak to slash Moss giant - level 40 (Chaos tunnels) level 74 (west of fishing guild) - weak to slash Should be something decent there. Remember to use a two handed weapon if using abilities (not on cockatrices) or dual wield if using momentum for best xp/hr.- 11-Dec-2012 - Player-Owned Ports
Do they override the next day's mission or are they added to your 12 daily missions?- Microtransactions
I genuinely have no idea what observation lead to that concluding, final statement. On current GE prices, a full set of Pernix costs 210m, Virtus is 258m and Torva 332m. How many millions do you think the average RuneScaper has in their bank, exactly? I think that today's prices, the correct ones not the ge ones, are comparable to 40m for a set of bandos back in 2008 when Godwar dungeon bossing was in full swing. I remember my cousin spending most of his bank for a Bandos chestplate, and I wasn't far behind him with 15-20m bank. Having expensive armor isn't necessarily a bad thing, as long as it is achievable by people who are willing to work hard.- 11-Dec-2012 - Player-Owned Ports
Now? I'd risk it as Skull crewman will just be dismissed as I get better Hook crew so there's not much to lose.- Microtransactions
I have no idea where you're pulling this from, I think it's a lot more reasonable to argue that the majority of players cannot afford the highest tiered armours. Getting to the 100m+ GP thresh-hold isn't easy when you don't have great starting capital/skills. The people on these sorts of forums tend to be more dedicated RS fans, and would naturally have more money since they are heavily invested into the game compared to your regular player who may not play enough/have the knowledge to be "super efficient". He's talking about pvp armor (statiues, vesta, zuriel, morrigan) being ridiculously expensive to use regularly but having a very low entry cost to start using it. We've already got that sort of thing with black/white, third age and ganodermic, it might be cool to continue that trend. Back during the restricted trade era third age melee was my goal for around a year. It got me bossing again and was very fun saving up for, all the way to waiting for ge to update and putting offer in to snipe it (the only way to buy it back then as it was rising for a while). I'd really enjoy having armor like that again. Expensive, but reasonably attainable sets for those who enjoy chasing the goal of relatively unique armor as much as I have.- Microtransactions
1b for level 80 armor? People should be able to gear all the way up to 99 without grinding out thousands of hours for basic gear, if they want to make sets like third age which are mainly for showing off with passable stats then fine. As for untradeable armor, I think having a set for levels 15,25,35 and so on would be a great idea, it would give incentive to level skills other than combat, and they could even have parts for the level 85 gear for example be dropped from nex so the gear we have wouldn't be devalued too much.- Post all RS Screenshots, Videos, and Sounds here!
Some of the Solomon weapons would fit perfectly, if you're willing to go that route. Otherwise, good. The classic tone plays... Fixed that as best I could, unfortunately font size is limited.- Post all RS Screenshots, Videos, and Sounds here!
New skiller outfit. Love? Hate? Suggestions?- 11-Dec-2012 - Player-Owned Ports
5 of each standard skull crewman for specific skill missions such as 6,000 combat. As many exploding golems as I can get for missions involving morale and combat. At least 1 overseer. Palmist for arc missions. They're not kidding when they call it a daring raid.- World 1, 16 both P2P along with 10 others
That is extremely easy to circumvent. How is that-through Clan Wars itself or through another method? Through Red portal. The limit only applies to coins. Anything non-coins will be dropped on death. Why is the limit even there then?- World 1, 16 both P2P along with 10 others
Why not axe any other world instead of world 1? Jagex's mind is like an enigma.- World 1, 16 both P2P along with 10 others
Some f2pers think they should have a lot of variety when choosing a game world in their free game at the expense of Jagex. - Microtransactions
